FPL Bonus – Gameweek Sixteen

The EA Sports Player Performance Index scores are out and the Fantasy Premier League have now updated their bonus points accordingly. Here’s how the bonus breaks down for gameweek sixteen, with more than a few surprises in store…

Please note, the Aguero assist for Silva’s goal was removed following review. It was adjudged that the City striker did not get a touch on Balotelli’s cross but that the Arsenal defender diverted it into David Silva’s pass. The assists awarded to Mario Balotelli which boosted his EA PPI and saw him claim the two, relegating Pablo Zabaleta back down to one.

    Sigh…..

    Not a bad GW considering, but if it wasn’t for my needless tinkering and poor decision making, I’d probably be 50/60 points better off overall. My own fault though so no-one else to blame but myself.

    Silva back in the team, 0.2 and lesson learnt.

        It’s not even a bonus point thing. Just playing the fixtures over the form has done more harm than good for me.

        As I said yesterday, I’ll hold my hands up and say I made the wrong calls, but it’s still disappointing.

    is wilkinson to jonny evans worth a freebie this week? if bale doesnt play im left with playing 2 of caulker gower and moses

      I'd bet on Bale starting against Chelsea. Not sure about Evans, did Ferguson mention something about 1 of the twins needing some gametime? They could come in for Evans and Smalling may be pushed to CB.

      I'd wait until you hear something from 'Arry on Bale first. I do expect Fulham to score, but Evans did actually look threatening yesterday from corners, could easily have had a monster score.

      Scandalous how? I havn't seen a proper slow-mo of it, but watching it in real time, I thought he got a touch of it with his head before Verm half-cleared the ball.

      I think he did actually touch it. I thought, on one of the super slo-mo shots, that Verm basically kicked it onto Aguero's head. Not entirely sure though. I don't have Aguero btw, so I'm not just saying that because I do.

    some challenges for harry to overcome ahead of chelsea game:

    lennon's injury means he needs to fill that RW role with someone who can track back cole. so vdv there is out of question leaving teh option of playng modric there with livemore in central midfield or playin kranjar (last appearance in GW5)

    another option (bad news for us fantasy players) is switching bale to the right and playing kranjar or pienaar (who is yet to make an appearance this season) on the left

    king inabilty to play twice per week means kaboul and bassong/gallas will play there or king who will be a major risk

    the option of vdv or defoe, vdv will be weel covered by romeu who is sitting very deep while if he opts for defoe, he will find less space (again coz of romeu) at the edge of area for his favorite shots

      If its only in GW24 (last possible date), you have your GK playing Chelsea and Arsenal - at home though so possibly ok, but I see Swansea's legs tiring soon and the goals flowing against them a bit more.

    hmm Captain Baines failed but thankfully none of the big hitters hurt me overly and i'll take 59.

      Almost did the same, but eventually went into my shell and captained Silva (obviously very happy now :))

      Saylor to Simpson is another option you should consider.

    What's the general opinion on the best budget (i.e. sub 5.0) midfielder? Not really seeing anything major worth doing to my team this week so thought it'd be an idea to swap Dyer to someone who is getting the minutes, since the inevitable rotation will kick in over Xmas.

      Gower, although not sure why he was subbed, Brendan's a tinkerer. Gomez seems a good option, 1 with terrible fixtures though. Some people have been going for Surman/Johnson from Norwich too...

    2 free transfers this week, what do you think of these changes:

    Walters to Drenthe
    Ferguson, S to Moses

    Both free. Would anyone recommend anything else? Seems a good idea to get Moses in and shift out Fergy to get playing subs for Xmas.....Right?

    i'm mega tempted to punt on vermaelen as captain this week, villa are god awful on set pieces and he must be the best defender in the league for attacking headers? need to make up some ground (lots of ground actually) and can't see too many people risking that when Ba, RVP, etc have decent fixtures! wish me luck!!!
