As the made-up words of Auld Lang Syne drift off into the night, here at the Scout, we’d like to wish all our visitors a happy New Year!

Thanks to your support, we’ve been able to enjoy another superb twelve months. The new server setup that keeps us running on deadline day, the redesign, the Premier League columns – it’s been a fantastic year of progress once again.

We’re not quite sure what 2012 will have in store – although I am sure that we’re going to go on delivering the best Fantasy Football resource we can.

Plans are being hatched, progress already made behind the scenes. Ed our genius technical director is already playing with new toys. Pure Olivia is also working on new stuff and Sir Paulos is, as we speak, learning some new words. Commercial man Chris meanwhile, is finding some new pop-up adverts to annoy you all. It’s going to a big 2012!

A massive thanks goes to those guys and all the Scout contributors past and present – Granville, Andy, Akers, Greek Fan, Big Dunc, John, Money Mike, Anorak, Ryan Da Beeeez, Karl and Greg.

  I think people that are loading up on players for this double gameweek are making a huge mistake. You just can't go around buying maximum players everytime theres a DGW. Its beyond ridiculous and leaves too much of a horrible mess to sort out in the aftermath.

2 questions about next week

1) I'm fancying the idea of keeping ba against utd...Their defense has problems and I don't see other good options as Sturridge is in a bad form and needs a rest to be honest. Any ideas?

2) Who to captain in DGW Bale and Adebayor? Tottenham play on home twice and a crazy day from Bale could be enough but Ade is still the striker and is on pens so he'll definitely score goals too. Ideas?

People with Ba. Are you selling him this week or playing him against United. It's probably going to fold out in two ways. Either United defensive woes will continue or Fergie will drill them hard and possibly shut Newcastle out by 1 or 2 nil.

Thinking atm that ill play him but if i transfer him out ill probs go for Yakubu, Morrison or Helguson cause i have 0.0 in the bank and they are probs the best for that price range. Any suggestions?

    I will keep an eye on Spurs line up. I wanted Assou Ekotto but could not afford him and had Evans so I wanted to get Gallas in for the Swansea game as opposed to saving up for two transfers. This is because my replacement would have been Simpson and Newcastle had Liverpool away.
