The impossible has happened. After five long years, Michel Vorm delivered my first penalty save of my Fantasy Football management career. There could be no question – this latest episode had to be dedicated to Swansea’s Dutch stopper.

Ironically, it follows last week’s outing that found me lamenting my cursed luck. Vorm answered my prayer (or moans – Mark) – the monkey is finally off my back, and I can hardly contain my joy during this week’s session.

Elsewhere, the regulars are scattered around discussing the dubious merits of Jonny Evans, talk a hamstrung Van der Vaart, the shifting goalposts of the Fantasy Island Risk and Mark’s quest to win his own Cup competition. The selfish bugger.

Come get some here.

    Any good midfielders from 6.1 or less? (Already have Moses)

    Will Drenthe start? Awesome next two.

        Doesn't seem to be many good options. Guess I could save transfer, but it's the only way to bring Evans in.

    Just read the VDV v Mata v Nani article from earlier and I'm a bit nervous now.

    Defoe played in the Europacrap this evening so looks like VDV is a definite for SUN.

    I did VDV to Bale and Long to Sturridge (4 pts) days ago.........good moves?

    Howard (Vorm)
    BAE, Jones, Wilko (McAuley, Brown)
    Silva, Bale, Nani, Formica (Walters)
    RVP, Sturridge (c), Adebayor (vc)

    How does that look? I'm not feeling too confident

      BAE also played a bit, we could see 3-5-2 again. Either way he plays though I guess.

    Westwood --> Ruddy
    Richards --> Jones
    Brown --> Evans
    Walcott --> Bale
    Shawcross --> R Taylor

    Price wise I think it's all or nothing.

    Happy midnight everyone. Just wondering if you would play the following team without any transfers. I'm contemplating saving the transfer even though I have Schwarzer injured and Wilko probably too. Do it all next week.

    Vorm
    Jones Enrique Raylor
    Silva Nani Bale Eagles
    RVP Sturridge Adebayor

    Subs: Schwarzer(like he's gonna come on), Ramsey, Wilkinson

      Thanks all for giving it a once-over. Have a FT and am tempted by Schwarzer > Vorm, are Swansea toothless away? Will Tiote/Coloccini return this week?

      And regarding the Eagles thing... yeah I'd just like to shamelessly plug Eagles for Ful (since I don't really get anything out of it apart from maybe one transfer in!). He has exploded several times this season and the only thing keeping his average down (and he's still highly ranked for mids) is the erratic form Bolton have shown. Playing a Fulham side knocked out against minnows in the Europa with possible dressing room problems looks like a good punt at a cheap price.

          Haha, I presume you mean he's unlikely to score not that you have some premonition about him being in serious pain. Fair enough, it is a gamble, albeit a cheap one. What made you drop him? Individual or team faults? I reckon Fulham are erratic enough to capitulate. I watched them give up a 2-0 lead to that Danish minnow and both Hughes and Hangeland were playing, as well as Dembele, Zamora, Sa, Dempsey... plus they'll be tired.

            Yeah, Spurs are great at home. I think it's testament to the respect MON gets that he has us fretting two matches in about playing his team, but on the other hand I heard Sunderland were well exposed and unskillful against Blackburn. On the balance of probabilities, it's unlikely MON can get a result - even avoid conceding twice.

        I actually think the opposite will happen, an over-confidence in forgetting they only beat a Blackburn side that tapered-off towards the end. When Spurs will be stressing them hard in the final 25minutes. In the end I will be captaining the Yak...or VDV.

          I have the Yak too but can't bring myself to captain him, too risky and Blackburn were ultra defensive against Sunderland. Without Hoilett and Rochina in the side the Yak does not get fed much.

      I have Van Persie captain and Ba as vice. Just a few weeks ago VP scored a hat-trick and assist away to Chelsea. A quality striker in form,he'll score against any defence. City's back 4 is not the best defensively, rely too much on their defensive midfield and Hart to help them out. Will be interesting to see how they do when Ya Ya is gone for the African Nations. They'll be praying for a big freeze methinks!

      Given you're looking at 2 transfers and a loss of what, 0.3 upwards I think that's way too much to pay for one GW. You may well want to transfer him out before his Spurs match and right now the 2 transfers really could go elsewhere - firstly United coming back and secondly trying to grab better mids/defs instead of swapping between two similar ones. Plus, Mata form away ain't so good. 2 assists or something.

    Krul (Vorm)
    Enrique - Ward- Richards (Brown, R Taylor)
    Nani - Bale - Silva - Ramsey (Dyer)
    RVP - Ade - Long

    Got 1 million in the bank and 1 FT. I want rid of Ramsey and thinking Silva may have another lean week. Swap for Mata?

    Thanks.

        Same. Silva seems like the most consistent player in the most consistently scoring team. Only downside is he doesn't get large returns very often so not captain material i guess. Mata isn't enough of a goal threat for me.

          I think Mata is more likely to return a big score than Silva, but Silva is much more consistent than Mata. Chelsea are hot and cold and i think they are a team in a big changing phase. Besides Mata and Sturridge can you say any Chelsea player has had a good season so far, maybe Terry but thats it

          He scored 2 away to Norwich last week, could have had more, could have had 2 or 3 against chelsea. Im captaining King Ba!

    Hi All,

    Looking for a bit of feedback regarding the side for this gameweek. Have held off on completing any transfers this week with a view to getting that elusive double for the upcoming midweek gameweek

    Gameweek 16 side:

    Krul
    Enrique Jones Shawcross Simpson
    VDV Silva Bale
    Adebayor(VC) RVP Ba(C)

    Vorm Sessegnon Dyer DaLaet

    1 FT / 1.0m in bank

    Banking on a Toon clean sheet at home to Swansea and goals at the Lane for Spurs?

    Thoughts appreciated

        With Tiote and Colocini back (possibly Williamson?), think Newcastle are more than a chance for clean sheet against Swansea, known to struggle away from home?

                  Dyer played a reserve game against Spurs midweek and lasted 5 minutes, he should probably retire. Don't understand what is going on with Taraabt, won't get a decent price for him in January after this season's farce anyway.

    Interesting Stat!

    Ballotelli has scored in every game this season that he has played more than 30 min in, even in 19 min as a sub against Norwich

    If he became first choice then i think he could be a must have striker. That being said though, Dzeko has a very good points per min ratio aswell

      Take out Simpson for NTaylor. I don't trust that defense at the moment

      Otherwise your selection is bang on

      Cap'n choice is anyones guess! Tough week to choose!
