You might have noticed that Fantasy Football Scout has continued to grow this season. Hopefully, this will continue into next term and, with ideas and plans forming week on week, I’ve decided it’s time to look to add at least one new member to our team of contributors.

We’re looking for a writer to join Sir Paulos’ editorial team – someone who can commit their time and enthusiasm to the site, take charge of a section and make it there own. Hopefully someone who can grow with us and help us into another exciting season of development.

Ideally we’re looking for someone who…

  • Has a knowledge and passion, not just for Premier League football but for Fantasy Football. You will have opinions and be able to back them up with enthusiasm.
  • Is willing to volunteer and contribute their passion and their time to become an invaluable member of a growing editorial team.
  • Has good, strong writing skills with the ability to produce tight, entertaining editorial – in line with the house style, but with a twist of personality.
  • Is available to contribute opinions throughout the week and at weekends, helping to shape decisions and editorial direction within the Scout team.
  • Is available to contribute articles on a weekly basis and be prepared to take charge of an established section of the site, making it their own and working in collaboration with the team to grow it further.

If you feel you’d like to put yourself forward for this role, please send a short summary of yourself, along with a sample of your writing to writers@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

If you don’t have any samples of writing available, please supply a Watchlist article – of a player of your choice, written to our template, an example of which can be found here.

This process is typically lengthy and it’s likely that Sir Paulos and I will be looking at applications from now right through until the end of January. Please be patient with us, we will try to get back to applicants as soon as possible and we will keep you up to date with the process via the site as we go.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Tough one. I'm sticking with Walters as he's on pens and more consistent.

Sess is going through a good patch but I can see it drying up. He's not a natural finisher.

Nonsense , Sess all class , usually best player on park. Only reson he was inconsistant was because last manager didnt use him properly , Sunderland flying now , while Stoke are disgrace to footabll

Commented on this further up on someone elses post.

Given the WC availability, is it time for RVP to go? I can't wait for me to get shot down but everything else gets discussed, so play nice!

If anyone watched the Fulham game, would you agree with me when I say he looked sluggish. Fulhams defence aren't spectacular (no offence fulham fans) and RVP struggled after the first 25 mins (in which he did look alright).

If truth be told, I think Gervinho actually made him look bad (which destroys my suggestion that RVP should be dropped).

Nonetheless, freeing up cash is important and maintaining his kind of form for an entire season is highly unlikely. I think it would be very interesting if he got injured (but not pleasant, I'm not hoping he does). It would force 99% of teams to find a differential which could make the game much more interesting.

I have found that this rule of thumb has served me well this season -

Is RvP alive? If yes, then keep.

Everyone has a bad game. But the fact is he has less bad games and more good games than anyone else. Definitely wouldnt be selling.

I think it's ok to suggest and talk about dropping RVP as long as you dont actually do it 😉

Seriously, I know he looks tired but he's due a rest now for the FA cup game. So he should be back rested and firing for the next round of games. And you only need look at the points and his history to see he's been comfortably the most valuable player on the game and deserves a lot of patience.

      Up to you though

Torres is about EXPLODE into the form of his life with the african cup knocking out chelseas Drogba(who will be horribly injured during the tournament!) and with Ageuro and the Yakster also notching the odd goal or 6 i will win my mini league in style

I will be keeping. Agree with the comments and yes the rest will do him a world of good as I think its just been the sheer gametime that affected his performance! Plus its one of those situations where if you don't have him at the moment your going to get hammered in your leagues if he bags 10+ points (before captain kicks in)

cheers for the reasoned replies, apart from TRINIWEB of course.

Shotton & Bos will cause you immediate problems with rotation. J Evans & Senderos might cause you rotation problems down the line as well.

Like the MF and ATT though. will be hard to pick who to bench each week (and I'm a fan of that strategy because someone always ends up injured, rested or rotated most weeks, and I'd rather a good player come on than bloody Surman or Gower etc....)

Havent seen the stats no. But as a Man Utd fan and Nani owner I've been watching pretty closely and Nani has been pretty dire without Roon in the team.

