Another QPR home debut, another red card, another loss. After Djibril Cissé did the honours in the eventual Gameweek 24 loss to Wolves, it was the turn of Mali midfielder Samba Diakité to woo his new supporters with a red card, this time after 33 minutes of the clash with Fulham.

While QPR led at the time of Cissé’s indiscretion, an early goal by Fulham’s Pavel Pogrebnyak meant QPR were already chasing, and the six fouls racked up by Diakité in the 32 minutes of his debut were too many for referee Phil Dowd (fouls number four and six drew the cards if you’re interested). Mark Hughes will now be without both these new charges for the Gameweek 27 visit of Everton.

The other red card this weekend went to Tottenham’s Scott Parker, with just two fouls this time enough to warrant his two yellow cards for fouls on Robin van Persie and Thomas Vermaelen but, as with Diakité, the damage was already done before his dismissal, courtesy of a resounding comeback from Arsenal. Parker will therefore be missing for the visit of second placed Manchester United in Gameweek 27, though the appearance of Sandro from the bench in yesterday’s game suggests a like for like replacement is available if required.

Finally onto the suspension tightrope, and still the solitary name in immediate danger of a ban. Lee Cattermole showed enough restraint in the 4-0 thumping by West Brom to avoid a caution and therefore remains on nine yellow cards for the season. Behind him, on eight yellows, we still find Raul Meireles, John Terry and Joey Barton and now following a booking picked up in the win over Swansea, Stoke captain Ryan Shawcross joins the group two yellows away from the threshold. There’s also a late addition to this group thanks to a discrepancy between the FA and Opta. The FA today confirmed to us that the Arsenal’s Laurent Koscielny did indeed pick up his eighth booking of the season in the win over Spurs; our friends at Opta have now tweaked their data accordingly.

GAMEWEEK 27 BANS

  • Gaël Givet (BLA) – 1 Red for serious foul play (last of 3 matches)
  • Jason Lowe (BLA) – 10 Yellows (last of 2 matches)
  • Djibril Cissé (QPR) – 1 Red for serious foul play (last of 3 matches)
  • Samba Diakité (QPR) – 1 Red for 2 Yellows (1 match)
  • Scott Parker (TOT) – 1 Red for 2 Yellows (1 match)

"Villa's Barclays Premier League game against Bolton will now be played on Tuesday March 20.

The Villa Park match will kick-off at 7.45pm.

The game was postponed from Sunday, March 18 due to the participation of the Trotters in the FA Cup sixth round that weekend."

    GW29 team assembly line.

Assuming Chelsea knock Birmingham out I can field.

    Schwarzer

    Evans Santon Kelly

    Valencia Dempsey

    Papiss

Add Kompany, Silva & Aguero to that should Birmingham prevail in the cup.

That leaves me with 2 FT between now and GW29 with the following outfield players to get rid of.

    Taiwo, Bale, McClean, RVP

With the 2 FT I have what are my best options for transfers?

Taiwo to McAuley is straightforward but that gives me a back 5 for GW29 so thinking I should focus on Midfield/Foward

    Any help appreciated. Cheers

Keep RVP and Bale, McAuley, Olsson or Ridgewell are all options from West Brom, along with Andrews or Morrison as cheap mid options. Don't worry too much about City players, everyone has at least 2 so if they don't play, everyone's going to be taking 12 point hits to field a full 11, or they'll be fielding 7-8 players.

A quick overveiw on cheap Midfield options, here we go.

Pilkington(£5.2m) - The Norwich City midfeilder has been one of the stand out players this season for the Canaries delivering 7 goals this season from 22 apperances on the Left-Wing, including two in the past three Gameweeks against Swansea and Bolton respectively. The ex-Huddersfield man also has some favourable fixtures coming up including a home tie against fellow promoted side Swansea. Norwich also feature in Gameweek 29 at the Sports Direct Arena as they take on Newcastle in one of only 5 games due to take palce during that Gameweek.

    Next 6: Stoke City(A),Wigan (H),Newcastle(A),Wolves (H),Fulham (A),Everton(H).

