The Gameweek closes with a 0-0 stalemate at Anfield, a game notable in the main for a feline streaker – a rival to Everton’s recent handcuffed fan, but a far cry from the 70’s brand of pitch invader. Members can now read on for the key stats from tonight’s game and our prediction of where the remaining Fantasy Premier League bonus will be heading…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Acqua, do you still remember my story yesterday?
      now i'm thinking
      Shotton --> Clichy
      Lind --> Mig

after weekend, i changed my mind. I decide to keep BAE and Enrique. and Clichy rested this week, so he will play next week. about Mig and Krul, you know last page

      team linked again

The thing is, clichy may be a good shout for this weekend, but not long-term. Always in contention with Kolarov and even Zabaleta.

I would just go Lind>Mignolet this week and save the other transfer, unless there's a better defender option in that price range who always gets 90mins

i have 5.9M, should be Clichy or Bosingwa/Cahill/Swansea Def/ Fulham def

Definitely. AVL are weak in defending crosses, FKs, corners. With RVP out of contention for the (C) choice, if there ever was a safe choice, it has to be Silva, who's due a good haul. I was looking towards Bale initially but yesterday he looked a tad tired. Bale (for his home record) or Silva for me.

this is currently my team for GW 25
    Vorm (Sorenson)
    Simpson Vermalaen BAE (Senderos C.Clark)
    Silva Walters Bale Valencia (Mcclean)
    Ba Aguero(vc) RVP(c)

I'm debating putting in senderos instead of walters and I would even consider getting rid of Walters for someone else around his price range (I can sell for 6.3 and have 0 in the bank.)
Any opinons/advice? I only have 1 FT as well. I was also playing with the idea of trading sorenson out for mignolet.

I am a Kelly owner and take issue with the fact that they can't keep a clean sheet for toffee regardless of how weak the opposition is. But at that price range you dont get much better unfortunately.

If you had 0.1 more then you could have had Caulker & Turner (short term will play)

I don't see anyone shouting out for captaincy this week...

I honestly can't see Newcastle conceding too many, I'm weary of a solid defensive away performance from Stoke, and RVP will be lucky to score at SOL...

What are peoples thoughts on my current left field captaincy of Siggy?

If ever there was ever a week for a left field choice then this is it. Siggy home against Norwich could be inspired.

I'll probably go for Dempsey. Or Bale, simply for the fact that it will help ease the pain if he does well against us!!

Yeah Bale/Dempsey have the ability to explode, but if Siggy was to get a goal & assist again - which is highly possible - then I can't see me losing out on too many points...

I'm going Dempsey. Can't see Jol sticking the new signing in straight away (will prob come off the bench at some point) so I'd fancy Demp to do something playing as an out and out striker against Stoke, who are notoriously poor away from home. I am still a little wary though. You just never know which Stoke will turn up

Captain RVP really saved my GW. I need several of big GW to catch up with my mini league leader. What should I do this GW team is:
    Vorm (Mignolet)
    Dawson, Evans, Kelly, (Enrique, Williamson)
    Sess, Valencia, Bale, Silva, (Moses)
    RVP, Aguero, Ba

    1) Who should I captain? Thinking about RVP again but can he scored big 2 weeks in a row with Sun on form?
    2) I'm choosing between Evans and Enrique who should I start or go with Williamson and bench both?
    3) Still have 1 free transfer do I need to use it or save it for next week?

Repost: New on here, so please go easy…….

Was just wondering if it has ever been suggested to/considered by FPL that we could get one free bench change at the end of each GW? Say 24hrs to make the swap, whilst they work out the BPs perhaps? Possibly a bit fairer for those that stay the course for the full season, over the part timers who give up in GW2. Would be especially reasonable in the cup (or H2H) where it seems crazy you can get knocked out/beaten, by 2 pts, by someone who’s not logged on/changed their team in 6months!! Seems a bit pointless that.

Also create a bit more tactical team management and more realistic – EPL teams bring on their subs, after all. Not to mention the frustration we all have with 20pts sat on the timber each week. I now have over 200pts on the bench for the year!!

Thoughts, pros/cons appreciated……cheers and keep up the good work on here…..and the FFS team

Agreed Fuzzy and it is a game 50% skill, 50% luck (or is in my case anyway). But sometimes the benched players are used (making it best XV), although in a relatively arbitrary fashion (appreciate we can decide on sequence).

Just think that the opportunity to bring on one sub post match (as you might in a game) would add a little something.

It would be nice of course but this in itself would create a whole new catalogue of hard luck stories and discontent.

At the end of the dy we all have to deal with dead teams in the cups, we all have points sat on our bench some weeks whom we'd love to call upon.

So I say leave as is and we just have to make sure we make the right calls with who to bench and the order of our subs. If there are points on the bench then we have nobody to blame but ourselves and lady luck.

