John Terry suffers a training ground Achilles scare but is expected to be fit for Thursday’s trip to Spurs. Jamie O’Hara is still unavailable for Wolves ahead of tomorrow night’s home game with Norwich, while the injuries continue to mount up for Steve Kean:

Wolves confirmed earlier today that both Jamie O’Hara and Dave Edwards are out of tomorrow night’s game against Norwich. The pair missed the weekend defeat at home to Stoke but O’Hara had initially been expected to be fit for the Canaries game. Given he has averaged over 9 points per game in his last three Molineux fixtures, his loss is a significant blow for both Mick McCarthy and Fantasy managers alike.

The injuries continue to rack up for Blackburn’s under-fire boss Steve Kean. Gael Givet is set for a spell on the sidelines, with the club announcing he is to undergo minor heart surgery, though Kean doesn’t expect his length of absence to be too prolonged. Scott Dann is also out for an estimated period of 6 weeks– the centre-half injured his groin in the process of scoring his side’s equaliser against West Brom and is to undergo an operation. Kean does, however, expect Junior Hoilett to be available for tomorrow night’s visit of Bolton.

Chelsea’s open training session today saw John Terry helped off the pitch after suffering what appeared to be an ankle problem. The club physios have since said he tweaked his Achilles but the Blues skipper is expected to be fit for Thursday’s trip to Spurs. David Luiz and Ramires both sat out training, with the pair having missed the visit to Wigan at the weekend.

The omission of Darren Bent from Aston Villa’s first XI against Liverpool yesterday came as a surprise to many. Bent’s subsequent Christmas shopping trip as his side went down 2-0 raised more than a few eyebrows, though, and led Alex McLeish to insist there has been no falling out between the pair. With Gabby Agbonlahor also out due to suspension, Villa were forced to field Emile Heskey and Nathan Delfouneso up front and never threatened Kenny Dalglish’s side throughout the ninety minutes. Big Eck explained post-match:

Darren had a scan during the week. It confirmed he had a grade one injury, I didn’t reveal it because I wanted to keep things back from Liverpool. You have to understand that. I didn’t want Liverpool knowing our starting line-up. Darren was injured. Bent was in for two hours’ treatment this morning and was told to rest at home. He went home and watched the game but near the end he went out to collect some Christmas presents. End of story.

Johan Djourou limped out of Arsenal’s game against Manchester City yesterday with a groin injury. Djourou was replaced after 46 minutes by Ignasi Miquel and with Arsene Wenger estimating the Swiss international is likely to be out for 21 days, it’s fair to say the Gunners have something of a defensive dilemma right now. Kieran Gibbs has an outside chance of making it for the game at Aston Villa but barring that, Miquel could well continue at left-back, with Thomas Vermaelen moving back to the centre and Laurent Koscielny out right.

Is it worth using my free transfer this week to do Bale OUT, Adam IN?

Obviously I'll wait until the last minute, but if Bale is looking like he's not going to start can I do any better than Adam for the next 3 gameweeks for 8.8m or less?

Risky then. If you had VDV or Ade, would be alot easier to do. But over the next few weeks, can see Adam doing aswell as Bale. If you can afford the price difference, i would take the gamble

    Folks,

could you quickly Rate My Team - if you do not like it, what would you change.

    Vorm (Krul)

Naylor / Simpson / Jones (Jags, Evans)
VDV / Mata / Silva / Nani (Gower)
    RvP / Ba / Sturidge

Already did my transfers for this week (Evans and Nani in for ShawX and Walters).

Can I leave it like this?

Why? I get in Rooney instead of Adebayor and i think he will outscore him over the next few weeks. JEvans is the same as Smalling but cheaper and although Shotton isn't as good as Jones, Stoke have some nice fixtures coming up and he is good for a cheap defender.

The after this over the next few weeks i will do; Baines -> Assou Ekotto, Ba -> Sturridge & Reo-Coker -> Walters.

Rooney is still not a must imo. He is very expensive.. And Adebayor, Ba and Sturridge are also scoring goals. Jones is playing as a midfielder, you don't want to ship him out.. He is lokking great and could get goals/assist.

That's where you're wrong. I'm cursing myself for choosing RvP over Rooney when I started playing again. Mark my words, Rooney will at least bring 10 more points than RvP before the January wildcard, and he's cheaper.

4 pts to get rid of Jones & Smalling and Adebayor with a double GW coming up? Not worth it just for Rooney.

I prefer the above moves. If I get Rooney I'll be funding it through Silva --> Walters. Most won't be keen on that but something to consider.

I have Bale, VDV and Ade. I'm wondering if that's overkill. We looked a bit sluggish on Sunday. Really fancy getting Verm in and Bale's the only way of freeing up cash.

I like the look of Drenthe & Verm, which is why they're in my team, but I wouldn't be removing Bale, still a good chance he'll play vs Chelsea, and if not, it's not worth transferring someone out because he misses 1 GW. Stick.

I don't have a wildcard, that's why it's a scenario, mate. 😉 But I'm having trouble with my one FT, so I hoped this would give me a few thoughts to mull. Apparently you aren't of the helpful kind, though.

I'd do Rooney without blinking. I think FFS is too blinded by past fixtures, and RVP will see a downperiod compared to Rooney who will be on the rise again.

And, Vorm in goal. 🙂 The dude has given me 74 points. 😀

Who are the best 4.0-4.5 defenders – if you look at fixtures (clean sheets), team form and attacking skills until the January wildcard?

Would you recommend using the main budget in offense, defense or midfield until January?

Is Drenthe / Walters (Larsson) a better pair than Nani / Gower?

And lastly: Drenthe / Walters / Rooney or Nani / Gower / Ba?

Jonjo Shelvey attempted a shot every 16.6 mins. He had a shot on target every 41.5 mins Suarez next w/shot every 24.6 mins.

    Interesting.

He has to absolutely nail down a place for me to consider him... other wise you'll be constantly worried about 1pt cameos, which he'll inevitably get if Kenny decides to start Carroll.

If you own Bale, what are you doing?

Holding him with backup on bench if he misses Thursday, or shipping out for maybe 3 games and bringing back in for DGW?

You'd surely want Sturridge for GW18 so like mentioned it's 2 transfers.

It's a sideways move at best.

Downgrade Aguero to Sturridge and upgrade Sinclair to someone like Nani/Valencia/Mata.
