The decorations are up on the site, but normal service rolls on. The Team News section was fully populated in the last 24-hours and will continue to be updated today and even tomorrow, with any last minute scraps.

Yesterday’s big news concerned Phil Jones’ jaw, with the United’s Mr Versatile looking likely to take to the field when Wigan come visit Old Trafford. Elsewhere, Chelsea look set to be forced into a defensive shuffle, which may even see Jose Bosingwa or Paulo Ferreira alongside John Terry, if David Luiz fails to overcome his knee injury. We’re not quite sure which is the lesser of those potential evils.

Meanwhile, Man City have minor doubts over both Micah Richards and Edin Dzeko before their trip to the Hawthorns, with Adam Johnson having major doubts over his City future. Let’s hope the bench at West Brom is a comfortable one.

The Scout Picks will follow on this evening, with several articles scheduled to arrive between then and now. We’ll keep you informed on all the latest, via the tweets.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I got rid of Jones after I heard he was ok-I still think he will not be risked and I really wanted Vermaelen in my team as well as Sturridge.

Enrique nailed on to start and has some attacking potential has not had any assists recently but has always looked good over 90 mins

Adam is on set pieces and gets into good positions but that may change with Gerrard coming back and lucas still injured

If you want to take a risk carroll could be a differential if/when suarez has his 8 game ban.

Team at the moment for GW18:

    Vorm(QPR)
    Enrique(BLA) Simpson(bol) Evans(WIG) Jones(WIG)
    Silva(wba) Nani(WIG) Bale(nor)
    RVP(WOL) Sturridge(FUL) Ba(bol)
    subs - Hennessey, B.Johnson, McAuley, O'Hara

Do you like any of these options? (I got 3.3m in the bank and 1 transfer)
    a) O'Hara > Walcott
    b) Ba > Adebayor
    c) Jones & Ba > Shawcross & Rooney (4 point hit)
    d) Jones & O'Hara > Mata & Huth (4 point hit)

Would quite like to do C myself as it's a bit more exciting but i worry that with O'Hara and B.Johnson in my midfield my squad may be stretched a little thin over this hectic period. Perhaps i should address that first as Ba is hardly a bad option to keep. Plus O'Hara looks like he'll be out for a while and i could do without his price plummeting! Could do:

    e) O'Hara > 7m MID and still have enough to bring Adebayor in for Ba at a later date.

Simply to finance big moves elsewhere. I don't really want to get rid of Jones but having 3 United players already it would need to be done if i wanted Rooney.

I actually fancy Spurs and Adebayor as much as anyone this weekend up at Norwich. Not sure whether or not i might be a week late doing Ba > Adebayor if i wait

Yep i think both are common problems around these parts at present. Makes me want to go for it and get Rooney. It would be for a hit (and i would lose Jones, AND it would leave my midfield threadbare!) but Wigan and Rovers at Old Trafford? The goal line has to be about 7.5 and i'm taking overs!!

          Walters.

I'm not just saying that because I have him. He's OOP playing as a striker, on penalties and never goes missing in matches. Don't know if you could say the same for the rest.

Long-time reader, first-time poster, looking for some help on what to do with my 2 FT this week!

    Westwood - (Ruddy)

Jones - Jose Enrique - Jagielka - (Simpson) - (Boyata)
    Lennon - Sinclair - Drenthe - Nani - (Moses)
Ven Persie - Suarez - Rooney
    0.1M in the bank.

I obviously need to get rid of Lennon, and Boyata looks to be dead weight as well. I want to do some kind of combination of Boyata/Lennon/Suarez for Shotton/Walters/Bale/Sturridge

why RVP captain or why nani??

RVP-- On ridiculous form, playing a team that ships a lot of goals. However Arsenal have not been killing teams as of late.

Nani--On great form playing a bad team at home and United ARE killing teams. The con however is that Wigan have kept chelsea to 1 and liverpool to 0....

Yeah. Althought Man U have been playing well of late and Fergue may not want to change much, but he also needs to give other strikers a chance and Welbeck only ever plays around 60 mins. Will most likely do it!

Have to downgrade Ben Arfa to a mid less than 5.1 to finance the move though. Thinking either a bolton or swansea mid. Joe Allen looks promising?

Surman seems to be getting a lot of love round here, probably as he frees up a hell of a lot funds.

I have Allen and he is not that bad, he gets forward a lot and hits the odd shot but never gets points as Swansea's attacking play is not penetrating enough.

    Hi folks,

Contemplating a 4pt hit to make up ground on a rival. Here's my current team and proposed changes:

    Krul (Foster)
    Enrique, Jones, Brown, Wilkinson, (Simpson)
    Silva, Bale, Sinclair (Jarvis, Moses)
    RVP, Suarez, Ba

    Jones -> Evans
    Jarvis -> Nani
    Suarez -> Sturridge

FYI not got enough spare cash to bring Nani & Sturridge in without downgrading someone else.

    Any thoughts much appreciated...

Can't you ditch Wilkinson for someone?

Not guaranteed to play even when everyone is fit and there is a doubt over his fitness for their game against Villa

I seriously don't think any of them will be, GW19 will be the week of rotation.
RVP will play, he has an extra days rest and wants that record
      Rooney will always play
Nani will play with Young out
Jones may be rested due to injury but I doubt it
Silva came off 20-30 minutes early as a rest, and will probably play this week, and get rested next with Liverpool came coming up
      Aguero always plays.
Walcott will play, unless Arshavin has a run-out 😐
Bale is a machine, and will play with Lennon out.
      There ya go 😀

    Who to play from these:

Walker (nor) – Norwich only had a blank 2/17 games so cs looks unlikely
Brown (EVE) – Everton not scoring much, chance of a cs
Simpson (bol) – Newcastle got most of their defence fit now, Bolton 3 blanks in last 6

I’m thinking Brown at home is the best option, opinions?

It depends on his price but probably not as he will probably be around 9m and will only be backup to RVP while Chamakh is at the ACON.

I'm a United fan and I still think he's the best player I have ever seen in the EPL and in flesh.

      we play 3 up front
one on the right, one on the left and RVP.

walcott, arshavin, park, oxlade and benayoun will be filling the spots on the flanks. he won't get much time(IF he does sign).

I'm worried he'll steal some of RVP's points! Doubt he'll be worth it, likely to be a rotation risk and he could be fairly expensive.

Was talking to my mate last night about starting a new type of league next season called the 5 percenters.
Basically we reckon it's kinda boring with everyone having Rvp, Silva, Enrique etc so we wanna play where youre restricted to players with less than 5% ownership and where you're obliged to sell once a player goes above the quota. Teams would vary far more and you'd have to be far more shrewd so i think there could be something to it.

    Could be fun 🙂

Christmas shopping done, time for some fantasy shopping with 2FT and .4 in bank

    Vorm
    Jones, Verm, Enrique
    Silva, Nani, Mata, HBA
    RVP (c), Ade, Ba

    Krul, Naylor, Walker, Dyer

I'm thinking I just do Dyer to Surman this week. Gets rid of an injured (and dropped anyway) bench player for one that should play and gives me the funds needed to get Drenthe and Sturridge next week for HBA and Ba.

      Good team.

Personally I would do HBA out before Dyer out as you are relying on HBA as a starter this week.

However you can't do a straight swap from HBA > Drenthe so bringing Surman in now may make sense.

HBA is the one weak link in the starting XI but it's week 4/4 of my punt on him so I want to play him. Bolton are terrible and with Newcastle getting 1 point from their last 3 good fixtures Pardew could make changes.