The bonus points system on the other hand..........now there is something that needs an overhaul

Very fair point Gaffer - will never get it perfect and of course the crying will never cease!!

The dead teams however do frustrate. I'm still in the cup so this is not a case of sour grapes, just think it's so pointless to see those engaged sometimes getting knocked out by those with better things to do (i.e. not playing this anymore). The odd point here and there could save many teams?

New bonus points system - to start was not a huge fan, but actually is working out okay 70/80% of the time? Just need to sort out the anomalies and clean up some of the awarding rules - especially over assists and weight given to some actions.......

How are the injuries looking for the weekend? You expecting to have VDV and Lennon back for the game of the weekend? Any new injury worries? It would be very tough for us to go to the lane and get a result, even if we had a full team out, but with both cabeye and tiote missing it will be very tricky indeed! If you are missing key players too it will even it up a little and give us more of a chance!

Having said that, I don't have any stats here to back this up, but we have a good recent record against you guys. I think we've been a bit of a bogey team for you. Or am i making that up?

2-0 Spurs at the Lane last year. Newcastle havent beaten us since '08, couple of draws though. We need VDV and Lennon back, but we need Harry back more. i would think VDV is going to train this week and have a shot at starting, lennon sounds like may not be back till after the PL break.

Really? Ha. Shows how good my memory is. I guess there must have just been a period a while back when we won a few games. Cos I had a mate here who was a spurs fan and there was more than one occasion when he had to wear my toon shirt in town because we won a game!

What's the feeling on what will happen with Harry? Is the verdict this week? Would definitely give us a boost if he "isn't available", but I wouldn't want to see that happening cos I like spurs (2nd team) and hope that Harry will be next england manager (so the FA keep their grubby hands off Pardew!!)

left it all out on the pitch. we played pools style of game without our full compliment of weapons. Grinded out a needed point. parker needed to be the star and he was. its nice to see spurs get results in that fashion. you can't always rely on your attack, you cant always win possession, it aint always pretty, but they knew that, tightened up, and we are on 50 points!!!

Last year with fairly similar teams, Swansea beat Norwich 3-0 at home... I know both teams have improved considerably since then, and that this is a different game entirely... but with Norwich conceding 13 in their last 5 away games and no clean sheets in that time, this looks like the perfect time to consider a differential pick for captaincy... (0.4% ownership)

I kinda just want to try something different for a change...

ok folks this is my team for this week

    Schwarzer

    Taiwo, Caulker, Richards

McLean, Dempsey (c) Silva, Valencia, Bale

    RvP, Aguero

    Mignolet, Evans, Santon, Gerbil

not planning any transfers this week so

    a) is my team ok, subs in right order etc

    b) How does Valencia ➡ Cleverley (assuming he's back) and Gerbil ➡ Ba sound in 2 weeks

leaves enough in the bank to draft Rooney in GW28 and some change to upgrade a defender.

Cleverly has been out for a long-time. I wouldnt go making those plans for someone who was never fantasy gold to start with and is now shrouded in uncertainty after coming back from injury.

I'd look for an alternative to Cleverly to be honest and make-do with Roon & Evans as Utd coverage

    My team for GW25

    Bogdan (sorenson)
    Lescott Caulker Taiwo (Enrique Simpson)
    Silva Bale Sess Valencia (Maclean)
    RVP Aguero Ba

1 FT, 0.2 in the bank

I am playing in a monthly league, so objective is to get as many points as possible in the next 2 GW. Currently myself and 4 others are sitting on 80-90 points from GW24 due to RVP (c)

Obvious transfer is Enrique (Man U, no match) to another defender, but I prefer to transfer to players with potential explosive returns

Not enough money to upgrade Valencia--> Dempsey or Maclean --> Sigg

Slightly cautious in taking a hit, because all my rivals are sitting on 80-90 points so far.

    1) Should I do Valencia--> Sigg this week for free given the latter's fixture agaist NOR?
    2) Should I take a hit by downgrading Enrique (or Taiwo) to Kelly, and use the released cash for either Val to Demp or Maclean to Sigg?

Transfers are for 2-week views and not for long term.

    Any suggestions? thanks guys

People say Bale is apart from RVP the closest one can get to being 'fixture proof' however he's returned only 24 FPL points from 9 ish games, if one counts only the last 3 games when he's been on form, he's still only got 13 points from 3 games, that's a PPG of 4.33, Dempsey on the other hand has a PPG of around 6.5 when playing vs the Top 7.

          What???
Enrique has a sandwich of Man U and Arsenal with a filling of a blank gameweek.

As soon as he gets a red flag for the blank gameweek the driveling hoards will dump him like a hot potato, so get him out now before that happens.

