The first of Gameweek 29’s postponed fixtures due to FA Cup involvement has now been rescheduled and, as expected, it’s dropped into a midweek slot on March 20.

Aston Villa have confirmed that their clash with Bolton, formerly set for Sunday March 17, has moved to Tuesday March 20. Although unconfirmed, this should see the fixture remain in the Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 29.

We now await confirmation of the rescheduling of the remaining fixtures postponed due to FA Cup ties. These include:

Everton vs Arsenal
Blackburn vs Sunderland
Stoke vs Tottenham
QPR vs Liverpool

The Man City vs Chelsea clash, currently scheduled for Monday March 19, is also in doubt, should Chelsea see off Birmingham in their FA Cup replay on March 6.

Tonight’s confirmation from Villa is surely a positive sign that would indicate that all these games will, once again, return to Gameweek 29. We will bring you confirmation, with out season tickers updated once the FPL update the Gameweek.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    good morning sleepyheads

    exciting news at Shakhtar Donetsk.

After a disappointing drubbing at the weekend, manager Fuzzy Czarbles was seen leaving the clubhouse on the warpath. Attempts were made by the press to approach Mr. Czarbles for some Q & A, but anyone who got within five feet of him were lunged at by his hat, equipped with razor sharp claws and a penchant for shedding. Mr. Czarbles did finally release a statement after a night of binge drinking and cavorting with mail-order brides-to-be.

"Disgusting. I am disgusted. I have already fired Ivan Drago as head trainer. His treatment of Micah Richards and Philippe Senderos was beyond negligible. Sorensen has been ordered to leave the ground today after clearly not showing up over the weekend. We cannot have insubordination on this squad. I've done some scouting in the Middle East, and I think I have found a wonderful replacement between the sticks. I don't want to reveal him just yet, but O-Man! you're gonna love him."

Obviously this mental Ahab of football is referring to one Ali Al-Habsi. One can only surmise Mr. Czarbles felt the need to withhold this information out of sheer embarrassment. After posting the worst scoreline in the first round of games in the group stage, Shakhtar Donetsk is already on full tilt.

This week is already an elimination game. a home game against Apoel Nicosia, the other club in the group who didnt win. a loss here will surely be the final nail in this Ukranian coffin.

Immediately following a resounding win over Bayern Munich that surprised many, Villareal's Manager TW was nowhere to be seen. Reporters searched everywhere but he was nowhere to be found.

However the following day, TW appeared in front of a crowded room of reporters. Unlike rival manager Robert Newman-cini's flashy displays for the press, TW was far more simplistic and humble. When pressed with questions regarding his disappearance following the game, TW replied, "I would like to apologize for seemingly disappearing yesterday following our victory. I did not mean to disappear, I merely wanted to spend the time with my team celebrating our big win yesterday. We are ecstatic to be top of the group for the time being and hope to keep it this way. While many call our victory over group favorites Bayern, I knew from the beginning that we have a quality squad who can challenge even the toughest of opponents. Our team played well yesterday and I am proud of them for their good effort and fearless play. However I also know that we got a bit lucky with Rooney being out with a sore throat for them and the away fixture against Bayern will be a greater fixture which although we must be mindful, I think we can overcome.

Manager TW then went on to further discuss the team's performance the previous day. "I made the mistake of captaining Ba over Aguero but thankfully that did not hurt us too much and hopefully I will not make the same error again. Aguero, RVP, Bale, Silva, and Simpson all contributed well with good attacking returns and it was nice for Kelly to be able to get us the cleansheet."

On his missing players, TW responded, "It was rather unfortunate that Richards was unable to play but we were fortunate to have strong defensive cover in Kelly so that was not too much of an issue. More unfortunate was the sickness of Michel Vorm, but we are hopeful he will be better in time for our next match. We will also need to investigate the situation with Sorensen and may have to release him and find a replacement."

Lastly, Manager TW spoke about their away match up against Napoli, "The away fixture will be difficult as they will have home advantage. They have a very strong yet similar side so we may have to look to make an unexpected move and take a big gamble this week in order to overcome their home advantage."

He then opened the floor up to any questions...

I did not pay off Zep Guardiola nor do I think he intentionally fielded a weak side. Why would anyone want to purposely lose, especially in a competition as grand as this one. However I will not deny my interest in managing Barca one day and hope my success in this tournament will interest the Barca board into hiring me next season

        so he should be counted?

alright. about halfway through all the teams, so far we have 1 manager with 5 injured/suspended/rested/rotated and one with 4+ enrique, then theres another with 4 and then myself with 3+ enrique.

very true ;). i meant to start enrique but forgot as I was too undecided about my captain choice...

also over half so far captained aguero so not sure how to go about captain reliable... wondering if we should change it to captain differential reliable or something like that (best differential captain) cuz if everyone captains aguero next week and he scores a hat trick it will be kind of silly to put in every single person's name when everyone did the same thing. thoughts?

Hmm true that. I was hoping there would be a RVP(C) somewhere. 😕

In that case, captain reliable doesn't make sense. I can imagine so many RVP (C) over the Blackburn game. Methinks let's scrap this award or why don't you add in one of the other two Hall of Fame ideas you had?

3 teams to go and no rvp as of yet : P.

yeahh i was thinking either scrap it or change it to captain differential or something like that. so this week if someone had captained rvp or luiz then they would get it. or maybe ill add one of those awards.... almost done though so maybe add it next week im thinking

but just checking once more, enrique and baines, etc count towards hot urine yes?

Wouldn't be advisable to add in awards from Matchday 2. Either we add one of those 2 you had suggested (Bonus/Ruthless) this week instead of Capt Reliable, or we just scrap that award altogether.

