Jonathan Walters grabs a penalty as Stoke see off Crawley Town. ‘Arry rings the changes at Stevenage, with four key players ruled out for Spurs. Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez are amongst the goals as Liverpool hammer Brighton to continue their unbeaten domestic cup run and advance to the Sixth Round:

Jonathan Walters
The Irishman had started up front alongside Peter Crouch in the midweek Europa League clash with Valencia but was shifted back into midfield against Crawley yesterday. Walters’ out-of-position status is becoming increasingly reduced as the weeks go by- a clear worry for his 12% Fantasy owners ahead of the upcoming home games with Swansea and Norwich.

With Tony Pulis ringing the changes after Thursday’s 1-0 defeat, Cameron Jerome partnered Crouch up top once again, as Walters was shuffled out to the wing. Despite missing his last spot-kick against West Brom in Gameweek 22, Walters –who has dropped from 6.7 to 6.5 in recent weeks, was still handed penalty duties yesterday, slotting home the opener in the Potters’ 2-0 win.

Peter Crouch
The former Spurs man grabbed Stoke’s second, heading home just after the break to help secure victory. The afore-mentioned home games will perhaps see Fantasy investment in Pulis’ squad and, with Crouch the only real guarantee up front right now, his goal will have turned a few heads. A look at his performances at the Britannia highlights the fact that Crouch has been far from prolific in front of his own fans, though; he has found the net in just two home games this season, with his last coming against Blackburn in Gameweek 13.

Harry Goes 3-5-2
After their 5-0 win over Newcastle, Spurs came back down to earth with a bang yesterday, as Stevenage held Harry Redknapp’s visitors to a goalless draw. The Tottenham boss opted for a 3-5-2 formation, handing Ryan Nelsen his first start for the London outfit, while Louis Saha kept his place up front, with Jermain Defoe coming into the first XI.

Redknapp fielded a much-changed lineup but, despite the likes of Gareth Bale, Scott Parker and Kyle Walker all featuring, the away side were hugely disappointing. Bale was granted a role “in the hole”, tucking in behind the front pair before Redknapp switch to a 4-4-2 on the hour mark, but Spurs rarely threatened, with just five efforts on target all match. A replay date of Wednesday March 7 at the Lane now provisionally penciled in.

Spurs Injury Worries
Post-match, Redknapp outlined the reasons for his host of first-team alterations. Ahead of next Sunday’s north London derby with Arsenal, the Spurs boss gave Fantasy managers plenty to ponder, after revealing he has concerns over four key players. Benoit Assou-Ekotto had a minor groin operation on Monday and is a doubt, Emmanuel Adebayor twisted his knee in training and missed out, Luka Modric is suffering from flu, while Rafael Van der Vaart is still recovering from a calf problem.

The absence of Assou-Ekotto is not only a worry for his 24% Fantasy owners, it may possibly have a knock-on effect on Gareth Bale. The Welshman would be the natural replacement at left-back in Assou-Ekotto’s possible absence, though given his attacking output this term, Redknapp would be more inclined to keep Bale further up the pitch for the Arsenal game, given the Gunners’ current frailties at the back.

Martin Skrtel
The centre-half underlined his increased goal threat by grabbing the opener against the Seagulls. Skrtel headed the Reds on their way within five minutes and has now bagged three goals this term; his highest haul since joining up at Anfield four seasons ago. The Slovakian is Liverpool’s top-scoring FPL defender so far, with 95 points, and with an upturn in fixtures from Gameweek 29 onwards, Skrtel’s 6% ownership –compared to Jose Enrique’s 32%, for example- could prove a handy differential in the final quarter. Elsewhere in defence, Jamie Carragher came in alongside Skrtel in the heart of the back-four, with injury ruling out Daniel Agger.

Luis Suarez
An assist for an own goal, a missed penalty and a late goal in the 6-1 rout completed an eventful day for the Uruguayan. With Craig Bellamy ruled out due to injury, Suarez started alongside Andy Carroll and Steven Gerrard for the very first time and the Merseysiders looked lethal going forward. Granted, Brighton hardly helped their own cause with three own goals but the fact that this was Liverpool’s biggest win since Dalglish returned to the club last season perhaps bodes well for the attacking assets over the remainder of the campaign.

Suarez won’t be head of the queue for penalties, though. Dalglish revealed after the game that he “let sentiment get in the way” when he asked the regular spot-kick takers to step aside for the Uruguayan in the 80th minute. The likes of Charlie Adam and Dirk Kuyt were both on the pitch when Suarez saw his spot-kick saved by Peter Brezovan but with Dalglish going on to concede “I’ll learn my lesson”, Suarez looks likely to once again remain further back in the pecking order.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I don't think so, Nelson is really only a reserve, and it's too difficult to predict when King's knee will allow him to play.

To answer your question, yes, essentially all noise is the transmission and conversion of energy from one form to another, noise travels in the form of waves which 'carries' that energy, so since, the dog barked, energy was transported and a noise was made, only you are too deaf to hear it, get yourself a hearing aid, man.

But I would look at a Bolton/Wigan mid for Wk28 and maybe swap for Siggy for GW33.

    Krul-Mignolet
    Caulker-BAE-Evans-Skrtel/Agger-Santon
Dempsey-Bale-Silva-McClean-Ryo Miyaichi. The last two rotates perfectly and I like Ryo very much.

Not everything is WYSIWIG. My statistical write up on Europa league Group G

An interesting mix of players. They have scored average if 55~56 in the last 13 weeks. Gameweek 18 has been a disappointment for the group with everyone getting below the FPL average of 42.

