Welcome to a brand new year at Fantasy Football Scout. Hope you all have a happy one.

Now you’ve disposed of your empty cans and pizzas boxes into a black bag, you can settle into your lazyboy and spend the afternoon shouting at your TV screen. We have two games: West Brom entertain Everton and Sunderland welcome Man City to the Stadium of Light.

The teams are in for the opening game, with the main talking point, the omission of Royston Drenthe. It seems there’s not even a place for him on the bench, with Jack Rodwell returning to the Everton lineup.

WBA: Foster; Jones, McAuley, Dawson, Shorey; Thomas, Scharner, Morrison, Brunt; Long, Odemwingie.

Everton: Howard, Hibbert, Distin, Jagielka, Baines, Heitinga, Neville, Rodwell, Osman, Cahill, Saha.

The Dugout Discussion chatroom is now open.

    Who gets your vote for GW20;
    In defence: Jones (new), Raylor (MUN) or Enrique (mci)?
    To captain: Bale or Adebayor

    My current team is;
    Vorm
    Jags Walker Jones
    Nani Bale Silva Osman
    RVP Sturridge Adebayor
    Subs: Ruddy Raylor Enrique BJohnson

      if you can i'd really try and find the extra cash for BAE. for all we know king could be ready next game, or everton and dawson is expected to play against cheltenham in the FA cup and therefore could be in line to play v everton. then you've also got the threat of king and dawson for the nice home game with wolves after the dgw

    i detest bendtner.

    peoples thoughts on donovan then? seriously considering getting him in for walters this week.

    pros:
    proven PL standard
    would likely play up front considering evertons current striking situation
    huge differential
    think he will start both games, probably last about 70 mins each time

    cons:
    possibility he wont start (although i do think this is low)
    everton dont create many chances going forward, slim pickings for him
    might take a while to hit his stride (bolton surely a good first game for him to build confidence though)

    your thoughts?

            I've just shipped out Walters to prepare for the DGW - I'll get him back with the next wildcard and only stand to lose £0.2m at most. I think you're argument is spot on; he's not performed on the road and there's more pressing people to have i.e. Bale. Walters to Bale - get that confirmed button pressed!!

    For my double GW, I have good Tottenham coverage (Friedel, Bale, Ade) and trying to figure out Everton. Currently have Jagielka and Drenthe, and my options are:

    1) Vermaelen -> Baines (no hit, Everton = Jagielka, Baines, Drenthe)
    2) Nani, Jagielka -> Baines, Osman (4 pt hit, Everton = Baines, Drenthe, Osman)
    3) Nani, Jagielka, Drenthe-> Baines, Osman, Donovan (8 pt hit)

    Leaning toward #1, but not sure if Osman over Jagielka is worth the 4 pt hit in #2. Concerned about Drenthe not playing today, and not sure if Donovan can be a differential (ie instead of Osman in #2). Recommendations?

    By the way, my current team (assuming no changes) is
    Friedel
    Jagielka, J Enrique, Shotton
    Nani, Valencia, Bale, Drenthe
    Rooney, Ade, RVP

    (Vorm, Vermaelen, Caulker, Ferguson)
