While some of us have already begun tinkering with the winter wildcards, there are five games taking place today as double gameweek 20 gets underway.

The big news is that Daniel Sturridge is not in the Chelsea squad- those overnight reports of a leg injury appear to have been true, then.

Here’s the line-ups of this afternoon’s four fixtures before Arsenal make their way to the Cottage this evening:

Blackburn: Bunn, Lowe, Samba, Hanley, Henley, Nzonzi, Formica, Dunn, Petrovic, Pedersen, Yakubu
Stoke: Sorensen; Woodgate, Shawcross, Huth, Wilson; Shotton, Whelan, Whitehead, Etherington; Walters, Crouch

Wolves: Hennessey, Stearman, Berra, Johnson, Ward, Hammill, Henry, Frimpong, Forde, Edwards, Doyle.
Chelsea: Cech; Bosingwa, Luiz, Terry, Cole; Meireles, Romeu, Lampard; Ramires, Torres, Mata.

QPR: Kenny, Hill, Derry, Gabbidon, Taarabt, Faurlin, Mackie, Barton, Young, Helguson, Ferdinand
Norwich: Ruddy, Martin, Drury, Johnson, Whitbread, Holt, Jackson, Pilkington, Bennett, Lappin, Ayala.

Aston Villa: Guzan, Cuellar, Dunne, Collins, Warnock; Petrov, Clark, N’Zogbia, Ireland, Agbonlahor, Bent
Swansea: Vorm, Rangel, Caulker, Williams, Taylor; Britton, Dyer, Routledge, Agustien, Orlandi; Graham

Was a group of about 6 'fans' singing it. Everyone, including the rest of the Barnsley fans were equally disgusted by their behavior.

Twitter can be amazing but on things like this it can be just like a playground. I know people who went to the game and were right next to the Barnsley fans, they didnt hear a thing. Although they did chant 'fat sheffield bas****' and 'sheffield reject' at him!

Most Swansea Mids are 4.5-5.0. Only Sinclair is above that at 6.3. Maybe Sigurdsson will be 5.0-5,5. At that price i will be interested.

Aargh! Just got back from a few days at the in-laws without the internet. Return too late to change team and all my forward planning getting in Drenthe etc has gone out the window as he is my 3rd sub. Gutted. Was in the top 500 but will drop like a lead weight now.

You will not drop like a lead weight because Drenthe is in your team.

And Ward will probably come in for Sturridge ... I don't think you've got anything to worry about apart from your captain choice.

Don't have him myself (have Simpson instead) but really hope as a Toon fan Pardew gives Santon the LB slot permamently. Raylor may have a top class free kick but his defending is distinctly average. So I'd get rid, then again Pardew may think differently..

I'm on the verge of doing Sturridge > Yak tonight before the inevitable price drop/rise, but this has taken me back somewhat. I too thought Nigeria hadn't qualified for the ACON. I am reading in to this as more a long term thing. Is there any immediate risk here,

Koscielny is pretty much a must have.

Points in the last two weeks:

      Koscielny - 13+, Vermaelen - 0.

Indeed. It had absolutely nothing to do with an incorrectly awarded yellow card, a subsequent injury and then a jammy goal. 😉

Vermaelen got injured, not really a fair comparison unless:

        Verms: 947 minutes = 61 points

        Kos:1541 minutes = 59 points

Hence, Verms has scored more points in nearly 600 less minutes and will likely be back for the Swansea game.

    Good wildcard team:

    Ruddy, krul
Jose Enrique, de laet, shotton, Richards, bosingwa
Silva, Nani, bale, Moses, Ben arfa
    Berbatov, Adebayor, aguero

You need RVP and berbatov isnt the best pick; maybe Sturridge and RVP instead of Adebayor and berbatov

The next time they want to make a transfer, they have to remove a Chlesea player so they've only got 3.

Then your next transfer will be forced to be a chelsea player, up until then, one will be on the bench

I'm always a sucker for using my WC's as early as possible, but we have it until 4th Feb. Not sure if we're going to see any big actual transfers this window though. Whether to wait or not.....

Looks like with the Top 6 all have reasonable fixtures next GW (and Everton's not too bad) that there's not going to be much mileage in doing it now - most players will have a decent team (on paper) already for GW21. GW22 looks a bit of a killer as we have MCI/tot and ARS/mun - looks like a good time to do it for me, and we should know more about the Suarez situation. I'm holding fire for a couple of weeks.

I'm not wildcarding yet but planning to do it next GW or the one after.

    Thoughts on:
    Sorensen, Stockdale
Enrique, Richards, Senderos, A Ferdinand, Caulker
    Nani, Bale, Dempsey, Walters, Moses
    RVP, Aguero, Helguson.

Thanks man! 🙂 I'm toying with the idea of 5 cheap defenders long term. Could go well if I do my rotations right, but I have to know they're definite starters.

McAuley isn't definite? Not Shotton either?

Do you have other alternatives or suggestions?
