Early reports are suggesting that Rafael Van der Vaart could be out until the New Year with further hamstring problems.

The Dutchaman was replaced at half-time in Thursday night’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea with the suggestion that Van der Vaart had aggravated his hamstring once again. This was later confirmed by Harry Redknapp in his post-match comments.

“He just seems to have a hamstring problem all the time. He is a great player but we need to keep him fit.”

The BBC article reports that, when quizzed whether Van der Vaart would be missing beyond the end of 2011, Redknapp replied…

“Yes, it looks that way.”

Presumably scans of the injury will follow, with a full prognosis hopefully on offer well before Tottenham’s visit to Norwich on December 27. Right now however, Van der Vaart’s involvement in that game, and even Tottenham’s double gameweek fixtures with West Brom and Everton on January 3 and 11, currently look in doubt.

Still claiming over 10% ownership in the Fantasy Premier League, Van der Vaart will surely suffer heavy sales in that game. His price dropped below his initial value to 9.9 only this gameweek; we can expect a further decline if a term of absence is confirmed.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

One more comment on the Suarez case: I know many are tired of it, but its driving me nuts, especially from Liverpool fans:

    1) Suarez not a racist
    2) Suarez was out of order
    3) Ignorance is not equal to innocense
    4) Daglish is not a leader

Point 4 being the most important, Liverpool will go nowhere with KK. If a member of your team is being accused, you can support them in many ways. But allowing one mans battles get in the way of the organizations objectives is just plain bad leadership. Perhaps if the team wasn't so busy planning the T shirt publicity stunt, they could have focused more on beating a crappy wigan team. If Suarez is distraught by this, howabout forcing him to take the day off instead of being harrassed even more in front of a hostile away crowd. Howabout teaching Suarez and becoming more of a father figure and gaining loyalty from your player by showing him his errors and making tough decisions that true leaders have to make. The way Ronaldo grew up with Ferguson. Howabout telling Suarez that you know he is not racist, but he needs to understand that he needs to act in the teams best interest and what he said, wether intentional or not was wrong. "Take it on the chin Luis, we know you didnt intend it, but it was wrong, and the team is gonna suffer for that - hopefully you make it up when you come back but I think its best you sit out these games, you are in no mental condition to play and we need to be at our best. We will support you in whatever you choose, but we cant allow it to affect our organizations performance."

Instead, KK acts like a parent aquiesing the brat child that needs to get his way. I mean, who is the leader of this team KK or Suarez. I love Luis Suarez as a player, but simply put - Liverpools reaction, the whole T shirt bit, and KK attitude have been nothing short of embarassing for the team. It looks like the organization should invest a few mil on better PR associates.

You definitely dont - but there are many paying tons of cash that they cant even probably afford, in order to go watch these losers kick a ball for millions of dollars, and the second some bullshit even happens in their life, its f*ck the fans, lets defend Luis. Liverpool is much bigger than Luis or KK, so f*ck all these unappreciative as*h*les that dont understand that people are paying you in one season more than they will ever see in their lifetime for you to play your heart out and leave the b*llsh*t at home. Luis needs to grow up, and people shouldnt defend these ungrateful millionaires. I could be the biggest hardcore racist in the world and I would just shut the f8CK up to get paid what they get paid - You dont care but you should - Its much more relevant than you think

stop worrying about what others make and how others act. im sure you would be super stoked to get paid millions to play a game, but you know what? you suck at that game. me too. and like 5 billions other people who kick soccer balls (footballs, you brits invented the word soccer so...) i used to be like you, then i got a wife, baby, house, and i dont give a sh!t what star athletes make or do. they are not you and they are not us, they are better, and are in the spotlight. and they are dicks and their managers are dicks with power.

      tl;dr.

No seriously, LFC have embarrassed themselves with their stance, statement and the T-Shirts. If Suarez if shown to be innocent after further evidence - fine, but now he is deemed to be guilty.

