It feels wrong and yet it’s so right. Another gameweek deadline under lights, so soon after the Boxing Day festivities. Then again, given the largely pathetic returns on offer in gameweek 18, we can’t wait to move on and scratch it from memory – lets bundle into the Matchday Surgery chatroom like desperate housewives hitting the sales…

There’s much to discuss. Having covered off the team news, our Scout Picks were unleashed with Robin Van Persie present and correct. The Dutchman goes into the gameweek with our endorsement then. He tops the Captain Poll, despite real concerns that his pitch time will be cut by a concerned Arsene Wenger, looking to wrap Van Persie’s formerly fragile limbs in cotton wool. We’re confident he’ll get some minutes however, and with the chance to wipe the smile from Alan Shearer’s face, surely QPR will let Van Persie walk a few in? You never really know with Neil Warnock.

Tonight’s Fantasy Premier League deadline is just over an hour away and, following that, Liverpool and Newcastle get the gameweek under way under the Anfield lights. At last the Christmas telly improves.

We’ll be back with the Dugout Discussion and team news prior to the kick-off.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

      Heya mate, hows it going?
Saw you captaining Dempsey earlier, huge differential there, I didnt really read too much about ur comment though! That is a bit crazy but if it works its gonna be huge!
Im gonna be going for the correlation that Nani has been driven into, one game he does awesome the next he does shit. He is on for a gd'un!

Hiya man! things are going good thanks, just knackered again from the gym visit today lol.

Haha yeah Dempsey it is, was thinking of changing it last minute but thought nah, go with it, at leastthen it was my own decision if it turns out to be sour i guess, HUGE differential as you say :-).

Yeah Nani is the sound choice though, has to be, he'll play well i reckon, and only played 60 mins last game against wigan. Its a good correlation really, he does seem to go good bad, good bad, so he's on for it haha.

Ah well, all set and all done now, no turning back, jsut hope clint bangs in at least one! haha.

Played it safe with RVP, even if he doesn't start I am confident of at least a goal, and the week that's in it, I can't say the same for any of the rest of my lot, Nani was tempting, but, he has been a little streaky of late, has great potential to absolute slaughter Blackburn, but I don't have to take any risks with mini-leagues, RVP, do the right thing and break that record!

I'm with you. Wenger will give him the last 30 mins against a tired side if he doesn't start him.

There's no way RVP will start tomo imo with Fulham away a couple of days later. Wenger rested nearly his whole team in corresponding fixture last year. Not sure why people choosing him ahead of Nani.

      PS... same from me!

In the end, it doesn't matter. This week is really down to luck as no-one knows, despite the right choice being crowed by those at the end of the gw. On my part, I'd like Nani & RVP to get 1pt each as that would be a real laugh 🙂

Let's not forget what RVP (C) has done for us, even if he doesn't break this record he can still go for that well known 'most goals in a tax year' record soon.

A lot of people seem to have made a last minute switch from RVP to Nani, including myself!

As an Arsenal fan i'll be delighted either way if RVP bags his hattrick 🙂

RVP all the way. With Liverpool winning points are a must and with the rest of the goon about as sharp as butter knife in front of goal, dont be surprised he if plays today and rests against Fulham with Terry H starting!!
