Eight victories and a qualifying round later and here we are, the Semi-Finals of the Paddy Power Cup V. A win at this penultimate stage guarantees a prize and, of course, a place in the Gameweek 23 Grand Final. Without further ado, the Semi-Final draw…

sleepingmaster Vs. ChickenDevil

The underdog here is 73,327th in the world sleepingmaster, who is the lowest ranked of all four Semi-Finalists. Over 65,000 places better off than him is his opponent, ChickenDevil. The difference in rank is reflected in both teams squad value. Whilst the top 10,000 ChickenDevil has coffers of over £110m to call upon, sleepingmaster is a good three million worse off. And with funds tied up with Wayne Rooney away at the Emirates, sleepingmaster needs some serious performances from the likes of Stephane Sessegnon.

Raasclart Vs. Funkyav

The second tie pits last week’s top-scorer, Raasclart, against the highest-ranked Fantasy manager, Funkyav. With Funkyav’s Wayne Rooney facing a trip to the Emirates and Raasclart’s Emmanuel Adebayor ruled out of the Gameweek, this one could come down to how those mid-priced options fair. Raasclart’s move in the transfer market for his an Adebayor replacement may also pave the way into the final.

Here’s a reminder of exactly what’s at stake…

  • Winner – £150 worth of free bets courtesy of sponsors Paddy Power. £50 Amazon Voucher
  • Runner-up – £75 worth of free bets courtesy of sponsors Paddy Power. £30 Amazon Voucher
  • 3rd Place – £50 worth of free bets courtesy of sponsors Paddy Power. £20 Amazon Voucher

Good luck for each of our Semi-Finalists going into Gameweek 22. Next week I’ll bring you the results, a subsequent preview of the Grand Final, and news of the next Fantasy Football Scout competition.

No way Enrique, away from home too risky, even against a very poor Bolton team.
I'd say Walters could be a good differential.

Although I don't know if they've kept more clean sheets away.

    Hi Guys,
I would really appreciate some help for my WC team. 0.1 in the bank for A and B.

    A)
    (Vorm/Mignolet)
    Ferdinand(MUN) Richards (Enrique/Simpson/Kelly(FUL) )
    Bale Silva Sessegnon (Walters/McLean)
    Van Persie Sturidge Aguero

    or B)
    (Vorm/Sorensen)
    Enrique (Simpson/Kelly) (Shotton/Brown)
    Bale Silva Dempsey (Walters/Sessegnon)
    Van Persie Sturidge Aguero

    A few WC dilemmas:

Rooney or Aguero (with Silva being in the squad already)
Silva - Bale - Sess - Dempsey - Walters - do I really need three mids from mid-table sides?
Should I drop super-sub Nathan Dyer?

Rooney or Aguero - Aguero for me
I've got the same midfield as you, they all have goal scoring potential so I think its a strong line-up. I plan to rotate based on fixtures, for example this week I'm dropping Bale to the bench as other 4 are playing at home.

Do i transfer him out for Senderos for free(got just 0.7 in the bank) or do i save the transfer for next week's pre-wildcard lineup witnessed punts? (eg Mata and Fletcher to Sessegnon and Dzeko/Barbatov/Balo)

I think he made the transfers early before Ade dropped and Fletcher rose in price
    I did the computations;

    106 - 9.2 (Selling price of Ade) = 96.8

    96.8+ 5.9 (Fletcher buying price) = 102.7(Current team value)

Why would you want to get a striker who has scored 2 goals in 854 minutes of play and ditch one of three proven performers?

To put that in perspective Torres has scored one more goal than Paul Scholes, who has only played 68 minutes of premier league games.

Why not keep all three...surely there are better trades to be made.

Zamora is for the risk taking player. As a Brighton fan I have seen first hand how awesome his ball control skills are.
For the fixtures, his ability to hold up play he's worth a punt....but it is a punt. There are no guarantees.

He also made 48 key passes in the opposition half over the last two games....that puts him firmly in assist machine territory.

In addition, Fulham have failed to score just twice at home this season and one of those was against Man Utd. ...blimey...I'm starting to convince myself.

Very similar to my latest efforts...I like your keepers. Defence is solid although I'm not gone on BAE's prospects over next few weeks.
I have the same midfield and RVP and Aguero and am trying to make up my mind whether to stick with Sturridge or switch to Fletcher...

Huth for me given goal threat although you already have Sorenson so might end up doubling up some weeks...risky but might payoff. Enrique less of a differential but a solid choice all the same, especially when Pool are at home.

BAE or Senderos? For the next fortnight and the future.
I'm tempted to hold onto BAE til after Wigan by which time he'll have risen again so I can sell him for 0.1 more. After that I'd switch to Senderos or Kelly anyway.

Def for this week: Enrique, Simpson, Caulker (Richards, BAE)

Would play Senderos over Caulker if I during him in.

    A)

    GW 23 Senderos + Fletcher

    B)
GW 22 Shotton (Caulker/BAE if he does'nt start)

Hey Guys - played my WC so now trying to work this out

I need to find 0.1 from somewhere!

Here is my team with 0.1 over at the moment:

    Lindergaard Vorm

Richards Enrique Cahill Raylor (bought him for 4.5 at start) Caulker

Silva (bought for 9.5) Bale (bought for 8.1) Valencia Sessegnon (bought for 6.1) Surman

    RVP Aguero Sturridge

any ideas on how to find the 0.1 ? This is ideally the team I want, could swap Surman for Reo-Coker - but would rather not obviously.

    Any thoughts?

Not entirely certain whether it's Herd or Delph that threatens Clark's OOP position in midfield but as Delph has gone on 28 day emergency loan to Leeds, I'd say that secures Clark as a good choice for current WC's. Well, more so anyway!