Count of Monte Hristo is the top pick of the group. In the last 13 gwks, Count of MH has scored 728 points at an average of 56 points (45.5 FPL average). Highest in the group for the last 13 weeks. Being the top player of the group, he comes with a pedigree and expectation to perform.

His first half of the game (GW1 to GW12) has been amazing. From outside if 500k, he had cut into top 7k. But the second half has been a bit of a sluggish performance. In the last 13 weeks, CMH has outscored other three players just 4 times (as against a 6 in the first 12). He has also scored lowest in the group 5 weeks (as against zero times in the first 12). This shows a mixed outlook, and may be a worrying factor. This is even after taking 32 points hit in the first 12 weeks against just 8 points hit in the last 13 weeks. He has reduced the hits and has reduced his scoring level as well.

A matter of concern: In the last 10 games, he outscored the group only twice. (GW 19 & GW 25). These two weeks had really low scoring rates across FPL. Also, thrice in last 5 weeks, he scored the lowest score in group (GW 21, 22 and 23)

This is definitely an issue, which I am sure; CMH will address to get back to his winning ways.

The second player is 1966 is the year, who scored 710 points at an average of 54.62.
He has been a consistent performer throughout the last 10 weeks (I am limiting the description to last 10 weeks). His score was less than that of the group only once. (GW 25). This was also the only time his average fell below the FPL average. Being a low scoring game week, this is understandable. In the last 10 weeks, 1966 has amassed an impressive total of 555 points against 524 by CMH as well as group underdog Seaunicorn. I would personally tip 1966 to be the leader of the group to the knockout stage.

The third player TeamZm is similar to 1966 with a slightly higher average of 54.85 per week. He hasn't outscored anyone else in the group for last 9 gameweek. But the week where he scored last also has been way back in GW19. He had made multiple changes running into GW19 which I guess resulted in his much better performances going onwards. A shrewd thinking on his part. Unless CMH makes due note of this, I can see Teamzm piping CMH into second position.

Now the underdog, season beginner seaunicorn (yours truly, me). This is his first’ season which is very evident in his first half of low scores and huge point hits. He has somewhat understood the true purpose of the game and has mended his ways since then. In the last 10 weeks he has scored as much as the group leader CMH. The interesting facet being (out of last 10 weeks) in 4 weeks, he has outscored others in his group. This is the better than all other 3 players. At the same time, 4 weeks he has scored the least in the group. He has outscored others mostly on low scoring matches. So, in a low scoring FPL week, he can be a pain the wrong arse. A player who may not qualify for next round but enough to be a thorn in the dreams of others.

    ‘Nuff said

    FFS Europa League Preview

    GROUP C

    PSV (Funkyav – Rank: 2,105)
No other manager seems to have taken on his new persona like Funkyav and I challenge you not to love this manager's new gravatar. Furthermore he has started to pronounce every 's' as 'sh' and just last night announced his team's anthem to be "Pass the Dutchie". Indeed but everyone will be raising their games and gunning for Funkyav as he is the highest ranked manager in the whole competition. In the top 10k since GW12, he has fought commendably to stay there and will be gunning for a top 1k finish this year. Not a single hit all season and a WC still available should give you some indication as to how serious a player we are dealing with here. Previous finishes of 6883rd and 379th means he is an obvious title challenger and will take some beating. He has to be the favourite in this group at least.
Key differential = Juan Mata will need to eclipse Clint Dempsey’s output however he does have other aces up his sleeves with James McClean, Victor Moses and Jose Enrique.

    H. Tel-Aviv (Billy Ketsu – Rank: 34,208)
Billy is the top seed from Pot 2 and as such he’ll be hoping to clinch one of those two qualification spots. The last minute addition of Menly Men and Happyankit to the group has really opened up the possibilities however. I’m choosing this as my “Group of Death” as there is so little to choose between all of the teams. Billy has his work cut out for him then if he wants one of those coveted first two spots but after finishing 13,602nd last season, he will be fairly confident.
Key differential = This is a team full of solid but extremely common picks. It’s hard to therefore single out his “upper hand”. Clean sheets from Stephen Kelly or Michael Turner will definitely help. More interestingly his games against Funkyav may well be settled by a straight Mata v Dempsey dogfight.

Rapid Bucuresti (Menly Men – Rank: 524,648)
Shugobot and his massive team value of 108.1m with 3.2m in the bank has departed the competition to be replaced by Menly Men. Menly likes to announce his arrival on the board with his trademark odd entrances which have endeared him to many on the site. He’s a welcome addition to the competition. His rank may lead you discount him as one of the “also rans” but on closer inspection you’ll see he only started his season in GW5. Since then he has climbed a truly breath-taking 2 million places from around 2.4million to his current rank. Call him Black Beauty because this boy is a dark horse!
Key differential = Again we have another “cookie-cutter” side here unfortunately but Menly will be looking for inspiration from QPR’s Nigerian left back Taye Taiwo.

Legia (Happy Ankit – Rank: 526,424)
Bookaholic has been expelled from the competition to be replaced by the more familiar HappyAnkit. Ankit is a well-liked character on the boards and why not, he’s happy! Ankit actually began his journey in GW2 so like groupmate Menly his current rank is a little deceptive. To be fair, considering he only missed one gameweek his current rank is still a pretty disappointing but he has worked his socks off to climb over 1.2million places since GW2. Not quite as impressive as Menly Men’s meteoric rise, he’s more of a little comet.
Key differential = Strong differentials really are hard to come by in Group C however Ankit will be hoping to toast some Newcastle Brown Ale with Ryan Taylor after the Group stages have wrapped up.

    Fantasy Johnstone's Paint Trophy Preview:

I never got round to setting this up there were no firm expressions of interest, and there's only one game left in the actual competition, the whole idea was ill-conceived.
