League leaders Manchester City travel to the DW Stadium tonight, looking to put breathing space between themselves and their city rivals. The Dugout Discussion chatroom opens in anticipation of the conclusion of Gameweek 21.

Both team sheets have been handed in, and here is how they line-up on this horribly cold Monday night…

Wigan XI: Al Habsi, Stam, Alcaraz, Caldwell, Figueroa, McArthur, McCarthy, Gomez, Crusat, Rodallega, Moses.

Man City XI: Hart, Zabaleta, Savic, Lescott, Clichy, Milner, Barry, Nasri, Silva, Aguero, Dzeko.

Roberto Martinez continues with Albert Crusat, who manages to shake off a slight back injury to start tonight. James McArthur begins for only the third time in the league this season, replacing Mohamed Diame who is unavailable thanks to the African Cup of Nations.

Manchester City are forced to partner Jolean Lescott and Stefan Savic at centre-back once more, despite a very ropey performance in their defeat to United last weekend. Elsewhere, David Silva is restored to the starting line-up, Sergio Aguero partners Edin Dzeko up front, and Pablo Zabaleta replaces Micah Richards.

Follow all the action in our Dugout Discussion chatroom, which can be accessed right here.

Backline: Enrique Caulker Shotton (Simpson McAuley) - bench order good?

Any news on how Shotton's injury is coming along?

wildcard team .. any advice / comments?

    Krul / Vorm

    Evans / Senderos / Huth / Kompany / Enrique

    Walters / Sessegnon / Moses / Dempsey / ?

Van persie / Aguero / Fletcher

For the final midfield spot I have 12.1 million left.
options i am thinking of are:
    1) Gerrard for 2 weeks, then switch to silva
    2) Lampard for 2 weeks, then switch to silva
    3) upgrade fletcher to sturridge, and then either option 1 or 2

Get Rooney in there for gw 22/23, then swap to Kun for gw 24. I don't think Fletcher will do well vs Villa(Derby game) and Lpool. Get a striker that you can bench this week and play next week when you need to bench Walters(ManU).

      You need Bale my friend.

Ahh Damn you Drenthe.. he was around 80% to drop 3 hours before deadline... So I sleep and wake up next day and surprise he still dropped.. cost me a precious 0.1...

Because of that I cant do..

Ade> Aguero and Drenthe > Mcclean..

Now i think ill move ahead with ful and sunderland since they have 2 home games...
    so the question is..

    Drenthe> Dempsey and Ade>Bendtner

    OR

    Drenthe>Sess and Ade>Zamora??

Help guys.. any other striking options.. ??

were you planning on using McClean to start any time soon, and have you WC'ed already. If the answer is no to both, Id just do your original idea and replace McClean with Surman. then WC surman out. he's not ideal with Norwich rotation, but he seems to be favoured ATM.

        So u mean Drenthe>Surman and Ade>Aguero ?? Will be for a 4 pt hit..

I will be wildcarding for GW24.. and yes I was planning to start both mcclean and aguero for gw 22 If i had gotten them..

Also dont you think Surman vs chelsea would be a waste.. ??

BTW i can also do these 3 for an 8 pt hit..

        Nani>Valencia
        Drenthe>SIlva
        Ade>7.4 mil striker.. Bendy ??

Not bookmarked RD, but I copied it into word:

I’ve used iamsuarez’s brilliant defence rotation checker (link at bottom) to find the best defensive rotation if you have 1 expensive defender and 4 rotating cheapies. To ensure CS actually happens, I’ve considered cheap sides with defences good enough to deliver a CS at home (NEW, SWA, SUN, FUL, STO) which leaves out the unreliable likes of WBA, WOL, QPR, WIG and so on. The best rotations were NEW-SUN (0 games away from home), NEW-SWA (1 game away from home), FUL-SWA and FUL-STO (both 2 games away from home). Since we need 4 defenders I then had to test which 2 pairs rotated best with each other. The final answer was that the best 2 pairs together are:
      NEW-SUN
      FUL-SWA
Your bargain options here include, in order of nailed-on-ness:
      NEW: Williamson (4.2) = Simpson (4.4), Santon (4.2)
      SUN: Brown (4.5) = Bardsley (4.8), Kilgallon (4.0)
      FUL: Senderos (4.3), Kelly (3.9)
      SWA: Caulker (4.0) = Naylor (4.4) = Rangel (4.4)
Here’s the breakdown of the fixtures for all 4 teams, divided into two periods: GW21-30 and GW30-38. Recommended fixtures are bracketed []. In the whole 18 GWs, there are only 2 GWs with less than 2 home games, and you will never have to play a team in the current top 5. The toughest team you’ll have to face is Liverpool, but you’ll be at home each time. You can play Blackburn 4 times, QPR 4 times, Wolves 4 times, Bolton 3 times and Villa 3 times.
      GW21-30
NEW: [QPR] ful……[bla]..[AVL]…tot…[WOL] [SUN] ars…[NOR] [wba]
FUL..: [bla] [NEW] [WBA] mci…[STO] [qpr]..[WOL] [avl] [SWA] mun
      SWA.: ARS..sun……CHE..[wba] [NOR] sto….[wig]…MCI…ful…..[EVE]
      SUN.: che..[SWA]..[NOR] sto…..ARS..[wba]..new…[LIV] [bla]….[QPR]
      GW31-38
      NEW: [LIV]…..swa…[BOL] che….[STO]..ARS…MCI [eve]
      FUL..: [NOR] [bol]….CHE…liv……[WIG] eve…[SUN] tot
SWA..: tot…..[NEW] [qpr] [BLA]..[bol]..[WOL] mun [LIV]
      SUN..: mci…..TOT….eve…[WOL] [avl]..[wig]…[ful] MUN
PS: Don’t forget if you get Evans you can have a cheapie who starts every match lowering the requirement to 1 defender from 3 of these teams – easy. You probably want to take out Swansea in that case.
PPS: Also, this rotation obviously applies to midfielders and strikers – particularly interesting in the case of NEW/SUN.

