Bonanza! With three of our five suggested bets coming in last week, and a fourth on Nani just a back-flip away from paying out, the “Fantasy Flutter” struck gold. After weeks of hitting bets and covering our stake, finally we’re starting to see some real profit. With the £25 return tucked in our back pocket, and Paddy posting up more markets, we shall see if the streak continues or whether our luck is pinched out…

This week Paddy deliver odds on some Flutter regulars, covering all positions on the pitch. Up first is our set-piece-taking, wing-hugging Everton flyer, Leighton Baines. For one of the priciest defenders around, Baines has provided only two goals, one assist and two clean sheets this season, whilst not missing a single minute of pitch-time. His poor individual haul reflects Everton’s uninspiring season to this point, but when the Toffees win, Baines is always in the mix for returns. Weekend opponents Norwich have been bashed around when on the road, and we feel that Baines looks good for some profit in a game of goals at Goodison. We’ll open up our tenner, with £2 on Baines to score from a dead-ball at 11/2.

Swansea’s performance in last week’s clash with Fulham made for good reading for all those (probably a lot of you) that had Michel Vorm in goal. But the comfortable 2-0 result perhaps failed to tell the full story. Although Fulham conceded, Leroy Lita and company never looked truly threatening going forward. Even taking into account their recent injuries, Newcastle seem a good bet to hold firm against the Swans at St James’ this weekend. Paddy have Scout Pick Ryan Taylor to keep a cleanie and Newcastle to win at 21/10; we’ll take that for £3 of our stake.

The Yak is back, and lining up a very favourable fixture at home to the Baggies. Although he had a quieter week, facing off against Martin O’Neil’s Sunderland, Yakubu is still very much on our radar. On the bench as prime budget option in the Scout Picks, we’ll back the Yak to score and Blackburn to win at 3/1 for a quid of our money.

Chelsea’s “number Juan” playmaker (sorry) is away to Roberto Martinez’s struggling Wigan side in the late kick-off on Saturday. Chelsea will be riding a wave of confidence after defeating league leaders Man City at the Bridge on Monday; the Latics look to there for the taking. Juan Mata to assist, and low scoring Wigan to keep off the score sheet, is a massive 6/1. Our £3 stake doesn’t seem quite enough on this, with value written all over it, but we need to save a nugget for our final flutter.

Our regular “who will score the most” market features last week’s winner Wayne Rooney once again, this time at the better price of 13/8. But we’re not going to take that. We’re not even going to take the fair price of 7/4 on Daniel Sturridge on the aforementioned potential goalfest at Wigan. No, in-fact, we’ll be placing our final pound on Demba Ba at 15/8 to hopefully rifle a few past visiting Vorm. Swansea’s fans may have maintained their match-long chant of “Michel Vorm m’lord, Michel Vorm” last weekend, but Ba looks well placed to silence the traveling Swans faithful at St James’ Park.

Paddy’s Money Back Specials

We may have steered clear of the City vs Arsenal clash with the Scout Picks, but Paddy have faced the weekend’s big encounter head-on. They’re offering a money back special, refunding all first/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast single bets on the match, if Mario Balotelli or Robin Van Persie scores the last goal.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to this betting lark and new to Paddy Power then you can take up any of these odds and offers and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Been agonizing over Ade or Sturridge for captain all week, finally decided on Ade because he's playing a day later - I hate the thought of Sturridge drawing a blank and have to wait 24 hours to see what my rivals captains did.

    Genius.

I was thinking to take out Larsson completely and use up his slot to bring in Nani next week and then VDV for the DGW but then reckon Larsson is a keeper less rotation risk but then if I do will defo bring him back in later on...

Order seems fine but I dont think you have anything to lose in playing Vorm over Ruddy this week. You might consider using some of the money in back 5 to beef up mid a little especially if drenthe and ben arfa dont play considerable minutes.

Other defenders are Baines, Jones and Enrique so he's unlucky to miss out this week.

Can anyone see a better transfer than Vemaelen to Baines?
I'm keeping the 2 frees for next week in case it all goes pear shaped.

