Gareth Bale is “very doubtful” for Spurs game against Chelsea. Emmanuel Adebayor has a foot problem but is expected to play. John Terry and Ramires are passed fit for the clash, while Jamie O’Hara is sidelined for up to six weeks after undergoing hernia surgery:

Andre Villas-Boas had some positive news on the injury front in this afternoon’s press conference. Both John Terry and Ramires are available for tomorrow night’s trip to Spurs, though David Luiz has been ruled out, having failed to recover from a knee problem.

Chelsea have also this afternoon confirmed their Boxing Day clash with Fulham will take place at the scheduled time of 1pm. The game had been under review due to the proposed industrial strike on the London Underground but after consideration, the club have made the decision to go ahead as planned.

Harry Redknapp’s Press Conference was a little more pessimistic in terms of injury news. Although the Spurs boss admitted Aaron Lennon’s hamstring problem is not as bad as first feared, he has concerns over the availability of key players ahead of the Chelsea game, with Gareth Bale the main concern:

Gareth’s struggling at the moment. He hasn’t been able to train. He’s very doubtful. It normally takes six or seven days for Ledley’s knee to go down, so we’ll have to wait and see how it is today and tomorrow. He’ll be 50-50 at best I would imagine. Jermain, again, has a bit of a hamstring. He thinks he’s got a chance, but the physio isn’t keen on him taking a chance. Ade’s got a foot problem, we’ll see how he is. He can’t train today, but we’re hopeful. He doesn’t miss too many games.

Jamie O’Hara is set to miss the next 4-6 weeks after undergoing double hernia surgery. The midfielder was sidelined for the weekend home game against Stoke with a calf injury but the club’s official website revealed today that O’Hara has been bothered with a hernia problem for some time and the decision has been made to operate, thus ensuring he is 100% fit for the rest of the campaign.

Johan Djourou and Kieran Gibbs are both out of Arsenal’s trip to Aston Villa this evening. Arsene Wenger had expected the latter to be available but Gibbs has suffered a setback, meaning either Thomas Vermaelen or Ignasi Miquel could start at left-back. Djourou’s absence means Laurent Koscielny is likely to be fielded at right-back, with Bacary Sagna and Carl Jenkinson still both sidelined.

I'd like to know a black persons view on the Suarez situation. Currently listening to Talk Sport where a bunch of white blokes are patting themselves on their back about how good this multi cultural country is in accepting all cultures and how foreigners should be educated in our anti racist stance.

So you are fed up that people are choosing to focus on racial subjects today? Why are you responding to it, if you want to focus on football right now, there are plenty other discussions on here that you can join. Its really crazy the stuff I read here. "Stop discussing racism, I dont want to discuss it" - seriously, is it always just about "you"

As opposed to the 10,000 RMTS of the same exact team being posted over and over and over and over and over. As opposed to is Rooney better than Van Persie over and over and over and over and over. Seriously, discussion is good - life isnt just about "OMG Ba or Van Persie, I just cant decide!!" - get a life

Well those things are annoying but at least they're fantasy football related.

What's the point anyway? You really think anyone's views are going to be affected on a matter as important as racism as a result of some anonymous pleb's comment on a fantasy football website?

Not once did I tell anyone, stop with the repetitive and annoying RMT's. Not that RMTS are annoying, but asking the same question over and over can be. I dont get annoyed though because I just focus in on the conversation I want to. The fact that members of a FF site discuss a social issue that is currently related to the subject shouldnt be such a big deal. But im sure as you are stuck at work and have to weed through these conversations in the 5 minutes you are allowed to surf the net, while wanting desperately to debate on wether Bendtner is or isnt truly shit, is absolutely killing you. I sympathize.

That's very rich considering the England captain is facing criminal charges over racism.

It doesn't matter where you are in the world, if one person looks different - be it skin colour, hair colour, height, weight, whatever - someone else is going to take the piss.

It's just about making sure that actual discrimination is dealt with strongly.

In both the Terry and Suarez cases, I don't think either are racists, they were just being WUMs, but after the abuse that black players suffered here in the 80s, and still do in other countries, zero tolerance is the best policy.

Promoted teams end of season outcome, rate 1,2,3:

Swansea are very organized and 8 clean sheets for a promoted team is incredible. Wait until Graham starts scoring more and this team could finish in the top 10.

Funny how QPR was supposed to be the best team out of the 3 promoted teams, did the most spending and but are inconsistent. Seem to have the better balance between defense and offense.

Norwich are very entertaining to watch, they have a go regardless of opposition. Rotate squad very well and keep players fresh specially midfield. If they don't fix their defense they will suffer.

