The FA Cup weekend is behind us but the competition itself could well continue to prove a source of frustration for Fantasy managers, with the Premier League fixture list now hit by a series of postponements.

The FA Cup Quarter Final’s will take place on the weekend of March 17 – or Gameweek 29 in Fantasy terms. With the progress of Everton, Bolton, Sunderland, Stoke and Liverpool already sealed, their resultant Premier League fixtures will now be rescheduled.

Right now we can confirm – weather or unforeseen circumstances permitting – that the following Gameweek 29 fixtures will be untouched:

Fulham vs Swansea
Wigan vs West Brom
Wolves vs Man United
Newcastle vs Norwich

Aside from these fixtures, there’s also the Man City vs Chelsea encounter in the Gameweek which may yet be affected, should Chelsea overcome Birmingham in their FA Cup replay.

That leaves us with a list of fixtures which could now be removed from Gameweek 29 and join the Merseyside derby, formerly found in Gameweek 26, on the “pending” list. The matches in question are…

Everton** vs Arsenal
Aston Villa vs Bolton**
Blackburn vs Sunderland**
Stoke** vs Tottenham*
QPR vs Liverpool**

All this talk could be for naught of course – the Gameweek may yet remain intact. Unlike every other midweek spell from here on in, the days following the weekend of Gameweek 29 are entirely clear of any European, Cup or International fixtures. Potentially then, the fixtures above could be kept in Gameweek 29, shifting to Tuesday and Wednesday kick-offs.

While that would seem to be an obvious option, and a welcome outcome for Fantasy managers, the impact of the midweek games could still cause issues with squad rotation. Certainly, should Chelsea progress, Man City’s fixtures would be squeezed further and, with a potential Europa League Quarter-Final first leg on March 29, Roberto Mancini’s side would likely face three games in nine days at home to Chelsea, away at Stoke and then against European opposition.

Right now, this is all speculative – we can only wait in anticipation of confirmation from the Premier League. We’ll be sure to update you on the new dates and the Gameweek implications as and when news breaks.

Thoughts on my moves this week would be appreciated:

    Krul (Bogdan)
    Richards, Evans, Simpson (Huth, Kelly)
    Silva, Bale, Dempsey, Sess (Valencia)
    RVP, Aguero, Ba

I have 2 FT, 0.0m in the Bank. Will not lose value if Valencia drops by 0.1m, but I guess he is out for a while. Prepared to lose 0.1m on Huth as I can play him the following week.

Was thinking Silva to Toure and Tony V to Mata. Bad moves?

    Any ideas?

i would say bad moves. don't understand all this toure hype... before ACON he was in the squad and no one here seemed to have him. he had a couple good games but overall dont think he scored too well. not as well as silva i dont think. and i wouldn't touch chelsea for the time being. not playing well.

if anything try sess to mcclean and valencia to nani

Very good points TW. I guess wuth Chelsea's fixtures, I feel having one of their players is needed, and Mata seems only one worth while. Reluctant to sell Sess as he is OOP, but selling for McClean is worth a thought. Cheers.

I also totally agree regadring Toure. One good thing about him though is he plays 90 mins every week.

Did he not score 14 in last game? And he looked good in cup. For me silva has dipped in points due to Mancini desire to play 2 up. How about selling Richards and playing toure and silva, both cert to start and Richards isn't.

Not every game, so unless he goes goal assist crazy bet u get is 3 points more per game than toure for cs. So 1 goal for toure over next two games and then he starts scoring more. Just means u have gap in defence. I have same dilemma

Well, I plan to use my 2nd WC in GW 28/29, so if it goes wrong, I can sort it out. Nice idea.

I think Toure is popular not because he is scoring that many points but due to Silva not scoring as many points as he once did. I think that Silva will continue to be worth his price for the rest of the season due to the positive impact Yaya on in him scoring points for example Yaya gives Silva more time on the ball meaning he is more likely to score/assist.

