With the Paddy Paddy Cup V sewn up last week by sleepingmaster, we now turn our attention to it’s sister competition, the Members Paddy Power Cup II. Over 900 Fantasy Football Scout members signed up, with hopes of qualifying for the first round of 512. As expected, the standard was very high, and the qualifying mark was set at a lofty 82 points for Gameweek 24.

That put 494 in the hat for round one, and forced 41 fantasy managers to rely on their overall rank to earn one of the remaining 17 spots. The list of all qualifiers can be viewed right here.

On to the first round draw then, which has been made and can be viewed right here. All 256 fixtures will be played over the upcoming Gameweek 25, and the result will follow shortly afterwards.

Our reigning champ, Kippax Kikkers (formerly Kippax Kolggers), is up against leekota, as he looks to defend his title.

Elsewhere, plenty of Scouts (not me) are in the mix – Mark takes on Shimmy, G-G-Granville has drawn Shehzu, Andy will square up to Lucas that is all, it’s Big Dunc Vs. ChrisHighwind, Pure Olivia is up against djembe, Anorak‘s been paired with Primprong, and Jonty will play johnd.

The prize? Well, once again sponsors Paddy Power are supplying the competition with some great prizes and we’re supplementing these with Amazon Vouchers. The prizes break down as follows:

  • Winner – £150 worth of free bets. £50 Amazon Voucher
  • Runner-up – £75 worth of free bets. £30 Amazon Voucher
  • 3rd Place – £50 worth of free bets. £20 Amazon Voucher

Remember, to claim a prize you will need a Paddy Power account and be aged 18 and over to be eligible. Prizes are also subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions.

If you’ve yet to register a Paddy Power account, then you can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register and bet £10.

Finally, if you set up an account and are going to bet with Paddy Power, always gamble responsibly.

    I know Ba has hit his price barrier of 0.3 for the week, and will rise Saturday.

    Question: Will he double-rise saturday? Or rise once saturday and once sunday?

    Thanks in advance

          no sunday will be .1 as price changes occur @ approx 2am so there will be no price rise sat @ 2am, there will be one on sunday @ 2am so if you buy on sunday it should be for 7.8mil

    Looking at the forecast is affecting my captaincy options. Don't want captain and VC in the same game in case it's called off. Perhaps not even in the same part of the country.

      I've taken the VC off Dempsey and given it to RVP for this reason. Bale and Dempsey playing too close for my liking.

      Hadn't thought about it geography wise. Team is currently Dempsey (C) and Bale (VC), but I might reconsider the VC now.

      Then capt one in London and VC the other somewhere up north (Demps(C) and RVP(VC)). London should be safest from cancellations.

      Maybe. Lack of cleverly hasnt really affected Rooneys goal potential. He is to blame. He has spells where he is just crap in front of goal. Thats the way he is. Every season apart from that one season where he was consistent.

    Mignolet; Lindegaard;
    Caulker; Kompany; Evans J; Kelly; Cahill;
    Silva; Ben Arfa; Dempsey; Bale; Sessegnon;
    Ba; Van Persie; Aguero;
    0.3 in the bank, 1 FT.

    Think I need to ship out Barfa, but to who? McClean is tempting, but double Sunderland midfield doesn't seem like a great idea. Sigurdsson??

            Equally it could have been one of those weeks where all the big hitters scored naff all and 40ish points got people in. What matters is how we score relative to everyone else IMO.

    With Arsenal away at Milan in the Champions League next week does anyone fear that this weekend might be the time that Wenger actually goes through with his threat to rest his prize asset? That's RVP, not Arshavin. Captaincy is a minefield this weekend. I was all set to captain Bale but his insipid performance against Liverpool has muddied the waters. He might be in line for a rest too.

    In other good news I have it on good authority that the interviews for Capello's successor are well under way: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLawk9pd7Bs

          The team is good, not sure what I'd do. I was going to ask who the second Simpson was meant to be then realised you has listed 6 defenders. Maybe Senderos to Kelly to make some money and there is a slight risk of him being injured from last week

            I suggested Senderos out, not Simpson.

            If you did Valencia to Siggy what would you do with the money? Could get an expensive defender but other than City which you have 3 players from already none have appealing fixtures at the moment.

            Maybe keep it simple and go Kompany to Richards.

              ye true- senderos is a gaurenteed starter with good fixtures, and richards is much closer to a price rise than kelly. however i go komps at 6 so would be selling for 6.2 argh, right gna put this to a vote

    Sorry, lost on last page:

    Assuming the price limit per gameweek is 0.3 and the limit per day is 0.1 in terms of price rise, will Ba be 7.9 (0.2 rise) by sunday evening? He is over 200% on FISO.

          Of the three you must pick Kompany. Caulker/Taiwo is a tricky one. Caulker better chance of a CS but since you have Vorm and Norwich score well I'd be tempted to play Taiwo and hope for attacking glory.

      Considering McClean > Sigurdsson myself, and as our teams are close to identical I don't see a better option than that for you 😉

      Who are you benching?

        atm maclean simpson and taiwo, used the clean sheet odds to help me decide- have to say reluctant to get rid of maclean as he is rising tonight so if i sell him tommorow will get 0.1 more for him. also reluctant cos he has been doing so well, gna look at swansea reasons in comparison to sunderland and c . i have dempsey skip rvp vc

          siggy has NOR sto wig and mclean has ARS wba new, not sure really have my other wildcard to play so might go siggy with those better fixtures, but don't wanna have to get maclean back for more later

    Have one FT only which is best option?

    A Walters to Siggy

    B Huth to Kompany

    C Both for a 4 pter

          For attacking points back A. Attack more important than Defense. Just make sure you prioritise getting Kompany next GW.

    I am not going to be around tomorrow to make changes to my team, so I have to sort it now ideally. I want to do Walters--->Siggy using my FT, feeling as Stoke on poor run and gives me money to upgrade Taiwo in GW28/29. So any thoughts on this team:

    Vorm
    Richards Taiwo Evans
    Bale Silva Siggy McClean/Valencia
    RVP(C) Aguero(v) Ba

    Krul McClean/Valencia Simpson Enrique

    Thoughts on starting XI, play McClean or Valencia? Ta

    I am also dropping Valencia this week, only because I really wanna start Siggy v Norwich. Enrique is a tough LB and Valencia won't get much change out of him imo (even though he did set up the goal in the FA cup the other week, but that was down to Enrique's mistake)

    Also I think now young is back, less of utd's play will be focused down the right and they will mix it up a bit more (as opposed to it all being down the right recently due to lack of options out wide)

      Agree, last weekend most of Utd attacks went down left through Young also with Smalling and Jones out Toni likely to spend some time at RB.
