It has emerged that Frank Lampard could be fit to face Manchester United on Monday following a calf injury; the midfielder faces a late fitness battle this weekend. John Terry is out though, joining the suspended Ashley Cole on the sidelines. Their counterparts could welcome back Wayne Rooney, Nani, Ashley Young and Tom Cleverley.

Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse trained for Newcastle today, signalling their availability for the game with Aston Villa. Fraizer Campbell could be rested by Martin O’Neill for Sunderland’s trip to Stoke. Steven Gerrard and Jamie O’Hara are back in the squads for Liverpool and Wolves, respectively.

As always, our Team News section continues to be updated as the weekend games draw closer. Keep an eye on our Twitter feed brings all the latest reports direct from the official sites and top sources.

Posted about Saha a few pages back. Someone asked why I thought he was set to start, it was because of this.

Louis Saha, a surprise deadline day capture from Everton, may be thrown straight into Spurs' starting XI for Monday's Premier League game at Liverpool after it emerged the rest of the club's strike force has been ravaged by injury.

Top scorer Jermain Defoe is rated as "extremely doubtful" for the clash at Anfield and Rafael van der Vaart (calf) and Emmanuel Adebayor (hamstring) are also doubts after hobbling off during Tuesday's 3-1 win over Wigan.

Was only thinking of having a punt as I, for my sins, have Torres at the moment and was looking for a differential. Just remember spurs took Liverpool apart at the lane too.

They took 9 man Pool apart (though in all fairness we played much better than them to start with as well).
Saha could pay off but I wouldn't touch him with a long stick.

No EPL games will be cancelled because of a frozen pitch due to under-soil heating.

    On my WC this week:

    Current squad (0.1 in bank)

    Vorm (Sorenson)
    Kompany, Shawcross, Enrique, Simpson (Evans)
    Bale, Silva, Dempsey, Sessegnon, (McClean)
    RVP, Ba (Bent)

(my transfers so far have been: Walters, Moses, and Sturridge to Sess, McClean, Ba)

Additional thoughts? Was thinking of withdrawing enrique but don't see anyone else worth it at the price level (5.6)

You're benching Bent this week and presumably next week (Man C) too so you might as well get rid on the wildcard. Playing 4-4-2 in a WC week makes no sense to me. Would probably ditch Shawcross too since you have Sorensen.

Looking at it now, if I keep Enrique I would likely bench him this week in favour of Bent.

I like Bent at the moment, he's in form.

For the most part I play Vorm and Shawcross

    a/ Baines, Dempsey, Zamora, Vorm
b/ Kelly, Valencia, Aguero, Sorensen ??

Basically b is the restructuring required to fit in Aguero.

    Team now..

    Sorensen
    Simpson - Huth - Evans
    Valencia - Silva - Bale - Sess. - Dempsey
    RvP - Aguero

Sub: Vorm ; Sturridge, Enrique, Senderos

    1) Is it too risky to play Sorensen and bench Vorm? I also have Huth starting..

    2) Studge out for.. a) Ba , b) Zamora , c) D.Cisse

    3) If I get striker in 2), who to bench - Sess. or Dempsey?

    Who do I bench??

    Thinking of playing

    Vorm
    Evans, Kompany, Simpson
    Bale, Silva, Dempsey, McClean, Valencia
    Augero(v) RVP(c)

Bench = Sturridge, Senderos, Taylor, Bunn

Doesn't feel right having Sturridge on the bench but can't see Chelsea doing much against United they have been very poor going forward lately

Do these two FTs seem sensible?

    Morison->Ba
    Enrique->Caulker

(biggest question is the 4.6m or less defender to replace Enrique)

    to leave...

    Vorm (Sorenson)
    Richards Simpson Evans
    Bale Silva Dempsey Sessegnon
    RvP(c) Aguero(v) Ba

    (Dyer Caulker Sendoros)

0.3 short of the team i want. Any suggestions?

    Krul, Mignolet
    Kompany, Evans, Caulker, Simpson, Taiwo
    Silva, Bale, Sessegnon, Dempsey, Moses
    Aguero, Zamora, RvP

Is what i’ve got. I’d like some Stoke defensive cover but it means downgrading midfield.

    Krul (Mignolet)
    BAE - Caulker - Simpson (J Evans - Shotten)
Sess - Silva - Bale - Dempsey (Moses)
    Aguero(vc) - RVP(c) - Fletcher

Does this look correct? Order of subs?
Deciding to bring in McClean for Moses and leaving Dempsey to the bench. This would also allow me to bring in Ba for Fletcher next week.

Lindegaard is a rotation risk. Vorm has some tricky fixtures coming up. City aren't as solid at the back as everyone seems to think. Midfield is the best you can get atm. Nice attack too. How did you afford that midfield and that attack?!?!