What are people's thoughts? I am needing to replace Shotton i think...is he going to get much game time?

I'd like to get Evans in for him but would need to take a hit elsewhere in the team. Was thinking changing Sinclair or Siggy?

I have 1FT and 0.5 in the bank.

    Mignolet Krul
    Taiwo Kelly RTaylor Enrique Shotton
    Silva Bale Sigurdsson Sinclair Sessegnon
    Van Persie Aguero Ba

    Thoughts appreciated.

sorry if this seems lazy but I don't want to read through two whole posts of comments looking for something that might not be there. Has the EUROPA H2H preview been done yet?

Also hoping BAE doesn't make it (sorry to his owners) my main rival has already done a transfer and owns Valencia and BAE, him having to take a 4 or 8 point hit would be great for me (plus as I took a few hits early in the season he has made less transfers than me, so I could claw some back)

I do want to go for Rooney, but I'd rather have a city striker for the next 2 gameweeks. City and United have a huge shift in fixtures starting GW 28, so that's when I'm planning to swap.

My tie against in ENR's CL is far too close, our teams are have a 7/8 the same at the front, looks like coming down to captain choice or defender's attacking returns.

Though with the home advantage maybe I should take a 4 point hit to deal with Valencia..

I wouldn't have any at the moment, but after GW 29 I'd go for Skrtel or Agger as both have greater goal threat than Enrique. Enrique makes lots of great runs down the left, but he is more likely to assist the assist, not just cross in for a header in the box.

Personally I'll be looking to get in one of those two, probably just go with Agger as he's cheaper.

As a note, Dalglish said Agger and Bellamy missed out today through injury, but I don't think either are serious, Agger is always an injury risk, but he is always first choice when available.

    Here's my current team conumdrum:

    GW26
    One free tranny

    Vorm (Schwarzer)
    Richards, Taiwo, Santon, (Riise, Enrique)
    Silva, Bale, Sess, Demps, (Dyer)
    Rvp, Aggy, Ba

    GW 27
    Two free trannies

    Schwarzer (Vorm)
    Richards, Riise, Santon/Taiwo, (Enrique)
    Silva, Bale, Sess, Demps, (Dyer)
    Rvp, Aggy, Ba

I don't think I need to do a transfer this week or next (injuries permitting) but if I don't make one for gw 27 then I loose one. I hate that. Any ideas?

Do Riise>Evans, no need to double up on Fulham defense. And then you play Jevans instead of Taiwo.

Then next week you do Dyer>Siggy

For GW 28 you do Aggy>Rooney

      You are welcome 🙂

Doubling up is always a risk, but Pool are fairly solid defensively and also have good fixtures plus at least 1 DGW. That being said BAE is of course a decent option, but I doubt you have the cash to upgrade Caulker.

Looks good otherwise, but obviously monitor the BAE injury situation.

You'd be a brave man to get rid of RVP while he's not injured, personally I wouldn't, I think RVP always has goals in him, he is the main (only) threat in Arsenal's side and everything goes through him. I'd hold up for Aguero to Rooney GW 28 like everyone else 😛

    repost

hoping BAE doesn’t make it (sorry to his owners) my main rival has already done a transfer and owns Valencia and BAE, him having to take a 4 or 8 point hit would be great for me (plus as I took a few hits early in the season he has made less transfers than me, so I could claw some back) plus DAD is also doubtful. He has has made a change and owns Valencia, Raylor, DAD, BAE and Lindegaard. He may be in for a tough week.

    What do you think lads?

    Evening guys,

Sunday night, I've had a few glasses of wine, have I totally lost it to think about Valencia > Taarabt?

Good fixtures, first assist of the season last GW, Cisse/Zamora potentially converting his assists and apparent backing of the new manager.

I have Silva, Bale, Demps, McLean and feel the need for a differential. Could we see him finally light up FPL as some predicted back in the summer?
