Everton’s stuttering season, with a constant struggle in front of goal, has done little to boost the reputation of their Fantasy assets. While Tim Cahill and Louis Saha continue to frustrate with sporadic appearances and fragile form, Leon Osman has slowly emerged as a worthy Fantasy prospect on the eve of a double fixture in gameweek 20.

While the pace and direct running of Royston Drenthe has garnered most of the attention around Goodison Park recently, Osman has been quietly been going about his business. He has yielded double figure returns in two of the last three weeks and averages 8.66 points a game in that time. Osman’s recent goal scoring performances against Norwich and Swansea were both awarded maximum FPL bonus points – he is now Everton’s leading player in this area. A rather dubious assist for Leighton Baines’ penalty at Sunderland saw Osman’s returns continue to flow, and he goes into the double gameweek fixtures with Bolton and Spurs as David Moyes’ in-form attacking player.

At times, the diminutive midfielder has been in and out of Moyes’ lineup, but recent performances have cemented a starting role. Osman has played on the left of midfield, or up in support of a lone striker. This versatility, coupled with injuries and a lack of form elsewhere in the squad, should see him nailed-on for the forthcoming fixtures.

Drenthe is undoubtedly the explosive option in the Everton midfield, and with a price difference of 0.8, there are factors in favour of the Dutchman. Osman’s form is eye-catching however and, with Drenthe failing to complete 90 minutes in his last three starts, Osman appears to be the more secure and consistent choice.

    Vorm

    Jones, BAE, Shotton

    Nani, Bale, Silva, Larsson

    RVP, Ade, Sturridge

    OK so, not sure what to do here:

    1) Ba & Enrique --> Adebayor & Hibbert/Shotton/Warnock
    2) Valencia --> Modric (I know, but I can WC him out)
    3) Barnett --> Ekotto
    4) Rooney --> Adebayor
    5) Ba & Valencia --> Adebayor & Donovan
    6) Ben Arfa --> Donovan

    As you can see, I'm a bit confused - I'd appreciate your 2011 opinion. Thanks.

          Plenty of DGW coverage, Sporting imo. If you're looking for GW21 onwards, I'm planning on Naylor to a WBA def - better fixtures and potential cs. (Wigan, AVL and QPR have better fixtures but dont have any cs pattern).

    Verm's injury may be a blessing in disguise. Firstly, he provides a route to Baines (as opposed to just BAE) for the double and Arsenal have 1 appetising home fixture till March - versus CS destroyers Blackburn at the Emirates.

    Yet another transfer that was a f***ing waste of time.

    Was at Stamford Bridge today and I have to say Chelsea were so so short of ideas. Credit to Villa - superbly organised, and in Agbonlahor they have a real player - he literally went after Luiz the whole game and gave him a torrid time. N'Zog had a fine game, as did Stephen Ireland.

    Have BAE, Ade and Bale. Is it worth taking a hit to bring in Osman or Drenthe for Larsson?

    How do these trannies look? Both free:

    Given to Lindegaard, to fund
    Raylor to BAE

    Doesn't look like any of those 4 will rise/fall tonight so will leave it til after tomorrow's games.

      sensible. I'm looking at Lindegaard. Think he could end up playing more minutes than we envisage.

        I think so and Vorm is a capable backup for when De Gea is played.

    Anyone get any CS points today? Maybe one from a midfielder?

      No, they dropped two points so will need the best team out v West Brom, then give them a rest for the FA Cup game.
