The first double-gameweek of the season rolls on with two fixtures tonight, as Newcastle United host Manchester United, and Everton face Bolton Wanderers. The Dugout Discussion chatroom is open to capture you views on the events as they unfold.

Again the drama starts tonight with the (sometimes untrustworthy) incoming team news, but here are the official line-ups…

Newcastle XI: Krul, Simpson, Coloccini, Williamson, Santon, Ryan Taylor, Tiote, Cabaye, Gutierrez, Shola Ameobi, Ba

Man United XI: Lindegaard, Valencia, Ferdinand, Jones, Evra, Park, Carrick, Giggs, Nani, Berbatov, Rooney

Two changes for the home, as Gabriel Obertan misses the opportunity to face his former club. Also out is Haris Vuckic, with Davide Santon and Shola Ameobi starting for the Magpies.

As for the visitors, Sir Alex drafts in Anders Lindegaard, Rio Ferdinand, Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney for the trip to St. James Park.

Everton XI: Howard, Hibbert, Jagielka, Distin, Baines, Donovan, Neville, Heitinga, Osman, Stracqualursi, Saha

Bolton XI: Bogdan, Steinsson, Cahill, Knight, Ricketts, Mark Davies, Muamba, Reo-Coker, Petrov, Eagles, Ngog

Whilst the game in the North-East will hold the attention of most, fantasy managers will have one eye on the game at Goodison Park, where Everton play their first fixture of two this gameweek.

David Moyes boldly goes with two strikers up front and starts Landon Donovan for the first time in his two-month loan period.

The Bolton team news is that Gary Cahill starts, despite his expected imminent move to the capital.

Follow the action in our Dugout Discussion chatroom, which can be accessed right here.

    CSs
Dire once again, but Swans and Newc came up trumps yet again with difficult fixtures respectively. Other than that there's not much to be had cheaply at the back. Further up the price bracket, City appear the best option with form and fixtures to boot. Pool and United should also be decent sources despite this week's events.

Other than that (perhaps Fulham with their fixtures) I don't see many cleanies on the horizon. Some may say Sunderland/Stoke but they're not quite reliable enough.

    Just checked my mini league.

The amount of CRAP managers with rubbish teams full of injuries completely poxing it getting decent points off the bench is unreal.

And dont give me any of this "its important to have a strong bench" nonsense. They are lucky. And thats it. My time is coming....

What are people doing with Mata?

I don't think he's worth the money, might ship him for Dempsey me thinks which will leave me with no chelsea cover however. I guess I can bring in Sturridge instead if he's back for the next game?

I'm a chelsea fan and i can't see the value in any chelsea player at the moment(Not even sturridge. I just sold him for the yak on my wildcard) Mata is overpriced for what he delivers imo. Gary cahill could be an option at 5.2 but other than that i'd stay away

This Christmas season has to have been the worst ever for reliability with the big teams.

3 weeks ago, it was all about investing in United & for the festive period givien their fixtures

NANI, Roon, Jones & Sturridge all saw massive investment, and have returned paltry returns. Unbelievable.

The sooner the FPL returns to normal service the better!

+1. Defoe might not be a bad punt. Lennon is on way back so might push VDV back into the middle and Defoe onto bench. He's on form though. If you do plump for him, make sure you've got a bench that can cope with it if he doesn't play.

I'm not usually one to bring this sort of thing up but I'm feeling fairly smug towards the chap who took a look at my team and said "why would you play Krul over Vorm!?" I know I was incredibly lucky to get an assist! Also fortunate enough to have Naylor and Dyer coming in for Brown and Sturridge. Sorry to brag but just thought I'd share my good fortunes with y'all.

I would rather have Jones but can't afford him, so I'm sticking with BAE. BAE probably has better fixtures coming up I would say.

Did that really happen today? Krul, Taylor and Simpson on my bench outscored Nani, Jones, and Baines in my lineup 21-1? Please David Moyes, here's hoping that you continue to hide the Drenthe corpse and its 8 pts per 90 minutes so I can get Taylor in off the bench.
