Rafael Van der Vaart looks set to return to the Spurs starting lineup, after Harry Redknapp confirmed that he has trained all week ahead of the derby showdown with Arsenal.

Emmanuel Adebayor and Benoît Assou-Ekotto should also shake off respective problems, whilst Luka Modric looks likely to recover from the flu. Their counterparts could well have a reinforced backline with Laurent Koscielny and Kieran Gibbs potentially recovering; a decision will be made on the pair tomorrow.

Ryan Taylor has recovered from an ankle injury for Newcastle as they take on Wolves – whose leading scorer Steven Fletcher is a doubt with a virus. Elsewhere, Junior Hoilett is fit for Blackburn, whilst reports suggest that Tom Cleverely may have suffered an ankle injury during Manchester United’s game with Ajax.

    after the 5-0 and 5-2 maulings anyone scared that santon maybe a rotation risk? not deliberately scarin ppl.. honestly askin as i wanna get him in.. with williamson, simpson and colo nailed on he's the only scapegoat who has a replacement in set piece man raylor.. or will perch/guthrie etc be blamed for it allowin pardew to move on

      Perch and Guthrie thought the blame I thought. The injuries meant they were playing a known dodgy CB Perch in midfield and I believe Pardew actually identified midfield as the problem. Don't think Santon will take the rap, he has also played happily in some good recent CS's.

    Really struggling this week, this is how I have the boys lined up:

    Sorenson,
    Richards, BAE, Kelly,
    Silva (v), Bale, Demps, Moses,
    Ba (c), Dzeko, RVP
    (Linde, Sess, Huth [suspended], Enrique [no game])

    So if one of my defenders does not play I am screwed (with all this talk of Richards not playing, that is making me worried), so any advice on the following would be appreciated:

    1. Do I take out Huth for a hit (probably to Santon)
    2. Is it right to have Sess on the bench (chances are someone won't play in my front 7, but sods law will dictate Sess scoring and Silva/Dzeko coming on for a 1 point bench killer)
