With no televised (English) top-flight game yesterday, Sunday’s double-header has us eagerly anticipating some live Premier League action. The Dugout Discussion opens for the second day of Gameweek 15, with a relegation scrap and a game between two sides aiming for Europe.

We start at the Stadium of Light as Martin O’Neill takes over the reigns as Sunderland manager. His first assignment is against a Blackburn side whose manager, in total contrast, is hanging onto his job for dear life. Having said that, Steve Kean has a win against Swansea last week to build on. Here are the all-important team sheets…

Sunderland XI: Westwood, O’Shea, Bardsley, Brown, Bramble, Richardson, Larsson, Colback, Vaughan, Sessegnon, Wickham.

Blackburn XI: Robinson, Salgado, Samba, Dann, Givet, Formica, Dunn, Lowe, Pederson, Vuckevic, Yakubu.

Sunderland striker Niklas Bendtner is kept out with a groin injury, and in his place Connor Wickham gets his first league start since October. The visitors are also without a key striker, as Junior Hoilett picked up a training ground hamstring injury that sees him miss out.

Following that it’s over to the Britannia Stadium where Stoke City host Tottenham Hotspur. Stoke’s ambition this season will be to match last season’s success of reaching the Europa League, whereas the visitor’s will have their sights set on returning to Europe’s premier competition after a year out. That’ll then just leave Monday night’s grand finale at Stamford Bridge to bring the gameweek to a close.

The Dugout Discussion chatroom is open for all today’s action.

    Evening all, dreadful week so far for me, just having a play around with the deadwood in my team;
VDV, Drenthe and Ramsey > Mata, Valencia and Moses

I have 4 good defenders so shouldn't need Moses during those awful fixtures but at least he has potential for points off the bench. Valencia too kneejerky? Got good fantasy pedigree from previous years but could be a rotation risk. Could also look at Ramires and Nani instead.

Ramsey is amazingly frustrating to own, 16 Arsenal goals have gone in without him assisting or scoring.

Ramires and Nani is probably a better combo than Tony V and Mata on reflection.

VDV > Nani is the much more sensible move tbh. Perhaps sort out Drenthe as well for O'Hara/Jarvis.

So frustrating this game. Aguero, VDV, Adebayor. I kept them all through their injuries thinking I'd be rewarded for my patience, restraint and playing bench. In the end, I've just learnt to be ruthless in this game and hot on players. Sometimes you have to cut your losses and wait for form to return by owning another player.

RVP will inevitably provide the biggest dilemma.

The thought of selling RVP crossed my mind earlier. I could have a midfield of; Walcott - Bale - Silva - Nani - Mata, and then have a 5.2m replacement.

Please give your opinion, Which combo looks better for the upcoming week?

    A)Aguero TO Rooney
    VDV TO Mata
    For a 4 point hit

    OR

    B)Aguero TO Adebayor
    VDV TO Nani
    Brunt TO Mata
    For an 8 point hit

roo/nani could struggle at quarter pounder and rashers so hold there, Vdv home to sun-Hes due points ella, mata wont score 4 more than vdv imo stick till following week, I dont think 8pts are ever worth it.

messi wrapped up ballon dor again surely
mourinho may aswell bench ronaldo in the big games
really frustrates me when people compare messi and ronaldo when its not even close because messi plays even better when facing a big team whilst you dont notice ronaldo is playing until he misses

+1 in the messi vs ronaldo debate, messi wins it because he gets it done in big games. While perhaps not to the extreme, I would say ronaldo is a flat track bully compared to messi

Ronaldo scored in the Champions League final. While I wouldn't disagree that Messi is the better player, maybe it's just that Barca as a team are better able to handle the big occasion. They're one of the best teams of all time IMO, maybe the best

Looks good, FB. I'd wait a little if you can to see if VDV has a very slight hammy strain again, maybe that's why he didn't take the penalty, as 'now back to me' said.

I was all set to give VDV the armband for this week, but possibly losing penalties I'm actually thinking of taking him out now too. Seems quite silly given the fixture, but Mata is one I'm eyeing up for sure.

I would sell VDV seeing as you have Ade/Bale but not Utd/Chelsea.

Mata for me. There will be less room for Nani on the tight Loftus pitch. I expect both to do well.

Baines, so much promise and is nailed on. But a lack of CSs from a toothless Everton makes me painfully have to reject him from my team.

He and VDV could be involved in a DGW loan, though.

Right, according to CTC, Aaron Ramsey may just drop tonight.

As such I want to bin the useless twonk tonight. So the same dull question as millions of others....Jarvis or O'Hara? And why?

All about formation, 4-4-2 and Jarvis is your man 4-5-1 and O'hara is a beast. What will Mick do? They play better in a 4-5-1 but are forced to drop one of their strikers in 4-4-2 which he doesn't seem to like to do.

It'll be 442 as both Doyle and Fletcher are fit. If one's injured, then 451.

I'm trying to decide between Brunt to O'Hara or Jarvis - both £5.7M.

So far, Jarvis playing 90mins for last 3 games swings it.

      too expensive and unreliable

could bag a haul, but the week after?

TBF he is streaky so that may not be strictly true, but I wouldn't want precious funds going in that direction. Baines and that's it from Everton attacking wise.

Plan to take a 4pt hit this week, thinking about maybe getting shot of Yakubu for Sturidge? meaning I'll have to downgrade Drenthe to a mid at 5.0

    A) Yak / Drenthe - - - - - - > Sturidge/ mid at 5.0

    B) VDV / Wilkinson - - - - - - > Mata/ Evans

2 fresh transfers gives me this squad ahead of GW16:

    Vorm
    Jones - Enrique - BAE
    Nani - Mata - Bale - Walters
    RVP - Ade - Ba

    Krul - Simpson - Dyer - Brown

    Transferplan for GW17 through 19:

    Dyer > Moses (GW17), Brown > Evans (GW18) and Ba > Sturridge (GW19)

Are my priorities in the right place?
