    Last weekend my 4th & 5th midfielders, Drenthe & Pilkington, didn't play and I ended up with Kompany auto subbed in for a 0 pt 'haul'.

    I have a feeling of deja vu this weekend but having used my 'free' transfer this week - Mata in, VDV out before the latters price drop - I feel the need to have someone more nailed on to replace Pilkington before his price slips and my profit goes out the window...

    £900k in the bank leaves me short of the differential I really want for Xmas - Etherington - but no one else £6.2m or under appeals much. With Man City now shipping goals weekly would it be the right time to sell Kompany for a Man UTD defender such as Smalling or Evans instead and use the surplus to fill my boots with Etherington?

    Press the panic button and pay the 8 pts or cross my fingers and hope my midfielders return to action?

      Great post, shame no answers.

      At that price, it's all a punt. Bolton have kind fixtures.

      Sinclair, O Hara, Eagles are all affordable without huge hits.

      IMO Drenthe, GK in addition to that would be more urgent if using an eight pointer! Kompany is stable in a strong side.

        All these mights point to doing nothing. You'll need Drenthe to score 4 more than Moses & Vudface (should he play) to make it worthwhile. That's unlikely.

    about defoe's form. his last 4 games he's scored twice, both the third goal in game which were already won against bolton and shamrock. the two games they needed a goal from him (PAOK and stoke) he was no where to be seen. as a VDV owner i'm not particularly worried for sunday, and no, i've kept him because of this thought, i don't feel like this because i own him

      With Defoe playing on yesterday, it makes VDV pretty nailed on. Defoe's goal last night wasn't exactly clinical, and he was pretty awful all night.

      On a side note, don't be surprised to see Bale & Walker at wing back with BAE dropped. Possible formation change for Spurs as it worked well 2nd half against Stoke. BAE playing against Shamrock makes it more likely.

      This Defoe hype is a bit ludicrous. It's a case of Arry talking him up so he doesn't look for a move in January.

      The fact is VDV is a class player who wouldn't be at Spurs in the first place if he wasn't so injury prone.
      Defoe on the other hand is a miss merchant and in terms of footballing intelligence he's braindead. He just happens to have a bit of form, but even the sun shines on a dog's arse once in a while.

        Kenny is back now and Sorensen is not exactly nailed on is he. Personally I wouldn't do it because you're swapping one sure thing for one uncertainty.

        I'm not sure how the hell you only have £0.2m out of that lot though.

        I'd do Kompany to Jones rather than Smalling and think about VdV to Bale.