McClean(£4.8m) - The young Irishman failed to feature under Steve Bruce this season, not off the bench. But Martin O'Neill gambled on the youngster to make an impression, statrting with a few sub apperances. McClean then featured for the full 90 minutes in the home game against Man City, in which he recieved 3 bonus points. This was followed up by a goal and 3 bonus points once again as Sunderland beat Wigan 4-1 at the DW. By then the bandwagon was officially on, and those who got on early were rewarded with 26 points scored over the next 3 gameweeks. Despite these scorers many managers have been fustrated of having the Winger on the bench for his above-par scores, although his fixtures take a turn for the worst in coming weeks.

    Next 6: Newcastle(A),Liverpool (H),N/A,QPR(H),Man City(A),Tottenham(H).

Moses(£4.8m) - The Holy one as he as known as around these parts failed to live up to his potential earlier in the season and has become the laughing stock of this site ever since, despite praise from Mark. The English born Nigerian's best game came at an unexpected time, a 13 point haul Away at The Hawthorns after numerous 2 pointers. Yet many still back him to do well in his next few games against the less sides in the league.

    Next 6: Swansea(H),Norwich(A),West Brom (H),Liverpool (A),Stoke City(H),Chelsea(A)

Myaichi(£4.9m) - The Arsenal loanee has yet to prove hamself at Bolton but keeping Bulgarian Martin Petrov out of the side is always a good start. With many already looking beyond the next few gameweeks Myaichi's fixture look rather easy compared to others but a bare fixture in Gameweek 29 will leave many looking for alternatives to the Japanese winger rather than having less than 11 in the side.

    Next 6: Man City(A),QPR (H),N/A,Blackburn(H),Wolves(A),Fulham(H)

N.Dyer(£4.8) - Dyer has been the main benchwarmer for many sides and when called upon he gave Fantasy managers a 10 point haul in Gmeweek 20 followed by 13 points at Home to Arsenal a week later. Despite those hauls he hasn't returned much more than 2 or 3 throughout the season. He has also been pulled off early in recent weeks which is a bad sign for many Dyer owners as his Gametime may be limited in weeks to come with competition from Wayne Routledge on the right-wing.

    Next 6: Wigan(A),Man City(H),Fulham(A),Everton(H),Tottenham(A),Newcastle(H).

    Vorm

    Demps-Bale-Silva-Sessegnon
    Welbeck-RVP-Ba

    Bench:Krul-Caulker-Santon-Valencia

I was thinking to do Welbeck>Pogrebnyak, good move or too much Fulham?
    Or maybe Welbeck>Yakubu?
Or maybe a punt on Gabby for Welbeck?
(keep in mind that I’ll WC for GW 28/30.)

Or any other suggestions to transfers I could do this week? Or should I just stay with my team? 🙂

Forget your keeper problem until after week 29. Vorm will do and you have bigger fish to fry.

You look to have 8 players playing in 29, assuming Senderos starts. I'd go for Rooney, as you plan, but look for players from teams in wk 29, rather than McC. News at the top of the page suggests Bolton might be playing, so maybe Miyachi?

Of course, the games might just get rescheduled for later within the gameweek ...

He seems to have less of a free role in a 442 with Adebayor and Saha up top so it's not looking good. For Tottenham's good fixtures I'm thinking of going with just Walker/BAE (hopefully making the right choice for once) and Adebayor.

I don't understand the fuss about the gw 29 fixtures, if you actually READ the article ON THIS SITE, you will know that most of these fixtures will more likely be rescheduled for a later date in GW29.

Actually there looks like there will only be 7 fixtures I think that week. The mersey side derby is looking like it will be scheduled then which wipes out the Arsenal and QPR matches.

The time has come guys, brace yourself.....IT'S RMWCT for GW 28/30,depends on whether the games in GW 29 will be played midweek or not. 😛
Guessing you are all bored of my RMWCT for the future but I am bored again......
This is my preliminary WC team atm:

    Krul-Mignolet
    Santon-Evans-Enrique-Caulker-Kelly
    Dempsey-Silva-Bale-Valencia-McClean
    Odemwingie-RVP-Rooney

    0.0M in bank.

Any opinions please from the bored people? 🙂

Nice, but surely you'll want rid of Dempsey, his fixtures take a turn for the worse and he's no longer a OOP. I'd also like to question the lack of Spurs defence, surely by downgrading Dempsey you could afford Kaboul.

Anyone getting rid of Ba? Give him one more week and then might do Ba -> Rooney to give the following front 3:

    Rooney, Aguero, VP

(would need to lose Dempsey to someone like Sig though)

Worth it or keep and just do Kun -> Rooney?
