The first Scoutcast of 2012 is here. There’s no dressing this up, the Episode title tells you exactly what to expect. With consecutive gameweek scores hovering around the two millionth rank mark and “ghost ship” squads passing me by, who can really blame me?

A string of unfortunate transfers and an errant injury to an Arsenal centre-back threatens to bring my season falling around my ears. Mark spends much of the podcast attempting to reassure me – convinced I’m at the point of no return, whilst simultaneously adding a few sly digs on the 71 points that’s opened up between us. I wouldn’t have expected anything less.

The season and the show must go on. In between gripes, we eventually throw in the usual array of regulars and, by the end, there’s even a sense of hope. Happy New Year? It couldn’t get any worse.

Feel my pain here.

Alternatively, stream away on the handy player below…

    Scoutcast notes:

    - Sess being a better option than McLean. I think Mark is turning my fickle mind back towards Sess.
    - The thought of Mark saying: "Hold on dear- damn! .5 over budget..." whilst his wife is in labour had me in stitches.

hehe, well you usually get what you pay for but I do think McClean is likely to be 6.5m player next season so it's just whether he keeps his place I think.

Tough one. Disagreeing with Mark slightly, I think there is scope to have both McLean and Sess.

        *strokes chin*

Then there's Larsson to factor in...

I'm contemplating 2 from Vorm, Krul & Mignolet.

    Any opinions?

firstly, its too late for Vorm - he is too expensive now.

I would go Mignolet and Krul but would prefer Mignolet and Sorensen. Keepers are number fillers, dont waste your time, effort and cash on them

forgot to mention I already have Vorm. He has served me well so far, but has tough fixtures. Ruddy is my other GK but moving him out for sure want to keep him. Mignolet worries me as I'm not sure is he 100% going to start, but if he does he is good value.

lads, when your finished wathcing the womens voleyball, can someone answer me this.

I have one free transfer. I want to do Ba>Yak & Drenthe > Dempsey tonight before the price changes.
If I do it, and take the 4 point hit, but decide tomorrow evening to play the WC and make a few other changes, does that reverse the 4 point hit?

will I have no point hits when they update the gameweek?

yes it reverses the 4 point hit that you would have done.

Good signing. They're being linked with proper players now, not like the garbage Warnock went and got on deadline day last window.

I agree although L Youngs done well, and I reckon SWP if played as an out and out winger would be a handful.

Interesting fact: If you add Stockdales Points to Schwarzers he is = 3 (83 points) with hart. Neglecting the fact that schwarzer is a better keeper.

misleading. If you use that rationale then Lindegaard + Degea = 100 points = first.

im leaning that way too driz, im using all my transfers over the next few gameweeks and not worrying too much about the long term as i will sort it all out longterm with teh WV at last possible opportunity.

nani and gerrard definitely best for this week

If your playing catch up maybe - sturridge is the safer bet imo. Who would you have to drop to play both?
