The impossible has happened. After five long years, Michel Vorm delivered my first penalty save of my Fantasy Football management career. There could be no question – this latest episode had to be dedicated to Swansea’s Dutch stopper.

Ironically, it follows last week’s outing that found me lamenting my cursed luck. Vorm answered my prayer (or moans – Mark) – the monkey is finally off my back, and I can hardly contain my joy during this week’s session.

Elsewhere, the regulars are scattered around discussing the dubious merits of Jonny Evans, talk a hamstrung Van der Vaart, the shifting goalposts of the Fantasy Island Risk and Mark’s quest to win his own Cup competition. The selfish bugger.

Come get some here.

A 0-0 draw in the necastle swansea game would go down a treat 🙂 Considering i dont have ba, am being forced to start ntaylor alongside danny simpson due to also owning turner + wilkinson...

I would like 0-0 up to the 60th minute then N. Taylor gets taken off for some reason and Ba gets a hat trick, Carlsberg don't do FPL but if they did....

Right, which transfer looks most appetising for this week:

    1. Kompany to Walker
    2. Ramsey to O'Hara

    Thanks in advance

I'm a Chelsea fan and in some way I'd be tempted to play Al Habsi over Cerny - Kenny may be back next game anyway though. It could go either way though so it's up to you but the rest of your team looks good for this gameweek. 🙂 All of your players look good on paper with the fixtures they're faced with.

u bet darts at all? wade to make the final at 9/2 is a big price considering his draw, ive had £20 on that

Hapoel Tel Aviv @ evens last night, I usually post a bet during the day. Yeah I watch them but don'y know a lot about em, I got Lewis @ 6/5 in play last night. They were throwing terrible darts. I'll have a piece of Wade to get to the final thanks. I will post my bet for today in a few.

        what ive gathered is that

every everton fan wants him in the team, jagielka even commented on him. his problem has been little niggling injuries but hes trained all week so will atleast be on the bench

hes coming in for sess swho i dont fancy for more than 2 points so im happy to take the gamble now

"Drenthe is in line to make a return to action as Everton welcome Paul Lambert’s effervescent Norwich to Goodison Park this weekend, however, and Jagielka believes his presence could add a welcome touch of dynamism to the Toffees’ attack.

No shots on target in each of their last two games, they need some spark. But

"Hopefully he can be fit enough to play some part in the next two games," said Jagielka.

he had a fitness test before the arsenal game apparently and has trained all week, i guess it depends on what u think the player you're removing will score as to whether you gamble this week

just seems a bit random that if he wasnt likely to play that jagielka would talk him up like that

      Not really.
Aguero never been rotated in PL game, and Silva only been rotated 3 days before CL games.
Depending on the result though I guess, if they lose/draw, then no way they will be rested IMO

Anyone considering Tony Hibbert? I know he doesn’t offer anything attacking wise, but he’s a cheap way into Everton’s defence who have good fixtures til the double gameweek, surely they will keep a couple of cleanies?

I don't have high hopes for Everton with the cleanies, but I'm still going to go for Jags in the hope he offers eomething from an attacking perspective, and at 0.2 more than Hibbert I think he offers much better value.

        +1

it's the same as the MUN situation at the moment:

Hibbert = JEvans cheap intro level. don't expect much.
Jags = Smalling chance of a sniff of an assist or headed goal.
Baines = Jones spends more time in MID than DEF and likes to attack

    Orduspor vs Galatasaray – K.O. 18:00

Galatasaray share top spot of the SuperLiga with Fenerbache, who they beat 3-1 a couple of games ago) while Orduspor sit two places outside the relegation zone with a 5 point cushion.

The home side are on a run of 5 straight defeats in the league while Galatasaray have won 4 and drawn one (away to Besiktas) of their last 5. Orduspor have the third worst home record in the league while Galatasaray have the best away form.

Galatasaray made some fantastic summer signings and loan deals, the quality in the squad is very strong for a Turkish side and in my opinion they probably have the best set of players in the league.

They signed a good ‘keeper in Muslera from Lazio and Ujfalusi and Eboue have been great signings to pair with Balta and Kaya at the back. The midfield has been bolstered by the loan signing of Melo from Juventus. And in attack they have former Bolton striker Elmander, who is playing great at the moment, paired with Liverpool old boy Milan Baros.

As you can imagine the Galatasaray players are brimming with confidence and will relish a shot to go 3 points clear tonight against an out of sorts Orduspor. I have also read that the Orduspor owner has very close ties with Galatasaray and it is expected that Galatasaray will win because they need the points more than Orduspor, this isn’t why I am backing Galatasaray but I thought it would be an interesting side note.

So with the gulf in class and red hot form taken into account I am going for Galatasaray @ 10/11

Second and third in the league. Cheltenham won their last five in style. Southend hurting from losing to Cheltenham last week. Both against weak and poor form opposition.
I'm having a small double and will add yours for a little treble.

I know that some of you guys on here like a bet. How about this one. Paddy Power have Ben Arfa at 9-1 to be 1st goal-scorer. He is likely to start up front with Ba, at home, against swansea (who just conceded 4 in their last away game). His odds are longer than Peter Lovernkrands and the same as Leroy Lita!! Get involved!

Just a hunch I guess. But if HBA doesn't play at home against swansea, then when is he going to play? My take is that we needed shola's height against Norwich to help defend from set pieces. A lot of good that did! HBA looked good against Man City and Man Utd (away). He is potentially one of the most exciting players in the league. And would definitely not take very well to warming the bench for Shola Ameobi!! I think he'll play. Would even consider captaining him if I didn't have Ba as well! I wouldn't do it, but I would consider it!!

Pardew loves him. He always raves about him. If he doesn't play in the next couple of games, it would mean that we would have decided to get rid. There is no way he would be happy to warm the bench for a massively inferior player. Especially for easy home games, when he needs to be easing himself into the premier league. He will play. Buggu it! Or whatever it is you cool kids say on here!

With VDV/MATA/BA/NANI/SILVA/RVP. Who would you fancy captaining?

My initial thoughts were BA 2gs + BP so to go for him, but Mata is a teaser

I'm thinking about VdV, but it's quite a risk and I'll probably plump for Adebayor in the end, who doesn't make your list. Ba is a plausible option.

Imo. If HBA starts I think this would improve BA's chances for goals as HBA is class and improves Ba's chacnes for assists and goals + bp

Can't decide on defence this week, options are:

Bring in Krul ad double up on Toon defence with Simpson

    Or

Bring in Evans and double up on Utd defence

    Which one to go for?

I'm not a fan of that kind of logic, particularly with twenty-something weeks to go, better to just get who you think will score more points and ignore your rivals' teams.

Rooney could easily outscore RVP from here on in, especially with no Europe (I presume) to worry about.

Would you not drop alot of team value doing that? Thats my worry. I am also 40+ points behind 1st and thought about the exact same move. But RVP has gone up 0.8 since I bought him. So would be a silly move, and costly!

      nope.
50pts. gap is nothing, there's still half season to go.
and rvp is a solid striker who score every match. It would be better off punting on other players e.g. silva, if u get him at around10.2 price level. if u get him in 9.5, then just keep him

Quick question; if you had Rooney this week, would you captain him? Currently between him and Ade who has a good home fixture. However, the 3 people above me in my mini league have Ade too and I'm pretty sue they'll be giving him the armband.

Play it safe and go with Ade or is it worth taking a risk on Rooney?
