Gameweek 24 continues with two games on show today, and the Dugout Discussion is here to cover them both. We start at The Sports Direct Arena, where Newcastle United welcome back their star striker, Demba Ba, to face Aston Villa. After that, it’s down to Stamford Bridge where the champions, Manchester United, will be looking to close the gap on their City rivals by beating Chelsea. The team sheets for our first game are in, and are as follows…

Newcastle XI: Krul, Simpson, Williamson, Coloccini, Santon, Ryan Taylor, Guthrie, Perch, Gutierrez, Ba, Best.

Villa XI: Given, Hutton, Cuellar, Dunne, Warnock, Ireland, Petrov, Clark, N’Zogbia, Keane, Bent.

As already alluded to, the headline news is that Demba Ba is back for the Magpies and starts. His fellow countryman and new signing, Papiss Demba Cisse, features from the bench.

There’s no surprises in the line-up for the away team, with loan-signing Robbie Keane partnering in-form Darren Bent upfront. Gabriel Agbonlahor misses out through injury, so Charles N’Zogbia continues on the left.

Follow all the action in our Dugout Discussion chatroom, which will remain open until the final whistle goes at Stamford Bridge, and can be accessed right here.

So cahill is only playing because A.Cole is out, so ivanovic has to fill in? So Luiz and Ivanovic ahead of cahill in CB pecking order?

I'm glad that Papiss Demba Cissé has silenced the sceptics so quickly - he was a scoring machine for an otherwise goal-shy club in the Bundesliga and it was only ever going to be a question of time until he settled into the Premier League.

As a Demba Ba owner though, I'm concerned that the duo are going to fall into the same pattern as they do for Senegal, with Papiss Demba Cissé as the main striker in the pair (and primary goalpoacher). Both can take penalties too, although Papiss Demba Cissé was taken off them by his team SC Freiburg after misses like this:

Ha, that's the dilemma, isn't it? Next season, I'd choose Papiss Demba Cissé in a heartbeat. It's just a question of how quickly he settles in this season.

He was lucky at SC Freiburg in that they built the team around him, and the mangerial staff allowed him not to work so hard in defence. Not sure whether Pardew will afford him the same treatment. Also Freiburg were an unfashionable club in a quiet town where it was perfectly possible for Papiss Demba Cissé to avoid the media limelight. There's going to be much more press attention for him to deal with at Newcastle.
