It feels wrong and yet it’s so right. Another gameweek deadline under lights, so soon after the Boxing Day festivities. Then again, given the largely pathetic returns on offer in gameweek 18, we can’t wait to move on and scratch it from memory – lets bundle into the Matchday Surgery chatroom like desperate housewives hitting the sales…

There’s much to discuss. Having covered off the team news, our Scout Picks were unleashed with Robin Van Persie present and correct. The Dutchman goes into the gameweek with our endorsement then. He tops the Captain Poll, despite real concerns that his pitch time will be cut by a concerned Arsene Wenger, looking to wrap Van Persie’s formerly fragile limbs in cotton wool. We’re confident he’ll get some minutes however, and with the chance to wipe the smile from Alan Shearer’s face, surely QPR will let Van Persie walk a few in? You never really know with Neil Warnock.

Tonight’s Fantasy Premier League deadline is just over an hour away and, following that, Liverpool and Newcastle get the gameweek under way under the Anfield lights. At last the Christmas telly improves.

We’ll be back with the Dugout Discussion and team news prior to the kick-off.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

If in doubt, play the odds,
Swansea have a 16.9% chance of keeping a CS
Newcastle have a 16.1% chance of keeping a CS

if in doubt play the player at home...
    Swansea at home
    Newcastle away

I'm playing Vorm. It'll also ease the pain if both Bale and Ade fail to score/assist as it's likely that Spurs will also fail to score, therefore Vorm gets CS. If Vorm loses his CS the chances are Bale or Ade will be involved.

    Bench 1 - Sorensen Vorm
Bench 2 - Jagielka Gallas Enrique Woodgate Simpson

I have my own ideas but not so confident about which position Woodgate should be given and would appreciate any advice given. 🙂
