With no televised (English) top-flight game yesterday, Sunday’s double-header has us eagerly anticipating some live Premier League action. The Dugout Discussion opens for the second day of Gameweek 15, with a relegation scrap and a game between two sides aiming for Europe.

We start at the Stadium of Light as Martin O’Neill takes over the reigns as Sunderland manager. His first assignment is against a Blackburn side whose manager, in total contrast, is hanging onto his job for dear life. Having said that, Steve Kean has a win against Swansea last week to build on. Here are the all-important team sheets…

Sunderland XI: Westwood, O’Shea, Bardsley, Brown, Bramble, Richardson, Larsson, Colback, Vaughan, Sessegnon, Wickham.

Blackburn XI: Robinson, Salgado, Samba, Dann, Givet, Formica, Dunn, Lowe, Pederson, Vuckevic, Yakubu.

Sunderland striker Niklas Bendtner is kept out with a groin injury, and in his place Connor Wickham gets his first league start since October. The visitors are also without a key striker, as Junior Hoilett picked up a training ground hamstring injury that sees him miss out.

Following that it’s over to the Britannia Stadium where Stoke City host Tottenham Hotspur. Stoke’s ambition this season will be to match last season’s success of reaching the Europa League, whereas the visitor’s will have their sights set on returning to Europe’s premier competition after a year out. That’ll then just leave Monday night’s grand finale at Stamford Bridge to bring the gameweek to a close.

The Dugout Discussion chatroom is open for all today’s action.

    Which combo looks better for the upcoming week?

    A)Aguero TO Rooney
    VDV TO Mata
    For a 4 point hit

    OR

    B)Aguero TO Adebayor
    VDV TO Nani
    Brunt TO Mata
    For an 8 point hit

    A) Ramsey and Brown > Nani and Shotton (-4)

    B) Ramsey and VDV > Nani and Bale (-4)

    Leaning towards A, feel like giving VDV one more week atleast...

      hey man i'm keeping too. I just think that spurs will come out all guns blazing next game at home esp since today was so unfair. I think it would be more useful if you were to rectify weaker parts of the team den transfer vdv out to nani/mata since i think all 3 stand similar chances of getting big hauls. just my thoughts been wrong a lot this season 🙁

    VDV was exactly the same as this last year.

    He is a big game player, runs hot and cold, and Stoke away is a fixture he clearly thinks he's a cut above. Just watch how he plays against Chelsea or Arsenal

          What are you saying? It blatantly went in off of Dempsey.

          It'll probaby be given to Sinclair because, yes, it was on target. But it was a huge deflection. Plain old common sense says it was an own goal. Not that that counts for much in this game these days.

            How do you decide how big a deflection is has to be before it is an own goal and not given to the player taking the shot?

            That's why if it is on target it's not an own goal. A simple solution

    need a 5.8 replacement for richardson, wolves have two nice home games...

    O'Hara, Jarvis, Hunt? Hunt is on pk's but doesn't play too often, Jarvis Asst Man but I think O'Hara gets most forward, any wolves fan confirm this? O'hara best option of the three?

      Have the same dilemma myself am currently leaning towards Jarvis. O'Hara seems to be in a deeper role since Wolves have gone 4-4-2, and Jarvis has started to show some of his last season/early season form again. Tricky one though..

      The only deciding factor I can think of is that by next week an awful lot of people will have Nani. Particularly casual players and Man Utd fans. So it might be better to get Nani to cover the chance of another good score, however unlikely.

    Hi guys, which transfers do you think are most needed?

    Vorm, Krul
    Simpson, Enrique, Jones, Brown, Wilko
    Silva, VDV, Bale, Dyer, Watson
    Ade, RVP, Bendtner
    0.6 in bank

    i) Bendy->Ba
    ii) Watson->O'Hara
    iii) VDV->Nani
    iV) Wilko->Ward

    Given the deadwood of Watson and Wilko, i think those 2 are priority to deal with busy xmas coming

      Bendy->Ba is an obvious choice.
      VDV switch - no point with a good fixture coming up.
      Wilko can wait too-you have 4 playing defenders.
      O Hara - good transfer although for all his goal attempts doesn't always deliver the ff pts he could potentially achieve.

    Stoke vs. Tottenham...

    Shawcross is such a filthy f*cking cheat, I hope he gets the bad karma he deserves

    I wonder how much of Stokes success at the Britannia is down to poor f*cking officiating, so many fouls not given at the top of stokes box, adebayors goal was CLEARLY onside, honestly there should be some kind of investigation Foy and the linesman was so blatantly biased, the only call that went tottenhams way was a pk foy couldn't possibly have not given. Tottenham were robbed

    vdv off pks, time to bail? I would've made a bale pun but I already own him

                shawcross elbowed a ball off the line that would've been a goal, dragged kaboul down in the box when he surely would have won a header, kaboul got a yellow for appealing for a pk and later would be sent off for a second yellow. Shawcross was a cheat today. I don't know how the linesman could've possibly missed ade bein onside for his goal, and foy didn't give several fouls at the top of the box at the end of the game for tot giving stoke an easy ride in. Sorry if you don't like they way I said these things, I concede I was frustrated but things like that ruin the game and it bothers me... some things are more important that fantasy soccer. (tho not many :p)

                You decide that you are somehow above making observations, and instead of just ignoring them in your high and mightiness you decide to come down to my level and tell me I shouldn't say these things...

                  i'm certainly not above anything. indeed, i can agree that TOT were robbed.

                  but calling ShawX a f*cking cheat and ranting about Foy and the linesmen smothers your very good point about Bale-ing on VDV.

                  and your level seems like a good place to be. i'm down with that.

                    haha fair enough... I suppose shawX/foy may have been a bit much. Most of my frustration is coming from the fact that vdv could've had a goal and an assist, I would've felt so justified for keeping him in! now he seems destined to fund nani after I sell him like 4 weeks too late

                    same. boat.

                    still left with the dilemma of shipping out for Nani/Mate/Bale or keeping for a plum tie at home to SUN.

                    VDV just didn't look comfortable on corners. lost PK duties to Ade.

                    hammy twinge still an issue?

                    possibly, and modric took a fair few of those corners as well! still, i've kept him this long, and a home game to sunderland seems prime for a vdv goal. Do i sell larsson after his winner against blackburn?! decisions, decisions

                    i'm keeping VDV.

                    i have more pressing issues with Drenthe and Sess.

      Yeah do it. I'm shipping Ramsey out tonight - he's been the biggest 2 point disappointment for me this year!

    Jafa, I'm keeping Brown, but I think Turner will go for Caulker or Gabbidon. Most likely the latter as post-Utd it's playable home games till March.

    I have Jonny Evans on the radar, but only 3 CSs again this w/e so chasing CSs feels like a lottery. Vermaelen may be too expensive and I've missed the boat with Enrique. One of my biggest regrets has not been trusting the Pool defence.

        for the price, he's nailed on, rotates with Naylor and QPR are pretty tight at home and are not averse to an away cleanie

      I'm tempted to do a hit and get Evans in for Brown. Starting to get hacked off with SUN. Just wish Evans would be a guaranteed starter from now on.
