This Sunday brings a whole host of soccer action across the globe. Right now Santos are trying valiantly to hold off Barcelona in Japan while in the evening there’s some tasty action on the continent. The Dugout Discussion opens for the juicy Premier League filling in this football sandwich…

QPR play host to Manchester United in an earlier than normal kick-off as Gary Neville sets in for a triple header of televised “Super Sunday” fixtures – with a fourth game off screens for good measure.

Neil Warnock drafts in Matthew Connolly for the injured Anton Ferdinand while Heidar Helguson returns from injury himself. Ferguson must have a temperature as he makes the rare decision to field an unchanged side from that which beat Wolves – his usual fables on the injury front also show Javier Hernandez fit enough to return to the bench. Teams in full are…

QPR XI: Cerny; L Young, Connolly, Gabbidon, Traore; Wright-Phillips, Barton, Faurlin, Mackie; Helguson, Bothroyd (Subs: Kenny, Orr, Hill, Derry, Taarabt, Campbell, Smith).

United XI: De Gea; Smalling, Evans, Ferdinand, Evra; Valencia, Carrick, Jones, Nani; Rooney, Welbeck (Subs: Berbatov, Giggs, Park, Hernandez, Young, Lindegaard, Fryers.).

Fantasy Managers will then have to settle in for not just Aston Villa hosting Liverpool but Manchester City against Arsenal on television screens. Plenty of captain’s armbands will be following Spurs vs Sunderland also going on while these two games take place.

This Dugout Discussion is also my last planned contribution for quite some time so I’ll wish you all many happy returns over the hectic festive period of football coming up while I’m here. Thanks for your continued support over what’s been a grand old 2011.

Really unsure about my 5th Midfielder...

    My Mids are -

    Walters, VDV, Silva, Nani, Dyer.

Pointless having Dyer in my squad so im thinking of getting a Decent Mid with squad rotation over Xmas inevitable.

atm I have enough money to bring in a Mid for 5.7, is Eagles worth a shout with decent fixtures coming up? Or shall I get rid of W.Brown as well & bring in a cheap DEF(Caulker/Shotton) to buy in someone better than Eagles.

    sorry for the long post.

Yeah, I was thinking of this combo too. You'd think drenthe would start next game yeah?

Shame it leaves me with 0.1 short to get in Evans at some stage.

Anyone find that getting players in before they rise substantially is sometimes a hindrance? Seems like if someone becomes much more valuable while you own them you will be less inclined to trade them out since it would cost a lot more if you wanted them back. Will the early Bale owners get rid after his run of good fixtures draws to a close?

Seems like he is the preferred choice- Fergie usually likes to keep it constant at the back. He will be rotated, but only to rest him IMO. Personally think that he is more nailed than Ferdinand due to the latters age.

43 before bonuses with RVP, Kompany, Bale and BAE to play. Happy enough with that looking at my main mini-league, possible bonuses for Rooney (capt) and maybe Sturridge.

Sensibly its not an assist but we have seen rather ridiculous ones given ,so should had been given I think.
