With no televised (English) top-flight game yesterday, Sunday’s double-header has us eagerly anticipating some live Premier League action. The Dugout Discussion opens for the second day of Gameweek 15, with a relegation scrap and a game between two sides aiming for Europe.

We start at the Stadium of Light as Martin O’Neill takes over the reigns as Sunderland manager. His first assignment is against a Blackburn side whose manager, in total contrast, is hanging onto his job for dear life. Having said that, Steve Kean has a win against Swansea last week to build on. Here are the all-important team sheets…

Sunderland XI: Westwood, O’Shea, Bardsley, Brown, Bramble, Richardson, Larsson, Colback, Vaughan, Sessegnon, Wickham.

Blackburn XI: Robinson, Salgado, Samba, Dann, Givet, Formica, Dunn, Lowe, Pederson, Vuckevic, Yakubu.

Sunderland striker Niklas Bendtner is kept out with a groin injury, and in his place Connor Wickham gets his first league start since October. The visitors are also without a key striker, as Junior Hoilett picked up a training ground hamstring injury that sees him miss out.

Following that it’s over to the Britannia Stadium where Stoke City host Tottenham Hotspur. Stoke’s ambition this season will be to match last season’s success of reaching the Europa League, whereas the visitor’s will have their sights set on returning to Europe’s premier competition after a year out. That’ll then just leave Monday night’s grand finale at Stamford Bridge to bring the gameweek to a close.

The Dugout Discussion chatroom is open for all today’s action.

So friday I didn't have big enough balls to do kompany + drenthe for smalling + nani with 4 point hit. Went instead safely kompany to jones.

Lost "couple" of points there, so what you guys think, would this be just stupid?
Jones + Drenthe out, Jagielka/Smalling + Nani in, 4 point hit.

Drenthe has great fixtures, but he wasn't even on the bench yesterday, so I don't think he will start next game either. Nani has two away games to come, so I'm not that sure that this would pay off tbh..

    Silva>Bale & Jones>Baines

In the run-up to the dgw, Everton have good run of fixtures and really want to get Baines in, don't see how else to. Team is:

    Vorm (Ruddy)
    Jones Enrique Brown Simpson Wilkinson
    Silva Nani Larrson Eagles Dyer

I'm thinking Silva to Mata over the Christmas period. Don't want to lose VDV or Nani due to their better fixtures. I can easily get Silva back in with my wildcard, the only concern is losing about 0.4 or 0.5 in value on him, but if it pays off points wise its worthwhile..

With Jones, Richards, Vermaelen offerin attackin returns at a much cheaper price tag.. anyone feels it is a bit pointless ownin baines? maybe we own him cause of the returns his given us in the past(lack of attackin defenders with CS's too).. but with Everton strugglin for CS's and struggling to score i'm findin it very hard to justify keepin him.. especially when i can get an expensive mid in(nani etc) instead of non performin mid priced mids(Sess etc)

      Baines isn't worth it.

Yes they have DGW, but would you fancy their chances away at Spurs? No.

Everton - 0 shots on target in last 2 games, Vellios is their top goalscorer with 3. They don't look like getting many pens or freekicks either.

It's worth to watch Blackburn goal and consider if Samba is the better striker as compared to Bendtner.. 😀

He superbly controlled the long pass down, coolly dribbled pass Bardsley, and hit the powerful shot on target.