To be honest, and I dont want to talk Nani up too much, I think Roon is one of the only Utd players who is on the same wave-length as Nani and has the technique to aid his play. I would also put Giggs into that catergory

No offence to Everton fans but its only a forum?? would I be right in thinking that theres been no official news? Ok he may have been ill but its like taking a transfer rumour seriously.

Ok it may help all of us with ol'Royston and put your mind at ease but surely lets all wait for team news tomorrow

A few moments of your time. I sacrified BAE and MOSES to bring in sessegnon. Here is the result.

    ---Sorenson----(Ruddy)
    ---S Kelly---Naylor----Enrique--- (caulker, Wilkinson)

Mids ok except Valencia big rotation risk

Dont like defence much too many nomarks

Looking at your attack i think this the problem , your being too greedy , Yak or someone will probably score just as much as Rooney , and even if he dosent then your better defence would more than make up for it

Defence is too light - also wouldn't count on Valencia/Sess to stay in form and you've priced yourself out of upgrades I reckon. All this is only worthwhile if the awesome front line delivers - have doubts over Rooney and Aguero.

Right... do you HAVE to WC now on such a season defining gamble? Why not wait until after GW22 when the big sides play each other and you can work out who is going into the rest of the season in better shape, plus accommodate January injuries and transfers?

I hear you barking, no i don't have to, but i did bring in donavan and have drenthe, both could be dodgy going forward, i have 3 spurs players, they are coming into some tough fixtures, i also think a lot of people are going to start looking at downgrading defence in wc, so the prices should start rising, it will be harder to get this team in 2 weeks, i would love to keep jones and maybe kompany, i might have to lose 1 of the strikers

I see your problem - want to fix your DGW coverage and cover price changes. But first Everton and Spurs have another good match straight after DGW, and see how Donovan/Drenthe do in DGW. You may only need to get Drenthe out or not at all. Also it's FPL players as a whole driving price changes not FFS and they're very kneejerky and don't plan. I wouldn't worry about cheap defenders going up in price now, particularly as they're not doing exceptionally atm.

True, so your saying this team or one close to it may be good but wait at least until after the games tomorrow, that makes sense, what would you think of

                A) keeping sturidge instead of rooney, i bought sturridge cheap so it would allow me to keep kompany and jones in place of santon and evans with 0.3 left over

                B) hernandez in for rooney and keep kompany instead of santon and keep evans 0.0 left over

the midfield is perfect and attack is great but its not worth it seeing how bad the defence
i would keep rvp but downgrade either rooney (out of form,in mid) or aguero (inconsistent, lack of gametime) to someone like sturridge or adebayor in order to get a couple big hitters in defence (bae /enrique/ kompany/ jones/ cahill when he goes chelsea)

this was the original plan, hernandez instead of rooney and not sell jones or kompany or both, then i got the notion that cheap defenders could score almost aswell as the top defenders and the top attackers could explode, it is coming into the business end of the season

might go with simpson over santon just cuz he seems a bit more nailed on. also valencia could be a rotation risk, we will have to wait and see once young comes back. maybe hernandez and nani over valencia and rooney? just a thought...

could work out for you though you don't have any chelsea players (could be a good thing though). not sure if your strategy of big forwards will work as well as big mids. there seem to be more cheaper priced forwards that are doing well now (ade, sturridge, yak, fletcher, crouch perhaps, etc) that a team with say rvp, ade, sturridge (very common i know) or something similar along with a midfield with silva, nani, demspey, and bale with a cheap defense just like yours could do better. just another idea

might want to wait a few weeks to see if sess keeps scoring well. could be a great pick but could also stop producing

think thats a good team though mate, just trying to give you some other ideas to consider. good luck!

I'm down with cheapies too but think maybe Enrique (if bought at 5.0 like I did- or similar) is worth the extra cash to have a solid pick every week.

The 5 cheapies I was thinking was:

      Simp-J Evans-Enrique-Shotton-Gallas

Obviously Gallas is a risk though once Dawson is back in the picture. But I suspect Gallas will be his regular partner though

Is it worth using WC for a 4pt hit?

Only during it's last week, if you can find nothing else to do imo.