Vermaelen / Jose Enrique / Taylor R (Brown / Barnett)
Silva / Van der Vaart / Nani / Drenthe (Dyer)

Hibbert at 4.8 could be a good shout, not sure if Jags is worth the extra 0.6. Baines would be nice to have but is way too expensive at 7.8 in my opinion, Vermiantor will be top scoring defender this season if he stays fit I reckon! Although he is playing left back now so not sure how that will affect his attacking penitential

Yeah I don't like losing Verms (and the 0.1) but can't have both him and Baines.
If I don't get Baines now, I want him to fail again this week and lose value cos I'll still want him for the DGW.
And yes Jags is good value but Baines will score big sometime and want to own him when he does

haha no way! was meant 2 be going venue tonight! i was there last week but i try not to go there too much as my ex works behind the bar, ended kinda badly.

yeah Ba seems like a decent shout mate. and the lad you saw is going for Ba too? hmmm kinda altering my thinking now, i can just see sunderland osing by a margin, suppose its follow gut instinct i guess, who knows, RVP could well put 3 past city, doubt it though! arghh i wanna consider Ba now!

haha ruddy can stay well put, i am drunk but i aint retarded lol. he staying on my bench 4 evar!!! haha. hmmm i may leave it on Ade then, just trust what i think, paid off last 5 GW's so why not i suppose 🙂

I cant be see a better option from these fellows other than Ba or Nani:

              Vorm
              BAE Jones Enrique
              Drenthe Silva Nani Walters
              Ba Ade RVP

I am sticking on Ba and not logged into FPL otherwise I will not remember what I did later.I would have no clue who u were even if u went to venue. I was there for a mates bday. The lad i saw is one my best mates and is only ahead to Yak and etherington coming on his bench last GW. Basterd. Which one ur ex, i was kept getting served by a ginger bird lol.

haha iwas thinking Nani! my team is:

                Westwood
                Jones, BAE, Enrique
                Silva, Walters, Nani, VDV
                ADe, Ba, RVP

Haha i know yeah, if i logged into FPL now i'd change it i know i would.

Haha i was gonna say that, we wouldn't know who each other was anyway, unless i went round ike an FPL freak asking if they play FPL haha!
whish i have asked some people, i am obsessed!.

nah my ex had brown hair and sort of a large chest, think she may of left actually asshe wasn'tthere last time i went 2 week ago, who knows, dont care really. met that ginger bird before though 🙂

ouch yak and ETHERINGTON? lucky bas*ard! oh well, im leaving it as it is, no way i can trust capping RVP this weekend anyway.

Final RMT before I head of to bed, guys!

    Krul
    Simpson, Jones, Enrique
    Drenthe, Walters, VDV, Silva
    Ba, Adebayor, RVP

    Subs: Vorm, Gower, Ward, Brown

Oh and one question, my plan was if VDV doesn't perform this week transfer him out for Nani, and in a couple of weeks, also gonna get rid of Ba for Sturridge. However, someone said with the rotations of players over Xmas, I need a big-ish sub on my bench. What a people's opinions on this, and any ideas on how I can improve my team over the next week or so?

Thanks in advance for any replies!

You subs are fine as they are all starters at a reasonable price.

      RMT: 6/10

Just the midpark letting you down. Would rather see Utd attacking coverage rather than later. Question marks hang over Drenthe and VDV for starts.

Hey jafalad, thank you for your reply. I've already taken a 4 point hit this week, would love to get Nani in for some attacking United coverage though. Is it worth doing VDV to Nani this week, for an 8 point hit, if there is a question mark over him starting?

No. You may as well hang onto VDV now esp with this prime fixture with SUN. Just hope that Utd are kept quiet at QPR 😉

Not bad. Your subs will save you if a couple of players don't start but I can see both VDV and Drenthe starting. Good team imo 7/10

With regards to your question I don't think it is overly necessary, it could come in handy but so long as you have certain starters on your bench its fine

So since RVP is probably not a good choice for captain... what do you guys reckon is the best option among these:

    1. Phil Jones (why not!)
    2. Rooney
    3. Ben Arfa (i hope he plays)
    4. Silva
    5. Adebayor
    6. Bale

Really feel like taking a risk this gw to beat my rivals