On the field, they have the best defence in the league and look a source for clean sheets (Enrique looks a good buy). Attack wise, they are very wasteful and very average. Too much faith in Henderson and Adam isn't producing what he can. The fact that Shelvey comes back on loan from Blackpool and comes straight into the team highlights their lack of depth and quality. Kuyt and Downing and even Maxi are all average at best. Bellamy lack temperament and Suarez loves the woodwork it seems.

      6th at best.

Torres has 2 goals and 1 assist in 555 minutes. 8 of 12 appearences were under 60 minutes, 4 of them under 15 minutes. Suarez in 1364 minutes has 5 goals and 3 assists. If they played the same amount of minutes and taking their averages - Suarez would be ahead of Torres by .1 goals and a whopping .55 assists. Dont get me wrong, Suarez a great player, and am expecting much more from him - but at some point, forwards need to score(isnt that the standard that Torres is held to). As for LFC, Suarez has a long way to go to do for the Club what Torres has done.

Anyone have experience with DGW? Some advice on this craziness would be greatly appreciated....

I want to get 3 TH & 3 EV players so the team would look like this:

    Al Habsi
    Baines - Jagielka - BAE
Drenthe - Bale (VC) - Nani - Walters
    Ade (C) - RVP - Sturridge

    (Vorm / Vermaelen, Gower, Enrique)

To achieve this, I will do the following on GW20 for 2 FT & -4 hit:

Silva > Bale (no value lost)
Jones > Baines (around 0.4 value lost)
Shawcross > Jagielka (no value lost)

Baines a definite possibility for 1 clean sheet and likely to score offensive points between the 2 games - likely bonus as well. Wouldnt be surprised to see him hit a 17 point week. One clean sheet one goal 3 bonus and 2 for playing

I'm confused in terms of defenders.

Do you think Everton get a CS home to Bolton? Probably, but if they don't, you're hoping they don't at Spurs and could end up get 0 for example.

I can't see it working - either your attackers score and defence suffers or the attack dries up and the defence get CSs.

anyone remember birmingham's TRIPLE GW last year? think it wound up only being a double. but they had 3 DGWS last year, and every time, people got nothing out of bringing in Birm, save for maybe Foster.

my advice: dont bend over backwards for toffees. 3 TOT and 2 EVE would be more than enough. 3 TOT and 1 EVE would be completely acceptable.

It is absolutely not worth it to have 3 players from everton. I really dont reckon they will have a clean sheet against tottenham and they just don't look good in front of goal. So unless you are planning a quick wc, you might rethink that becuase you are looking at an avg gw21 when they take on aston villa.
Keep osman and baines\jagielka from everton. No one else.

      No way.

For a start, 8 point hits i would only consider if i have 3-4 players injured. A 12 point hit? You're loco dude!

Plus, Walters has nice fixtures coming up

    Ba + VDV > Suarez + Mata (-4pt hit)

I get Suarez has been slacking in goals, there's drama with the ban, liverpool look mediocre at beast but he's getting chances, nobody in my league has him, his next two games are great and I will be switching to ade for dgwk20. Ba could very well score well v Bolton but I think my 4pt's will be more than covered over the next two with Mata and Suarez...please RMT! Cheers!

I really think someone with some sense will convince Dalglish to sit suarez out for now - One big potential punt in GW 19 would be Stevie G. Can see Downing Crossing to Caroll heading back to Stevie G for quite a few. Stevie G playing off of Carroll, and Liverpool will score alot more as a team than current team

I think suarez will continue to play tbh, who knows when stevie g is back, he wont be consistent 70+ min for a while I think. suarez has the full backing of the club and manager and will be milked for everything he's got until the ban is in place. just my opinion though...plus with his attitude if he's benched hell prob throw in a transfer request!

quick question: Is it sensible for me to be angry when one of my best mates snogs my ex girlfriend?
It's hard to get angry at him but I am.

anyway, besides that this has been a fantastic week.