    Morning all....

I've been tinkering keepers for my wc team and if there's someone who has done the same, please give your opinnion on this.

Yesterday I was set go for Lindegaard & Sorensen combo, but because there is worry about their starting places (or is there?), today I started to think that maybe it's wise to keep Vorm in my team, just in case.
I came to idea that Vorm & Sorensen now and change Sorensen to Lindegaard or Schwarzer in gw28.
My selling value on Vorm is 4.6 and Lindegaard is 4.4, so it would be only 0,2 difference in price.

BUT, then looked those fixtures again and noticed that Vorm & Linde don't rotate at all - so I'm pretty back to square one, Linde & Sorensen. Lindegaard would play gw23 and then gw28 onwards pretty much all games.

What do you think - is Lindegaard & Sorensen too risky?
I could take Kelly instead of Senderos to my defence, so that leaves me little money in the bank if I find both my keepers benched.

Sorry for long 'jada jada jada' post, but if you have some tought on this, share it to me 🙂

This is not the time of the season to fiddle with keepers. Stick Krul and Vorm in there and forget about them.

I am on WC and that is the time to think best combo for keepers.
Leaning towards to that Linde / Sorensen, bacause then I could leave it there for rest of the season.
I've had Vorm / Hilario for last weeks and now getting another one to play. Krul is bit expencive now and I'm going for R.Taylor + Simpson so can't get him in.

Yeah, would have been +3 (excluding possible Silver boner) and higher had I kept Silver instead on Nani.

          Sold Formica...bought Yak....

Not even going to the Rooney peno miss....3pt boner lost there me thinks.

I took a view that Rooney/Nani will outscore Kun/Silva gw 21-23. So i have to stand by me decision.

          Not complaining though.

Hart made a great save with his boot that I recall, but nothing much else stands out. Aguero missed a couple of clear chances. Maybe because Silva was my only player involved I took more notice of him, but everything seemed to go through him, as always...

                    b) this form will continue

i may be wrong but their defence seems the best way to take advantage of their nice fixtures in the short-term

Reading forums and match reviews is hardly a good way of picking up what went on in the match.
City weren't playing tight by any means, and if it weren't for Dzeko being an idiot, Aguero having 1 or 2 out of character finishes and a bit more luck it could have been another 3-4 goal domination.

You do promote your trebling theory a lot on here Tosey. Back when you had 3 x Liverpool, I had Enrique + 4 rotating cheap and was beating your weekly scores easily with better mids + forwards, but I couldn't be bothered to argue about it. Trying to put people off Silva is just ridiculous, he's still 4th highest scorer in the game and is likely to get another couple of BPs from last night. You MC trebling will work about as well as your Liv trebling, crippling the rest of your team.

Can anyone explain Demba Ba's price changes to me? Between GW15-GW19 he gained about 250K managers and his price went from 7.0 to 7.6. In GW21 he lost over 350K, back to roughly the number who had him in GW12 when his price was 6.7, but his price has only dropped to 7.4

Aha, thank you. I didn't realise that would happen. So does that happen whenever they're red? (suspended, injured, ineligible, international duty ... any others?)

Dawson or Cahill?? Would be a straight swap using my FT. Spurs next 6 games are prettttyyyy tough so I'm leaning towards Cahill.

Neither tbh - as you say spurs fixtures are horrid and will Cahill dispose of terry /luiz full time?

I suppose Cahill is a rotation risk, but I think he's there for the long haul. I might just keep Dawson but bench him for the tough fixtures.

If he's back in midfield, then he would be in his normal position? It's only POO if he's playing in defence.

Spurs I expected, although I'm still surprised they did not win in the end. How fulham only scored 1 goal vs a 10man BB i don't know.

Can someone explain why everyone is piling into BAE??

Their next 6 fixtures are MCI, WIG, LIV, NEW, ARS, MUN. Could hardly be much worse...

I'm planning to take my profit here having bought at 5.0....

I got him in, but out of them I'll only need to be playing him against Wigan and Newcastle at home, so I'm not fussed.

He scored a shed-load of points in the DGW. That's pretty much why, I'd guess. He's out when I WC for sure.

+1 the DGW points was a bonus + a welcome unexpected price rise of 0.4 before i WC him out..

Is something wrong with Drenthe? I would keep now; he actually started last week and they have Blackburn at home. Just do Ade to Zamora?
