FPL Bonus – Gameweek Sixteen

The EA Sports Player Performance Index scores are out and the Fantasy Premier League have now updated their bonus points accordingly. Here’s how the bonus breaks down for gameweek sixteen, with more than a few surprises in store…

Please note, the Aguero assist for Silva’s goal was removed following review. It was adjudged that the City striker did not get a touch on Balotelli’s cross but that the Arsenal defender diverted it into David Silva’s pass. The assists awarded to Mario Balotelli which boosted his EA PPI and saw him claim the two, relegating Pablo Zabaleta back down to one.

      Good team. Only concern is no city cover in the long run. Sort it out in jan wildcard. For the jext five team is fine.

      Bale-Mata-Nani-Larsson (Johnson) is a really strong midfield, good balance between the teams.
      Again, RVP-Ade-Stu is strong with a good spread.

      Why don't you leave it for these midweek games and see how you do? I've made lots of transfers this season when I didn't need to and the 4/8 point hits every week have added up massively.

      Some ideas...
      Brown-J.Evans?
      Mata-VDV? Spurs DGW coming up, if you're keeping Sturridge then you may as well maximise possible points, Spurs look stronger than Chelsea and Everton's defence is awful.

      Then afterwards, Ade has the African cup of nations (I think) so you could then make some changes then keeping Bale and VDV.

      The lack of Silva is what Boa is referring to, but seeing everybody has him having different players will play to your advantage, just need to be patient 🙂

      Anyway they are my ideas, and I profess to be no expert!

    3 bp for Ade is a joke (i have him btw) but 3 for Friedel?

    Vorm did more in last weeks game than Friedel has done all season.

        Vorm, 6 saves + 1 penalty save = 19 PPI

        But that is my point, a player could conceivably score a higher PPI than a player from another game and score 0 BP to the other players 3. Maybe Freidel just put in a decent performance in an otherwise dour game.

      if the keeper takes goal kicks and the ball goes to the other team it is counted as possesion lost, if he makes a 5 yard pass to his sweeper it is positive
      that also needs to be monitored

      There will be rotation in days to come. My tactic is to beef up the bench so there's a better spread across the squad. Works for me.

    My team is Hennessey, Al habsi; Jones, Enrique, Simpson (Walker, Turner; Ferguson) VDV, Silva, Sinclair, Moses, RVP (C) Ba, Adebayor. Should I save my transfer this week? I've got a lot of funds and considering doing Turner to Baines but that would give me huge bench decisions. Is it better to have a strong bench for Christmas period in case of rotation or save transfers in case of injury?

      I have Adebayor Capt. and I can tell you he was an absolute fiasco yesterday. He was constantly offside and had no influence on the game whatsoever. VDV was clearly man of the match. While I'm absolutely delighted with my 6 points and see it as justice for past week when my players deserved bonus points and didn't get any, I want to re-state that the new bonus points system stinks to high heaven.

    I've just looked at the Guardian chalkboard to compare stats between Ade and VDV

    adebayor had 4 shots, 2 on target, 1 blocked, 1 off
    vdv had 5 shots, 1 on target, 3 blocked, 1 off
    adebayor had 18 successful passes, 13 unsuccesful, 31 in total
    VDV had 69 completed passes, 8 unsuccessful, 78 in total
    VDV had 0 clearnaces
    Ade had 2 unsuccesful clearances
    both had 0 blocks
    VDV won 1 free kick, conceded 1 free kick
    Ade conceded 6 free kicks, won none

    Last time I ever follow FFS advice. Double transfer at -4 cost replacing Dempsey and Sturridge for Yaya Toure and Ba. End result = minus 21 points!

      I guarentee nobody would have told you to do that with Dempsey at home to Bolton and Sturridge at Wigan.
      If they did, and if you took that advice, you're both idiots, IMO.
