Welcome to a brand new year at Fantasy Football Scout. Hope you all have a happy one.

Now you’ve disposed of your empty cans and pizzas boxes into a black bag, you can settle into your lazyboy and spend the afternoon shouting at your TV screen. We have two games: West Brom entertain Everton and Sunderland welcome Man City to the Stadium of Light.

The teams are in for the opening game, with the main talking point, the omission of Royston Drenthe. It seems there’s not even a place for him on the bench, with Jack Rodwell returning to the Everton lineup.

WBA: Foster; Jones, McAuley, Dawson, Shorey; Thomas, Scharner, Morrison, Brunt; Long, Odemwingie.

Everton: Howard, Hibbert, Distin, Jagielka, Baines, Heitinga, Neville, Rodwell, Osman, Cahill, Saha.

    0.9 in bank and one free transfer

    I am thinking of bringing in either SAMBA or JAGIELKA for Evans?

    wont even get a price rise out of drenthe, planned my transfers to max out funds, so now have to get rid for a mid 5.9 or lower for gw21 lest i lose value by gw22.

    home to norwich with a nice run thereafter, wasnt really planning on it but could be a good fit until WC. the quick deadline turnaround means i dont have to worry about drenthe price drop.

    getting moses points now, maybe drenthe will wind up paying off after all, in a roundabout way.

    anybody considering liverpool players after DGW....I'm toying with Ba-->Bellamy or doubling up on defense by getting in Agger or Skrtel for Jones. I already have Enrique. Any thoughts?

      I think Donavan was upset because Beckham was only meant to come to Milan for two months and then return for the start of the MLS season. But Beckham was desperate to extend his loan and got his way.

          Nonsense, Beckham was a terrible captain, ridiculous. LA finally got sorted when Donovan became Captain and LA got a great defender. Beckham did just what he was generously paid for, not much less or more.

    Could you guys help me with something? if you play 3-4-3 and on of your def's doesn't play - would your first sub come on if it was a mid, or would you get a def subbed in?

      Read the rules. Your 1st defensive sub will come in. If you have no defensive subs who played you end up with just 10 players for the week.

        yeah that was the logic friday, now its sunday. moses has scored, is in form and has a nice fixture gw20. drenthe is not starting, not even on bench, not nailed on, etc etc. mystery asbsence?
