Just a quick reminder to those competing in the Paddy Power Cup V – Round of 16 that the Quarter-Finals will take place over Gameweek 21, and not Gameweek 20, the deadline for which is tomorrow.

The Last 16 results will be published later in the week, along with the all-important Quarter-Final fixtures.

When are they going to post the next round of the cup? I want to look over my opponent's team before I bandwagon on Ireland like an idiot.

It's true, but there is a certain joy that only beating United at Old Trafford can bring! Pedersen was good the last time we did that so it's going back a fair bit lol

That Bolton game was so sad. Hoping these 2 games at Ewood don't see the same toxic atmosphere.

I suppose Dempsey IS playing Arsenal so in theory he's less likely to score (though almost infinitely more likely than Ramsey) plus you will be in the unfortunate position of cheering on an opposing player (who you swapped in for one of your own). You're gonna WC soon anyway so maybe you could take a punt on someone else and fix it to Dempsey if all goes wrong... Sess and Larsson look great.

Thanks both for the sensible plug for Valencia, is Sturridge a major doubt? I would normally go Valencia but there's uncertainty over whether he'll RB with such an injured defence and Rafael playing in midfield (??) and the last time Ferguson had a humiliating loss he went defensive. Very defensive.

I was so, so lucky in my cup match. Here's my story.

I finished on 35 points and they finished on 29. Amazingly for me, his first sub (Henderson 6 pts) was a mid and only had 2 starting defenders, so R Taylor who got 0 had to subbed in. Had Henderson been subbed, we would have finished 35-all and I would have lost the tie on goals conceded. Yew yew!

    Nani, Bale Silva, Ramsey, Walters
    Adebayor, RVP, Sturridge

Any idea? 1 free and not a pot to piss in.

5-7 uncertainties there (depending on how you view RVP and Adebayor's chances of being rested)

If you got one free you might as well use it.

Shotton being the one without a regular place in that squad, why not transfer him out for McAuley Caulkner

Lazybayor is dead. Adebayor has been running around like a regular Border Collie. And he has only missed 9 minutes all season.

Just a hunch I share with another hunch-monger on here though. No sources.

Silva looked good vs Sunderland when he came on, plus he is probably the most talented footballer in the PL. Stur, who I also like, is nursing an injury and a lot of his teammates are out. Silva should start if you had to pick, for me, both will start.

The only other plausible drops are Mata and Drenthe, with one having a DGW and the other playing like Sturridge - Wolves... hmmm the Drenthe drop is tempting, what do you think?

Huh, that's tough, this is why I always have a bench mid in my team (Allen at the moment!). I don't think I could bench Drenthe even though he is very unreliable at the moment. Out of that group if I was forced to pick I would probably make Stur first sub due to the injury he might only make a 20 minute cameo. Mata has some set pieces and should play the match, Silva is just good and make something out of nothing plus he is surrounded by natural goal scorers, and Drenthe has two games to do damage (and when he plays, he is Evertons best offensive player).

Thx for making my thoughts rational, I got Bale with VDV and they're obviously undroppable.. should of got BAE instead, oh well fingers crossed!

There is nothing wrong with having a good sub this time of year (or at all), it just makes the choices a bit tougher!

Short sighted, I agree with all the ins (although Ade is the only good long-term choice), but, unless you paid high prices for your outs then you will take huge losses on getting them back in! I would lose over 1.0 mil if I made the same transfers.

Stur and Walcott are no brainer, but not sure with Jones > Baines.

    Howard (Vorm)
    Enrique, Walker, Young. (McAuley, Brown).
    Silva, Bale(c), Walters, Drenthe (Surman)
    Rooney, Ba, RVP.

Do I get rid of Brown for Warnock and bench Enrique?
Do I do Silva to VDV? Ba to Agbonlahor?

    I'm lost here.

I would do Ba to Ade if possible... 1FT? If not then Rooney to Ade. With a wildcard in the near future I wouldn't do any D swaps when you don't have to (just play Enrique). Silva > VDV is also a good move if you don't lose huge on Silva, as I believe he is the most valuable City asset and they will surely return to form at some point. You could do the safe move as well and swap a risky midfielder like Walters(inj) or Drenthe(mia, again), but I am keeping both.

Feeling very light on DGWers. And decent players. Any hits worth taking with this lot?

    Westwood (Ruddy)
    BAE, JEvans, Caulker, (Wilko), (Simpson)
    Nani, Bale(vc), Sinclair, Ramsey, (Reo-Coker)
    RVP, Adebayor(c), Rooney

Nothing wrong with 0 Toffees for DGW. If Rooney plays you should be just fine.

Not all that bad. My exit list in order of form would be

      Ramsey
      Wilko
      Reo-Coker

      And fixtures:

      Reo-Coker
      Ramsey
      Wilko

So probably still Ramsey out first, Osman looks good.
      After that Reo-Coker for Moses/Gomez.

I think we're agreed Ramsey has to go ASAP the question is whether you can maximize points taking a hit now - are there any options giving you 6+ this week? Osman over two games, yes, Moses /Gomez/Dempsey maybe not. If you're WCing soon do Osman for sure, otherwise perhaps you can wait.
