Alan Pardew has confirmed that Senegalese pair Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse will miss out on Newcastle’s trip to Blackburn tomorrow evening. The Magpies boss expects the duo to arrive back at the club on Thursday now, with both likely to line up against Villa on Sunday instead.

Anders Lindegaard is a doubt for Manchester United; under fire David De Gea could be set to continue between the sticks. Paul Lambert could welcome back a couple of long-term injury absentees, while Sunderland’s on-loan signing Wayne Bridge is available for the Canaries showdown.

John Terry, Frank Lampard, Mikel and Ramires are all absent for Chelsea. Marc Albrighton and James Collins have been ruled out for Villa, though Charles N’Zogbia returns from a heel problem. Elsewhere, a host of clubs could welcome new players into the fold as the transfer window draws closer.

    Had a very disappointing couple of Game Weeks prior to the FA cup week, So im really tempted to use the January Wilcard since ive already used my normal one!

        Luiz isn't doing that great, I have serious doubts about Cahill (a lot of talk and not much substance so far) Cole will be his usual strong self and Ivanovic may have a good game or have an off game since he's like that. Doesn't seem exceedingly strong to me.

    I'm drafting up a few provisional Wildcard teams which I'll activate tonight and my front 3 is causing a real headache. RVP is obviously nailed on but who to go for as a second striker? I honestly don't feel confident enough to put my faith in Aguero or Rooney. Is anybody considering Dzeko or Bent or even Suarez? I'm assuming that most will already have RVP plus a cheap 3rd striker such as Zamora or Sturridge...

            I'm tempted to do just like you're doing. Most people run with RVP + Aguero/Rooney + a cheapie, but I'd prefer to have Ba and Bent instead.

            I got Studge at the perfect time so I'm more forgiving with him but unless he scores a double digit GW this week, I'll prob be taking him out.

        Ok good cool. Not that he is injured I mean fantasy wise.
        I have decided to stick with the "risky" high priced back five of Kompany, Vermaelen, Enrique, Srktel and BAE.
        It's either going to score big or not at all, for this reason I am pleased Stockdale is starting. Otherwise it would be Vorm v Chelsea.
