[sbu_large_image] The Knee Jerk

And relax. Even before tomorrow night’s top of the bill clash at the Lane, this is no ordinary gameweek. Wednesday’s avalanche of goals and assists left us breathless at times, as United and City ruthlessly exposed opponents who simply looked out of their depth. And yet, as anticipated in yesterday’s preamble, there were cruel barbed surprises packaged amongst the night’s bounty of points.

The goals flowed, with popular Fantasy properties delivering – Nani, Sergio Aguero, Robin Van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Demba Ba – all players that boast huge ownerships throughout the Fantasy games, came good. Incredibly, the defenders also got in on the act: clean sheets for City, United, Liverpool and even Everton, brought profits at the back, on a night of handsome attacking hauls.

For some however, the clean sheets were soiled. The jaw injury sustained by Phil Jones will have robbed many of rewards from United’s win – a potential absence, with early reports already suggesting six weeks – will perhaps hit harder than the points lost. We await news from tomorrow’s x-rays, keeping the knees from jerking until we have confirmation.

The withdrawal of Micah Richards on 58 minutes was even more sickening. Feeling the effects of Dean Whitehead’s studs down his calf, the raiding right-back was preserved by Roberto Mancini, just two minutes from claiming his Fantasy owners a clean sheet from City’s oh-so comfortable win.

Twenty-four hours ago, we discussed such twists. The injustice will be hard to swallow right now, but those who felt the sting of tonight’s events, can be assured that these won’t be the last curveballs thrown. Off to the Lane.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Krul Ruddy
    Baines Evans Simpson Naylor McAuley
    Nani VDV Walcott Moses Formica
    RVP Adebayor Ba

2 FT, 0.1m in the bank. Need to make changes today that are good for the next 2 weeks as I'm away.

I'm tempted to downgrade Baines and bring Valencia for Formica rather than break up my strike force for Rooney. Although im tempted by Ba -> Sturridge as it's for the next 2 weeks.

I was at this game last night. A shame it was the last match before the winter break. Wish the referee had just disobeyed the rules and not sent Esteban off, Verbeek wouldn't have taken them off then.

He wouldn't have done it tho if esteban hadn't been sent off. Verbeek has always been a controversial character. He was already annoyed about some decisions going against his team in the match so that would've also been a factor

Same thing happened in one the lesser leagues( conference or like) a couple of months ago, ref sent player off for tackling streaker, got sent off, game played on. Slightly different as it was just a streaker.

      Good front 3.
Bale will miss the Chelsea game but should be good for the weekend.
Dyer - well you have to bench one of your front 8 anyway.
I think you have the luxury of a defensive change.

Jones + De Laet out for Enrique + 1 other.

    Could do with some help:

    Krul Kenny
    Baines Jose Walker Evans Caulker
    Silva VDV Drente Dyer O'hara
    RVP Ade Ba

Baines has to go, not sure who mind? I could downgrade Baines then upgrade O'hara to Mata/Valencia?

What is the Ade yellow flag for anyhow?

Surely you keep Baines for the DGW?

He's been playing well most of the season yeah. Earlier on in the season when the bandwagon failed it wasn't like he wasn't getting chances and did hit the woodwork a few times if I recall correctly.

Saw the second half, he was good, but I was a little shocked, did 3-4 brilliant runs and some lovely crosses..
I'll email Arsene Wenger and urge him to do a straight swap - Moses for Arshavin.

was planning on using my 2 ft's this week to get rid of lamps (dont ask) & ba for rooney & a midfielder. if jones is out for 6 weeks i'll take a 4 point hit to remove him aswell. my question is would you go with j.evans in for jones or get in valencia in midfield & have nani, valencia & rooney?

at his price you just HAVE to have evans. as much as you'd want 3 united attackers, where else are you going to get the kind of CS potential evans offers at 4.something.

doesn't seem to be any reason to wait on jones. it seems pretty certain he'll be out for a while. 4th most transferred out player today, so price will drop.

with your 3 fit defenders being newc, stoke, tot, you're not exactly in a situation where you have the luxury of waiting to replace jones, imho.

    Jones owners, whachadoing?

Jones to Evans looks the best case for me. Evans is nailed on for the next few games, and gives me a nice 2.3 in the bank (including 0.4 profit on Jones).

If out for a few weeks his price will fall. Acting this week means I get to keep his profit and get him back at a cheaper rate in Feb....its a perfect scenario....well, for me, not poor Jones.