    I say:

    1. Swansea
    2. QPR
    3. Norwich

I think it's great that Swansea are doing so well in the league, and that they've managed to transfer their 'fortress' reputation from league to league, but the few matches I've seen of them they've been really quite boring. Good for them - it works and will keep them in the Prem - they can work on getting more creative midfielders in later seasons, but right now I'd rather watch Norwich or QPR.

That's wise. Would do the same myself except Naylor and Williams are always going to start at home, so I figure it's only worth having one expensive defender, with two other cheapos to work into the rotation. I really try to avoid the problem of not wanting to bench my defenders. I don't get how people can have 4 expensive defenders - seems rather illogical to me.

As a result of Bale not playing, Assou seemed to get forward even more on Sunday and was unlucky not to score (VDV got in the way of his shot and knocked it wide!)

If Ade misses tomorrow, it should be good news for us VDV owners! But not such good news if both Pav and Ade start! Hate seeing VDV wide right...

True, BAE seemed to play a more attacking role. I don't think this might be the case against Chelsea though. I have BAE as my first sub and with the uncertainty of some players getting a rest he might come of the bench.

EFC battered Nor and should of won...Swansea sat back and sat back V The Toon so I can only see one outcome.....an EFC win......surely not another Vorm masterclass?

I think Utd will win V Fulham without to much hardship.

You watched the first half? Football is all about each persons own viewpoint of course but EFC were all over them, esp in the first half...chance after chance...any review will tell you that as well...but they held out well and nicked a cheeky goal. Prob not so much in the second half...but EFC should of run out winners by a mile.

Also Ba goes to bolton who are still rubbish even though they lost last night so he has a potential points haul there especially with cabaye back in the team for that match

Thinking the same - but have a 0.1m buffer even with Sturridge's price rise tonight, so going to wait I think. This time of year, I would keep your options open for as long as possible - 0.1m is nothing compared to getting hit with a last minute injury.

you make an interesting point Somalion...maybe the FA have opened a can of worms...what if one player called another: "a white trash Jewish piece of shit?" would he be subject to the same (maybe criminal) investigation and subsequent ban?

On another note, violent conduct with intent warrants a 3 match ban and calling someone a name deserves 8...what does that say about our culture?

True enough. The whole thing is open to abuse really. I do agree that an 8 match ban for a racial comment while a 3 match ban for violent conduct is not right. What's more is, how long until a white player violently injuring a coloured player becomes about racism? It's all a very dicey situation, people who use that type of talk should be punished. No doubt. But at what point do we cross from treating each other equally and with respect into the realms of overly punishing these incidents? Things like racism will always be fraught with such problems. I'd be interested if, as you said above, religious intolerance will become a factor too.

Its possible, that with two wide men potentially out 'Arry may play Walker RW as he's quick and can put a decent cross in. Not sure what the situation is though.

he may play Pienaar wide right and play BAE wide left (or he may play SP there and NK on the right)

          Walker Kaboul Gallas BAE
          Krancjar Modric Parker Pienaar
          Adebayor Defoe
is that line-up possible? If so, I think it'll be that. I have a feeling Bale will make it though and play.

Am I the only one who is now starting to shift more money to the defence, and taking it out from the midfield. Whenever you look at value at the end of the season quaility defenders are always high up. However at the start of the season there are never many cleansheets. I feel now is the time to start changing the formation to perhap 4-3-3

need some advice, one of guys in my mini league is saying that his teams has had sub made last week without his knowledge. I am assuming the only way that could have happened was if someone got hold of his password. (he brought in Pilkington Norwich and who would do that by choice).
My though is only option is to allow him to make swap back and unofficially add 4 points on at end of season for mini league. can anyone think of anything else.
Normally wouldnt bother as he is leading but he was in a coma for first 4 weeks of season, (how bad is it when someone in a coma is beating you)
    help appreciated

Is Ba to Rooney via an 8 point hit worth it? I would be taking out Mata for someone like Surman.

Krul, Kompany, Jones, Enrique, Bale, Mata, Silva, Nani, Ba, Yakubu, RVP

    Subs: Simpson, Moses, N Taylor

nah. personally, I think you go with either RvP or Rooney, unless you're team is set up with both already its too much shuffling to fit them both in.

that in combination with the hits you have to take across your team to accommodate them I'd say its a no-no

All that debating of Bale > Drenthe or Mata and Wilkinson > Drenthe and Verm and i end up doing neither of them.

I'm gonna start being more ruthless with my transfer hits. 4 point hits are nothing this season with the goalscorers always likely to get bonuses.
