With a favourable run of fixtures on the horizon, Chris Samba makes a significant shift up this week’s updated Watchlist rankings. While Steve Kean’s side have failed to record a single clean sheet this term, Samba’s recent attacking returns look to offer plenty Fantasy potential over the new few gameweeks.

Blighted by hamstring problems, Samba’s had something of a stop-start season but, having now fully recovered, he’s back to bolster Blackburn’s bid for survival. For any Fantasy managers contemplating a short-term option, Rovers’ next three games look particularly enticing- an away trip to Sunderland- who may be without Nicklas Bendtner and, with Martin O’Neill’s arrival, are clearly a team in transition- is then followed by home clashes against West Brom and Bolton.

It’s safe to say we’ve not highlighted Samba for his possible defensive returns. Indeed, Rovers’ lack of stability at the back has caused them to go on the offensive more often and Samba’s attacking threat is proving integral right now.

Priced at 5.4 he’s hardly cheap but a look at Samba’s last four ninety minute appearances is very revealing; 2 goals, 2 assists and 6 bonus points , producing 29 Fantasy Premier League (FPL)points, is more in line with an in-form striker than a centre-back at a club struggling near the foot of the table.

These next three games will be vital before trips to Liverpool and Man United in gameweek 18 and 19 respectively and with Steve Kean’s side approaching the period on the back of a morale-boosting 4-2 win over Swansea, Samba’s contribution to the cause at both ends of the pitch will be vital.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    Morning...

    Vorm
    Baines/Jones/Brown
    Silva/VDV/Drenthe/Dyer
    Sturridge/RVP(C)?Ade

    Ruddy,Moses,Gabb,Simpson

    Moses-HB Arfa?

Am I biased or are there few other options at 6.4 or under?

    Is Dyer out btw?

No inspiration at all this week...could drop Drenthe and have more cash to spend (7.8) but then Id need Dyer or Moses to play!

How you feeling about us this weekend mate? i think we can score but backline is looking VERY thin!

          Yeah, I don't know ... head says we'll lose 3-1, heart says it'll finish 2-2.

I think it's a game where both teams score and there's over 2.5 goals though so I'll probably lay a few quid on that

    Few queries for you gentle-people.

Is Yak a real alternative or did he just get a bit lucky last time out. Can’t believe I’m even considering putting a Blackburn player in my team this year! (other strikers are RVP and Ba)

Am hesitating over Vermaelen purely due to the fixtures. He would be instead of Micah. Neither have very good fixtures really in the next few weeks.

The VDV Vs Bale debate rages on in my mind…

I'm kinda in the same position as you, however I bought the Yak this week and have a front line of RVP, Ba, Yak.

I was considering Verm over my Kompany but decided to stick with Kompany

I am also keeping VDV, because a fully fit VDV is better that Bale.

Do I understand this correctly? When Spurs and Everton have their extra game in GW 20, the wildcard option is available. Therefore, I assume lots of people will be loading their teams with 3 Ev and 3 Spurs players...?

Ok, captain this week - Ba or RVP?
Ba - Pro's: Up against Norwich who don't keep clean sheets, avg 9 in his last 4 away games, Wolves (6) Stoke (17) City (5) United (8), Newcastle should definitely score, and he has been involved in 11 out of their last 15.
Con's: Newcastle could hit a form slump with their injuries, could be very risky if he scores 2 points and RVP continues his hot form.
RVP - Pro's: It's RVP, has scored 7 in his last 5 home games, safe option.
Con's: Don't fancy us to put many past Everton who will park the bus, only Chelsea in GW8 made Everton look poor defensively away. Might be a good time to gain some sneaky points in mini-league/overall.
    Thoughts?

Agree there's a good dilemma here. Ba has been involved in the last 5 Toon goals, but I still think it's too much of a risk not to captain a fresh RVP. Btw, the PL team to have scored the most number of goals against Everton? Arsenal. 😛

the only reason im captaining rvp over ba is RVP's high ownership.
if u captain RVP but ba ends up scoring more points, it won't that big a deal and won't cost u much

on the other hand, if u do the reverse and RVP ends up with a higher score, u will be in trouble

Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic is ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury, Sir Alex Ferguson confirms at a press conference.

Hernandez out. Vidic out. Will this be the spark of the United we saw in early season?
