With no televised (English) top-flight game yesterday, Sunday’s double-header has us eagerly anticipating some live Premier League action. The Dugout Discussion opens for the second day of Gameweek 15, with a relegation scrap and a game between two sides aiming for Europe.

We start at the Stadium of Light as Martin O’Neill takes over the reigns as Sunderland manager. His first assignment is against a Blackburn side whose manager, in total contrast, is hanging onto his job for dear life. Having said that, Steve Kean has a win against Swansea last week to build on. Here are the all-important team sheets…

Sunderland XI: Westwood, O’Shea, Bardsley, Brown, Bramble, Richardson, Larsson, Colback, Vaughan, Sessegnon, Wickham.

Blackburn XI: Robinson, Salgado, Samba, Dann, Givet, Formica, Dunn, Lowe, Pederson, Vuckevic, Yakubu.

Sunderland striker Niklas Bendtner is kept out with a groin injury, and in his place Connor Wickham gets his first league start since October. The visitors are also without a key striker, as Junior Hoilett picked up a training ground hamstring injury that sees him miss out.

Following that it’s over to the Britannia Stadium where Stoke City host Tottenham Hotspur. Stoke’s ambition this season will be to match last season’s success of reaching the Europa League, whereas the visitor’s will have their sights set on returning to Europe’s premier competition after a year out. That’ll then just leave Monday night’s grand finale at Stamford Bridge to bring the gameweek to a close.

    44 points with only Silva to go.. Relatively happy though, considering some of the scores been mentioned here, i feel like iv got away with one because of mini league Rivals mediocure scores, nothing like those been mentioned here thank god..

    every team goes to the transfer market to buy quality players, free kick specialist, wing players, defensive mids etc etc and add valuable backup..Stoke is the only team that looks for back-up throw takers in the transfer market...

      I hate this anti-Stoke stance. Oh how dare they kick players from top clubs. Its a farce, if a team is really good enough they shoudnt be able to be bullied out of the game.

      If Holland can try to be anti football in a World Cup final then im damn sure little Stoke should be allowed to do it if it gets them results.

      Talk like this annoys me, football isnt all about just standing off and letting people keep the ball, the so-called 'long ball' game is just as credible and may i say, less boring, than watching Spain right now.

    Feeling absolutely robbed of an Adebayor goal and VDV assist. Judged to be offside when a Stoke defender had fallen over so the linesman missed him, Ade was AT LEAST 3 yards onside. Gutting.

    What do you think of Jarvis as an FPL propsect? Played the full 90 in last 3 games, 2 assists in last 2.. worth a look? Have to free up funds to bring in Nani ya see.

      jarvis has begun starting games now.

      Earlier this season he was coming off the bench with limited impact and wolves were playing poorly.

      Last 3 games he has started and has done very well, he is one to watch for me. Definately picking up on his form from last season.

      Great at the start. got me loads of pts, then Wolves fell away and he was subbed. Still great for assists. I'm tempted to get him back I must admit. Should be a steady source of pts when Wolves have favourable games. He is in that kind of Ohara/Brunt bracket....out of the three ohara is still the more appealing, but jarvis is a close second.

        I ;like the idea of geting Jarvis in especially as I bought him for 6, sold for 6.4 made 0.2 on him and now can get him for 5.7...he's king of the investments.

      I would get Gower/Moses and upgrade elsewhere. Looks a good option on paper but in reality, he's a 2 pointer man.

      Fletcher's the man for Wolves cover, but of course it is a striker spot.

        Moses has one good game and suddenly he's a prospect....he's got Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd next. I'd hold fire on any Moses move for a while. Gower though...there's a thought. I have a seemingly rotated Dyer to deal with and gower could be that man.

    it may just be wishful thinking here, but how sure are we exactly that VDV is no longer taking free kicks, corners and pebs? he may just be told to take things easier with his first full match back being fit?

    need to wait for info on this if it comes from anywhere, im not willing to judge all this from one game.

        true but maybe it was just for now to not too much pressure on him to excel and ease him back into things, if he looked like a real threat today i could of seen him getting badly injured with a bullying type style stoke side, either way i think i may be getting rid for bale or mata, pleased with my midfield overall though.

      He still took most of the corners and free kicks. If you're fit enough to play you're fit enough to take a penalty.

      spurs switched to 3 5 2 to got more attacking. 3 centre backs with bale and walker wing backs. BAE was sacrificed to make this happen

    I have kept VDV for weeks now. Wasn't impressed today with his performance (disallowed goal aside). Thinking VDV>Nani.

    I am still wondering whether or not i should do a well thought out knee jerk reaction on transferring vdv. So whom do you anticipate will score more -Vdv ,Sun (H) or Nani, QPR (A)

      i have done a 4point so vdv is staying but no pen duty is a major kick in the teeth.
      i think nani and bale offer better value. but vdv can have back to back braces so it may be ride the bad weather to enjoy the sunshine

        I can see why you are on a bad streak this year. This time round its been all about grabbing the player once he hits form. No time to stick with the players hoping for them to finally perform.
        But for me, vdv is pretty special. My best performance was last year (rank 1524) and it was downright to vdv. I got him the day he was added to fpl. That is why i have been holding the transfer trigger for so long.
        You know going into this week, i had promised myself if he didn't perform at stoke, i would kick him out. Man, I suck at keeping promises.

    im on a net weekly score of 28 with only aguero and silva to go.
    5 seasons on lowest finish 50k now im sitting on 700k and i cant see a way back 325 off leader and 215 off my mini league leader.
    ramsey and aguero have gone for nani and ba. thats my 4th 4point hit of the season but some of the players i am picking are either not value for money or the wrong time and place. bendtner,vdv and ramsey 5 weeks ago over ba,bale and walters is the single worst set of transfers i have ever done

    anyone on less than 704 points to cheer me up

      Nope but I have been close and have gone from 700k odd to 150k ish in 3 GW's. Sensible transfers and good captain choices and you'll be back, keep at it

      Ferguson -> Gower/Moses. Might as well keep VDV for Sunderland at home next week, then get Nani in for him. QPR are no pushovers at home so no panic to get Nani for this week imo.
