The impossible has happened. After five long years, Michel Vorm delivered my first penalty save of my Fantasy Football management career. There could be no question – this latest episode had to be dedicated to Swansea’s Dutch stopper.

Ironically, it follows last week’s outing that found me lamenting my cursed luck. Vorm answered my prayer (or moans – Mark) – the monkey is finally off my back, and I can hardly contain my joy during this week’s session.

Elsewhere, the regulars are scattered around discussing the dubious merits of Jonny Evans, talk a hamstrung Van der Vaart, the shifting goalposts of the Fantasy Island Risk and Mark’s quest to win his own Cup competition. The selfish bugger.

Come get some here.

        They have the best centre midfield in the league. If they're going to pay Lamps' £150k a week wages they 'd be better off spending that on Adebayor or another striker.

      In all seriousness though, the idea of him taking Parkers or Modric's place with Sandro lurking is absolutely laughable. Unless they are selling Modric of course.

        No-one knows the long-term implications of VdV's hamstring yet. Harry would regard himself as thin in midfield if Vdv happened to be out at the same time as another mid for any sustained period.

        As I said, the wages would be in line with the current structure. He's very settled in London, and he sees it as the right time for a move.

    So which goal did you lot vote for? Took some time to go through all 50 but I think Yeboah v Wimbledon is my favourite. Le Tissier v Blackburn is sensational too, and the Ronaldo freekick v Portsmouth is almost too perfect to be true.

        For me the Rooney goal against Newcastle beats the overhead kick, but I guess it's because I'm a bit of a sucker for a great volley and a hard shot. A solo run can never top a screamer like that for me. All personal opinions of course.

        I really think the other Le Tissier goal is better. The one against Newcastle is better for improvisation but the other is just a demonstration of him doing what he wants, perfectly.

        I actually love the Albert lob too, it's one of the best ones. Such a smart goal.

    Following on from posts made by Corrigan et al regarding ubers - uber cheap defenders rotated throughout the season - and showing the fixture list was pretty good if you got the right combination of defenders - I cooked up a team to demonstrate what you could get with the strategy. This could be wildcarded after the DGW, it's not necessarily optimal now. Some defenders could be improved if you have more money than me.

        Cheers. I think I can just about stomach the back 5, on paper no lookers but considering fixtures and the defences they're in, it could work. And should usually get the cheapest starter in a decent defence...

    I need no make my team tonight ideally as as I am the lash 2moro afternoon and am getting a train home on saturday. I used by FT early but have 2.9M smackers in the bank.

    Vorm
    Jones Enrique BAE
    Silva Nani Drenthe Walters
    RVP Ade(v) Ba (C)

    Given Simpson Dyer Brown

    Subs and capt ok? Am comtemplating a hit:

    Drenthe--->Lennon/Bale/Ramires
    Given--->Sorensen

    Or keep as it is and rely on Simpson if Drenthe fails to show up.

        When fit, the monster that is Essien would eat the pair of them though

      Song has got to be up there. And offers more going forward than most, think he could become Arsenal's Essien. I'm slightly biased though.

    It really is amazing. Vorm to go up in price due his last performance but despite his future fixtures. I won't complain but it's truly insane.

          You are right - your English is awful. However, I'm really happy ... in my little World.

      Could easily play him at Everton and home to QPR, maybe at Villa as well - none of those teams have looked threatening upfront recently.

    Man City and Liverpool should have a DGW due to Carling Cup, but it may not be till February/March.
