Liverpool and the FA have this evening announced Luis Suarez is to be charged following an incident in Liverpool’s defeat at Fulham on Monday evening.

The FA’s official site released the following statement in full:

Liverpool Football Club have been charged by The FA with failing to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion, following the dismissal of Jay Spearing. The charge is in relation to Liverpool’s Premier League fixture at Fulham on 5 December 2011. The club has until 4pm on Monday 12 December to respond to the charge. Luis Suarez has also been charged following an incident in the same game. The Liverpool player is charged with improper conduct, in relation to an alleged gesture made towards the Fulham fans at the end of the fixture. The player has until 4pm on Monday 12 December to respond to the charge.

Having been barracked for much of the game by the home support with accusations of diving, the Uruguayan was seem to gesture towards the Cottagers fans and now faces a second disciplinary charge, with the Patrice Evra racism allegations also hanging over his head. In comparison to the situation with the Man United left-back, the case has been dealt with efficiently, though due to the delicate nature of the Evra controversy, they have been understandably slow to finalise any decision.

Much depends on Liverpool’s next move. Whether they will appeal or accept the charge will obviously affect the games Suarez could potentially miss. Still owned by over 28% of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers, Suarez’s absence would force many to alter their plans, with QPR, avl, wig, BLA affording the Reds a generous set of fixtures over the next few gameweeks. At present, though, he is free to play this weekend.

Certainly, there seems to be a far more clear-cut case to answer for his Craven Cottage indiscretion, though, with plenty of pictorial evidence highlighting Suarez’s reaction over the past couple of days.

Andy Carroll’s place in the first-team would seem more definite in the short-term as a result of any Suarez suspension, with Craig Bellamy also offering a cheaper Fantasy option. Dirk Kuyt could also come into the reckoning but much depends on Kenny Dalglish’s thinking in light of Jay Spearing’s three-match ban in the same fixture, as the injuries and suspensions start to rack up down Anfield way.

There is also the possibility that Suarez may receive nothing more than a fine, however. Other recent cases of improper misconduct, involving Carlton Cole and Ryan Babel, resulted in both being free to play. The matter is completely at the discretion of the disciplinary committee and could go either way.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    With Suarez facing suspension, I definitely need to change it up a little:

    Vorm (Ruddy)
    Walker – Enrique – Simpson – (Orr) – (Wilkinson)
    Bale – Silva – Walters – Moses – (Allen)
    Aguero – RvP – Suarez

    2mil in bank, 2FTs

    GW15: Walker > Verm
    GW16: Suarez, Orr > Ba, Jones
    GW18: Aguero > Rooney (If in form)

    Thoughts anybody?

      Playing well. He had a chance where he ghosted past the Bayern defence only for his shot to be blocked on the line.

    So now this is getting interresting / difficult;

    a) kompany => jones + keep drenthe
    b) kompany + drenthe => smalling + nani (-4)
    c) kompany => smalling + keep drenthe, next week brown => baines

    I'm thinking either a or c, if we just knew if smalling is starter for next few games...

              Why is everyone having a go at De Gea tonight? He's also made some vital saves this season, at Liverpool if I remember correctly. I wasn't too happy seeing a 21 year old keeper become our number 1 but I'm prepared now to give him time.

      Depends on your rivals really. To me, there is little between them so I have no idea hoe Nani is 3rd but young is not on the watchlist. I am a firm believer in backing quality players due a haul rather than following recent points. Unless you are Ronaldo or Henry, nobody scores every week. I have been stung with my appointment of Young but still fancy him to score double points this week more than most mids. He is very capable of + 15 points this week and I do not see to many mids in that boat apart from Nani.

      Most of the possession just not clinical in the final third.

      Nani is doing well, staying on his feet, put some nice balls across and should have had an assist. Rooney missed a sitter!

      Not looking particularly solid at the back by any means but possession is helping with that. Finding it hard to break down their defence

        Young is a quality player low on confidence at the moment, you don't get 33 goals and 50 odd assists in the Premier League being a "pile of crap".

    Vidic being injured makes it so much easier to go 5 cheapies at the back to allow me to have a midfield/attack of....

    Mata, Silva, Nani, Bale
    Sturridge, Adebayor, RvP

    I like it alot.

    Is Rooney fully fit? Just doesn't seem to be busting a gut to get ther elike he usually does. All seems to be a bit within himself.

    missed the 1st half, see vidic got stretchered off, serious knee injury perhaps?

    Jones and Smalling nailed on now for a start?

      got a mate that has a risky but potentially great keeper rotation. Has Lindegard and Vorm, plays Lindegard every week and if he doesnt play (most weeks) then Vorm simply subs in. Think most times lindegard has played he's got 6 points

      Vidic injury makes Evra more inviting for me. Still think SAF might hide Jones away for no reason every now and again

    Man U fear the worst with Vidic's knee injury. Suspected knee ligament damage. Will probably be put in a brace. More to be revealed after a scan back in England.
