Early reports are suggesting that Rafael Van der Vaart could be out until the New Year with further hamstring problems.

The Dutchaman was replaced at half-time in Thursday night’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea with the suggestion that Van der Vaart had aggravated his hamstring once again. This was later confirmed by Harry Redknapp in his post-match comments.

“He just seems to have a hamstring problem all the time. He is a great player but we need to keep him fit.”

The BBC article reports that, when quizzed whether Van der Vaart would be missing beyond the end of 2011, Redknapp replied…

“Yes, it looks that way.”

Presumably scans of the injury will follow, with a full prognosis hopefully on offer well before Tottenham’s visit to Norwich on December 27. Right now however, Van der Vaart’s involvement in that game, and even Tottenham’s double gameweek fixtures with West Brom and Everton on January 3 and 11, currently look in doubt.

Still claiming over 10% ownership in the Fantasy Premier League, Van der Vaart will surely suffer heavy sales in that game. His price dropped below his initial value to 9.9 only this gameweek; we can expect a further decline if a term of absence is confirmed.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Evans, Enrique, Smalling
    Walters, Yaya, Mata, Nani
    RvP, Ba, Ade

    Krul, Drenthe, Naylor, Wilko

i guess my only dilemma is, do i play Naylor at home and double up on SWA?
if so, who do i drop?

or do you see any other glaring problems?

Its to get in Nani, so unable to mix them up

if i ship baines, bale has to go - aguero and its walters (or drenthe)

      alternatively though:

      -8 pts and beans/walters/aguero ➡ vermicelli/nani/sturridge

And all this talk is irrelevant. Surely every striker wants to score in every game. Needing to break a record won't make it any more likely to happen. In fact it could make him tighten up?!

I have a similar squad thus a very similar conundram. VDV > Bale is an obvious one but also need to rid of Ramsey who's done very little for some time now.

I'd stick with Walters who has a fair run coming up.

does FPL get credit for each time a page on which they have paid advertisers gets loaded?

if so, this could be the reason for such a late release of any BPs. the longer they delay, the more people sit around loading and reloading the page, leading to more perceived traffic for the advertisers.

obviously a bit cynical, but boy am i ready to see some BPs!

I think the people who do PPI do it for their own nefarious purposes elsewhere on the PL website. FPL are just using that to base the bonus points on. So they have to wait for the PPI ppl to show up for work.

i notice that you're in a non-competitive position in your H2H league with a fairly comfortable victory on the cards, so BPs really don't mean much to you.

perchance there are some out there whose primacy in their H2H leagues at Christmas depends upon how BPs fall? and perchance there is money riding on who sits top at Christmas?

i mean, that's just one scenario. if you exercised the old noodle a bit, i bet you could answer your own question!

Could do with some impartial advice guys. I've been agonising over this one for 2 weeks now and can't make up my mind.
I currently have Adebayor, RVP and Sturrudge up top.

Theres no way in the world i'll be going into the next two games without getting Rooney in, and i won't be dropping RVP. But i can't decide who to sell, Adebayor or Sturridge.

Taking all factors into consideration, Spurs Double in GW 20... Chelseas next 2 home games (FUL, AVL,) vs spurs next 2 tricky away games (nor, swa).... Sturridge in better form, but Adebayor less likely to be rested over Christmas, differing prices and money to be saved.

1.) Which would you sell to get Rooney in?
2.) Would you even bother with Rooney?
3.) Is it worth selling Adebayor and using another transfer getting him back in for the double?

    Cheers folks.

    From the Press conference

Sir Alex has delivered good news on Phil Jones. "Phil should be okay for Monday. There's a bit of swelling in his jaw but no break, no fracture, which is good news."

Ashley Young will be out for longer, though. "It's not so good for Ashley Young. He'll be out for a few weeks."

On the general state of injuries: "As we get one player back, we're losing one. It's not an easy spell for us, but we just have to get on with it."

    Anyone sell Jones?

Excellent news thanks, and no I didn't sell. Solves my dilemma as to what to do about Evans too. Simpson > Evans time I think.

i just saw Johnson goal for MC vs SC
just wondering, isn't silva suppose to get an assist for that?
he lost the ball in the box then whitehead pass it outside of the box and johnson took a shot

just like what rooney got before during the first few week

There was a Stoke touch after it came out of the area, before he hit the shot. Otherwise totally worthy of 3pts in the crazy world they live in.

    RVP(WOL)
    Nani(WIG)

can i give half an armband each? just get 50% more points from each? Whats so wrong with that? I will even forgo my right to a vice captain.
