As the official Fantasy Premier League version begun this week with over two million hopefuls, our very own Paddy Power Cup V was down the last 32. With no virtual coin toss nonsense to worry about here, let’s see how it panned out…

Top-score this week went to Mr Bungle, who battered Chris H 67 – 35. That was the widest margin of victory for the round by quite some distance.

In doubling his opponent’s score was, Declan came closest to that 32-point gulf, as he bossed lowest-scoring jinswick 44 – 22.

For the first time this season there wasn’t a single draw, with runty‘s 50 – 49 triumph over GreenWindmill the tightest affair.

Der-Hammer95 continued his fine form to reach the last 16 as the highest ranked fantasy manager in the tournament. His 54 – 38 drubbing of Peadarb was enough for another green arrow and 181st in the world.

The fixtures for the seventh round – taking place in Gameweek 19 – will be announced in due course, along with important Quarter-Final news.

Congratulations to this week’s winners, and commiserations to those leaving the competition at this stage.

Will sell for Osman. I hold on VDV this far, I am obliged to keep him. Last year I was getting this kind of decision all the time and got rocket high in the rankings. Well I am looking his fixtures, I will want him back in GW 24, Nani and DVD will probably outscore him in the mean time. Osman too, Silva could be rested in one of the next 2, that is Osman 3 games vs Silva 1 and one cameo appearance.

He is not a captaincy option so he won’t do much harm. Mancini was talking against the fixture pile up, he benched him and before right? City are good in the home games well the next home games are against Liv when I will have Osman playing twice and against Tot. Away against Sun (the MON factor), Wigan ok that is good bet, but they will play for survival, I watched them against Che they were good actually and Eve away, the time of the period when they are coming good. Also I don’t see 3-4 goals in any of those games.

Hmmm… Was nice hanging around with you David and thank you for that armband previous GW.

Losing value: Yeah right I will lose 0.5m on him but he could go down in mean time, he has negative NTI few weeks now and I believe that I will earn them from my previously mentioned players in mean time. That is why the value is needed for, for this kind of decisions in the second half of the season. 108m is more than enough I believe that will become and 110m. Also if I must Croffts and Moses are 0.6 cheaper than Ferguson. That is the ultimate solution if I must. I will improve my defense why not and won’t have any benching headaches, I am not planing on this just saying if I need cash to bring Silva back and this is the last option.

Interesting points you made there. I also think Silva might get rested but thre is no point is trying to second guess what Mancini's plans are. I know he has hit a slump of late but until that run though, Silva had scored or assisted a goal in every game he had started bar one so let's not write him off just yet.

    Defence this week:

    Hennessey (bol)

BAE (swa) / Jones (BLA) / Hibbert (wba)

Defenders on bench: Vorm, Evans, simpson (liv)

Not confident of hibbert cleanie, so worth transferring out evans for a cheapie? only got him in last week for his zero points.

Only got 4.7m so looking at getting McAuley or one of shotton/wilkinson but unsure which of the stoke defs will get 60+ mins

I think so, but I think it won´t be for the full game. He may actually give that Ezekiel Fryers kid a go for another half. I might actually get him. It seems Valencia is giving him too much offensive output and width congruency w/ Nani to have him.

Problems: Fryers is a natural CB/LB, which means Jones might get the start on the right to accommodate him if played...but I doubt it as I'm sure Junior Hoilett is one of the only two problems (the other...the Yak). But you never know, Jones would know Junior's tendencies more than anyone...right?

I don't think SAF would trust Valencia to mark Hoilett with the quickness and pace, even though Valencia has pace. And a big ALSO, I think he will recruit Park to ball hawk him, Formica or Vukcevic.

Another BIG ALSO, Valencia could be a great asset in attacking MGP at LB, should Kean place him there again.

      Morning Jukesy,

Sorry for advise on your keepers last GW. I am actually going for Krul over Westwood this week. Liverpool have been struggling to score recently, and I see game vs Newcastle being a tight affair. Can't see a Sunderland cleanie.

As I am going Krul, I suggest you go Westwood 😮

Is it silly to plan a front eight all with players you wouldn't want to bench at most game weeks regardless of fixtures? Or if you did bench, all had to potential to backfire..?

I prefer to have a distinct first 7 attackers, with an 8th purely though as a cheap guarantee of at least 2 points if one of the others doesn't play for some reason. Rotation is ok for defenders/keepers, but always too tricky for attackers, I feel. (My current team isn't quite built like that as I've messed it up a bit with the dgw in mind, but planning to go back to how I like it come the w/c.)

    I have a team of:

    Vorm (Krul)
    Enrique Kompany Jones (Simpson) (Caulker)
    Sinclair Drenthe Nani Silva (Moses)
    Ade Sturridge RVP

I'm thinking that Bale is a must, especially with his upcoming double gameweek. I'm thnking of swapping Sinclair for Bale. But who should I drop to fund this? Kompany / Jones? I have 2 frees..
Alternatively, I could swap Silva for Bale, but would lose 1.0M in value, and i think Silva is a season keeper.

    Any suggestions?

I'm starting to think Baines has been worth it for targeted gameweeks. I've carefully got him in for good spells of Everton fixtures this season, and he's averaged 5.7 for me over 7 games. Take Silva for instance, who I've had all season, and has averaged 5.9 over all 18 games. Now obviously Baines has been rubbish for long spells, but carefully targeted he can be worth it. (Then again, he does tend to unbalance one's team in other ways, so that has to be taken into account.)

      b) Verm & Ramsey >- Baines & Drenthe

    Jones Simpson Walker (Wilkinson) (Evans)
    Drenthe Bale Silva Nani (Allen)
RVP Adebayor Ba (0.0M in the bank)

What would you say is the best move to make this week with 1 free transfer?

    1) Ba to Odemwingie or Morison (Anyone 7.2M or under)
    2) Ba and Evans to Sturridge and Shotton (4 point hit)
    3) Evans to Shotton

I know RVP really wants that goalscoring record, but also I think Wenger puts the team in first place, so a rest for his captain is in line. I want to captain him but I have high doubts. Other options would be Bale, Ade, Mata maybe?

I would go Mata. Great ppg at home and Villa look awful

agree with you on wenger,he wont give a rats ass about the record, think if rvp plays he will tear it up but scared of him not starting and wenger throwing him on if arsenal are chasing the game and him not having enough time to do anything! i have nani who is my second choice, you have sturridge, he could do well v wolves if you decide against rvp? im really not sure what il do!

Same keepers and I think I am going for Hennessey. Better chance of clean sheet and 3 save points in each his last 2 games. Although it is hard to bench Vorm at home

Same, but afraid that bolton won't get that many shots on target. So it's vorm if hoping saves, Hen for cs.

every time ive benched vorm it backfires.. but last couple of weeks hennessy been pulling bigger points than vorm on my bench.. anyone seen bolton recently? are they dangerous going forward?

Soho Square, 3pm. There are a lot of balls to be counted out so expect delays.