But look at his fixtures after the next three. You (well,I) wouldn't really want him back until GW30.
That's a long time to bench a player of his price.
Taiwo and Bosingwa are better choices, IMHO, even though the former doesn't have much of a record.
The events that can change your entire season in the run-in are management changes (MON and Hughes) and the January transfer window.
So in my experience that QPR, Sunderland and Chelsea will be good bets for the second half of the season. Chelsea being the riskiest though.
Not having seen your team and rank and history then I can't give your comments any weight.

They just kept a clean sheet against Spurs, did so earlier in the season vs Arsenal and have proven they are tight against any opposition.
I'd have no problem playing them away to Sunderland and QPR, especially given their away record.
But seriously your argument lost it at Taiwo and Bosingwa...
QPR have kept 1 clean sheet since about GW5, and that was against a 9 man Chelsea, and Bosingwa? He is only there through other players getting injured, with Ivanovic back, Cole returning, Cahill making his debut and Terry due back this week Bosingwa won't be playing.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong please......

But from what I was told on here yesterday is it right that Ba can't rise again before the next deadline as he's already risen 0.3?

I ask because right now I can afford to do Sigs>Dyer & Morison>Ba NEXT WEEK. but if he rises even 0.1 more then I'll have to look elsewhere to make up the funds.

Although I'm pretty sure that most people on here would make my plan B (Huth>Evans - leaving me with plenty of cash to play with) their plan A and leave Sigs where he is. But my problem is that I think Sigs will be the obvious bencher every week with the front 8 I have and will cause me much heartache with points sat on my bench.

God my logic is messed up this morning (and most days 😕 )

every time a player was projected to rise a 4th time in a week this season, he didnt. There is nothing written about it, but it seems reliable to assume .3 is the max per gw. You should be ok.

Can't believe you're still standing by Huth, Gaf.

He's gotta go! Look at Stoke's schedule - he isn't going to be nailed on for the easy fixtures in 25 & 26 since he'll be playing all the other tougher games. Just my two cents. 🙂

Yes I know, I know.......Stoke are poor, have many games etc.......

But you never know with Stoke and a cheeky goal or 2 from Huth would be great too. But the main reason is that there is nobody I want in and around the 5.0-5.5 DF bracket at all.

The only player I could replace him with is JEvans and I don't really want him until GW28 (when I'd originally planned to sell Huth)

dodged a bullet this morning. 40 or so points behind my cash league's leader, looked at the liv/tot score at lunch time today remembering that he had both a liverpool and totenham defender. when i checked to my absolute glee i found that the players he had were enrique and kaboul. his two replacement defenders brought in with them a total of one point. brilliant.

Surely you could have understood by reading my actual post!?

I'm keeping Enrique for the time being, I can bench him for his blank, but beyond that I can see the potential for 5-6 clean sheets in the next 8-9 games after GW 26 along with the DGW...

Just because people tell you Liverpool have bad fixtures, doesn't make it impossible for them to keep clean sheets... last night being the perfect example...

I thought I read and understood your original post.
It's true that Tottenham failed to spark last night, but Bale should have scored when clean through.
I don't know whether that was Enrique's fault (letting him through), but if you really want to keep him then go ahead. I see him dropping in price and getting a bunch of 2 pointers. Plus a zero pointer.
The FFS H2H 7 league is tough, but I don't think I'm giving you bad advice here.

Have Sess and Siggy but in games where they both have tricky fixtures I'm afraid it will be Siggy that automatically drops to the bench.

Sess is scoring like a big hitter at the moment so (until his form dips) is undroppable. McClean is doing pretty well too

McClean looks to be the most consistent at the moment both home and away, and has arguably better fixtures - Siggurdsson's next home games are tricky, being 28 (MNC), 30 (EVE) and 32 (EVE). Even if it means owning two Sunderland attacking players, I don't see why not as they are the form team in the EPL and both players have been scoring very well.

Sunderland have Ars(h), Newc(a) and Pool(h) in their next 4 games. I'd rather have Swans fixtures to be honest -Nor (h), Stoke(a) & Wigan(a) before Man City(h).

Except for the city game I'd be happy to play Siggs in any of those games and perhaps even capt for the Norwich encounter (I won't have the balls though 🙁 )

i think it's time to stop talking shit about BAE and Enrique. just look at top 10 overall yesterday and most of them kept them. As i said you have 5 def to rotate and manage throught out these hard GWs. you can ditch them to someone during these tough GWs (3-4 GWs) but you cant guarantee the replacements can keep CS (Taiwo, Huth, Kompany, Cahill...). and after that overall they're acutally bargains.

Exactly the point I was trying to make above, regarding Enrique...

Seemed like a good idea to sell BAE and Enrique at the time 🙁

Oh well it still could be proved to be a shrewd move. I dont like Enriques fixtures plus the week where he doesnt even play.

If in 4GWs time Pool have conceded to Man Utd, Ars and maybe even Sunderland away then I think he won't be 6.0 anymore and our decisions will have been vindicated.

With BAE I've only missed out on 1,1,6,6 so far since I sold him at a big profit so I'm not too fussed
