As the official Fantasy Premier League version begun this week with over two million hopefuls, our very own Paddy Power Cup V was down the last 32. With no virtual coin toss nonsense to worry about here, let’s see how it panned out…

Top-score this week went to Mr Bungle, who battered Chris H 67 – 35. That was the widest margin of victory for the round by quite some distance.

In doubling his opponent’s score was, Declan came closest to that 32-point gulf, as he bossed lowest-scoring jinswick 44 – 22.

For the first time this season there wasn’t a single draw, with runty‘s 50 – 49 triumph over GreenWindmill the tightest affair.

Der-Hammer95 continued his fine form to reach the last 16 as the highest ranked fantasy manager in the tournament. His 54 – 38 drubbing of Peadarb was enough for another green arrow and 181st in the world.

The fixtures for the seventh round – taking place in Gameweek 19 – will be announced in due course, along with important Quarter-Final news.

Congratulations to this week’s winners, and commiserations to those leaving the competition at this stage.

          MSD will say-
We couldn't bat well bcoz the pitch was favouring the bowlers and we played some poor shots.
We will come back in the next match.

I agree India will come back better. But I just don't think India are anywhere near as good as its fans seem to think.

As I said, I'm sure they will come back. No offence, but one thing I've noticed is that many Indian fans are so often one-eyed supporters. There's always an excuse for losing...oh, the pitch wasn't flat enough, oh the ball didn't spin enough, oh the players were taking the tour as a free holiday, blah blah...heard it all before.

True. Indian cricket team can be compared to the England football team. A lot of hype is built around them. Only difference is England doesn't win any tournaments. Although India wins, I personally believe that India is made to win whatever they've won (World cup).

I know I can save it, but planning to use it to strengthen squad

I was planning to do Tiote-->Gower (strengthens bench among other things), but Ramsey might decline in value soon, and Brunt increase--was planning to make the Ramsey--> Brunt in a few weeks, but considering now moving it up

will probably bring back Paddy Kenny for Cerny soon too

      Hi Pompey and Circumstance

Don't get Gower, I'm trying to get rid 🙂

Ramsey (falling on FISO) to Brunt (Rising) looks OK and will also free up some funds for next week.

What's your plans for the DGW? as maybe two free transfers next week would be an advantage

FFScout: What’s your policy on double gameweeks? Load up or be prudent?

Chris: I guess it depends on the circumstances. Whilst they can be extremely lucrative they are just as likely to be a major let down. When looking at the DGW, I would always plan a few weeks ahead. I would generally only load up on DGW players if I was happy
to keep them for more than just that week eg. if they played for one of the top teams or
a team with a good run of fixtures. Otherwise I tend to avoid as, after the DGW is over, I
wouldn’t want my team full of players I wouldn’t normally consider. That said, I’m in no
position to comment on DGW strategy after captaining Jamie O’Hara during the last one.

In summary, load up on spuds and don't be tempted by toffees. It's the healthy choice after all....

The trend is to load a defender and couple of attackers from the Spurs and an attacker from the Everton team.

Yeah - they turfed it after the Auz/NZ series where Pattison won it ahead of a NZ player. It was a stupid idea - the home team player will usually win the MoM if it is decided by the public of the home country.

Well I know Swansea are really good at home ,but I still fancy spurs to score a couple .. and with the DGW next,I think its a good idea to have 3 spurs players in my squad..only concern is VDV though ,but doesnt make any sense to get rid of him now

FFS: What was your approach to the Double Gameweeks in general? Did you make a concerted effort to have at least “X” amount of players in your first eleven for these
weeks or were you mildly indifferent towards them?

Jon: Before FFS existed this was a well kept secret! The novice or part time players didn’t stand a chance when a few more obsessed fantasy managers had multiple players and a
captain playing twice, even “The Pundit” on FPL didn’t make a big deal of the double
gameweeks. It was almost like a flaw in the system they didn’t want to make a big deal
    out of.

But to answer your questions, yes I would transfer in a player weeks in advance to prepare for him playing twice and be sure to have 2 or 3 from each team.

Not about getting 'x' number of players in - more about picking players who will actually bag you points. Since Spurs have good fixtures as well as a good gameweek it makes sense to pick form players (or even VDV). The same cannot be said for Everton players, scoring an extra 2 points from their DGW is not worth it. Maybe keep Baines if you have him, other than that don't mess around with a good team to squeeze in a couple of toffees.

    MSD-
Our bowlers gave us a good start and there was a good partnership in 1st innings but we failed to capitalize.
We got off to a good start in 2nd Innings in bowling but Hussey, Ponting & OZs lower order played well.
We have always been shaky in 1st match of any series.
We will be slightly better in the next match.