Yup, definitely. If they were in the 11.

ok good point. im thinking i will try to add the bonus one if I have time but not sure if I will in which case maybe we should just scrap it....

ohh oops i think I messed that up a bit. I just did every player that didnt play so just total number of players injured/suspended/rotated/didn't play... cuz i figured it shows which players are most unfortunate/have squads hit the hardest. maybe we can change the award wording slightly?

Tempting bandwagons that will likely ensnare me (As Drenthe did 🙁 )

    Kolerov 6.1m

5,6,15 in the last 3 gameweeks. Seems to have gone ahead of Cliche in the pecking order as he offers much more on attack. Has the highest average ppg for a defender. Could be a replacement for the frustrating Richards.

    Cahill 5.2m

Looks set to start the next 6 games or so as Terry will be out for a while. A cheap price for a Chelsea defender.

    R Taylor 5.3m

His oopness is calling. Playing in the midfield he will get attacking returns to bolster his defensive output. Was unlucky to score against wolves and his current price is cheap considering he will likely rise a lot in the next few weeks especially if he delivers goals or assists.

    WBA midfielder Morrison 5.3m/Andrews 4.5m

Suddenly WBA are an attacking force and Morrison is in the centre of it with 34 points in the last 5 games. The cut price option of promising player Keith Andrews is the cheaper alternative. He has scored 20 points in one and a half games.

    Holt 5m

He is now delivering on his pre-season promise thanks to regular starts. Could be a real runaway bandwagon

    Pogrebnyak 6m

Has scored in each of the two games he has played and is the main striker for Fulham. People may look to get rid of the expensive Dempsey and look to capture this cheaper alternative.

Kolorov - check his games played in FPL, compare with Richards'. Frying pan = hot hot fire.

Cahill - No gw29 probably. Other wise ok. His boss is going mad.

Raylor - Of course, Raylor! It's bloody Raylor. Will it mean doubling though?

      WBA - Patience, man.

Holt - Grant Holt!! Swap him for Graham in 6 weeks. Luverly for a cheapie.

Poggy (and Best) - The unknown is always so tantalising! A punt, but could be a good idea for 6.

Remember, you're now in a knockout comp. Prudence and patience. Excelsior!

This game is so boring nowadays, all teams look 80 % same so chasing mini-league leader is almost hopeless 🙁

    So what do you guys recommend;

    a) walters => mcclean before price rise as planned, meaning bench mcclean and play sess this gw
    b) save transfer and play walters + bench sessegnon

    Plus sides for
    a) not very good things happen when you change your plans just to be little different
    b) walters is a bit of a differential nowadays, so IF he outscores sess.....

The change your team. Ryan-Kazan just gave some potentially high scoring differentials above. Cahil, Kolerov, then you could also consider Ba to Cisse. Yaya instead of Silva. Ade istead of Ba/Aguero. I think it is becuase of all the WC's that teams are so similar.
      Take some risks

Yes it's definetely because of those wc's and with one free transfer for a week it's bit difficult to overhaul your team.
Taking hits just to make your team different is definetely not the way to go.
I could keep aguero instead of chancing him for rooney for gw28, but I don't see the point there either.

Probably Siggy's. I want to sell Sess too, and if i didnt have him, Siggy would be the one i'd get out of those. He's on all set pieces and looks threatening. Swansea's fixtures aren't too bad.

I can't do the Sess transfer 'til next week, and I'm wondering too.

Pedersen (punt) and Cabaye/Guti aren't terrible either. I want Siggy the most, but if he's risen too much by the time I can bring him in/the fact I'm bringing him in for Man City game is kinda swaying me in other directions.

Taarabt's chances of FPL points probably increase when Cissé is back as he was linking really well with him in the brief time they played together, before that moment of Roger Johnson throat grabbing madness that has probably sealed my team's relegation fate!

Morrison on a hot streak right now and WBA are safe so no pressure on them anymore. Worth a punt.

      Siggy is another decent alternative.

ok first glance at Apoel Nicosia

    Vorm (sorensen)

    Richards, Kelly, Taiwo,

    Silva, Bale, Dempsey, Valencia, McClean

    RVP, Aguero, Ba

    (Simpson, Valencia, Caulker)

thinking if valencia is a doubt, he may go mcclean and therefore would want to bench simpson. also wouldnt want to double up on swansea defense. he may start valencia over mcclean, and conversely start simpson over taiwo. Logical?
    vs

    Al Habsi (sorensen)

    Richards, Vermaelen, Senderos, Santon

    Silva, Bale, Dempsey, Sessegnon

    RVP, Aguero, Ba

    (Dyer, Evans....who do i bench?) +4 points, 0 FTs.

    Can i win like this?

          His team should be:

          Vorm (Sorenson)

          Richards, Kelly, Taiwo

          Silva, Bale, Dempsey, Valencia

          RvP, Aguero, Ba

          Simpson, McClean, Caulker)

If I were playing it. Simpson comes on for Richards/Kelly, McClean comes on for Valencia.

Basically Valencia/McClean vs. Sess/Vermaelen. If money talks, you've won.

i hope he starts valencia to be honest. i think he may be sub on for nani or young on 60 minutes or thereabouts. hopefully a nice 1 pointer for him.

You certainly can win this. Capt choice will be vital. Lots of variance in defense, with Verm a big plus.

Many variables, Valencia fitness etc. I think I may shade you to win this, esp with home advantage.

      Why Sess over Dyer btw?

      Him: Vorm; Kelly, Simp/Taiwo ; Valencia/McC
      You: AAH; Send, Verm; Dyer/Sess + 4

I'd fancy you with the Verminator + 4 over Simp/Taiwo. It could boil down to your 3rd defender and (C) choice again.

Hmm usually does. But wonder if there will be managerial directions to both teams after New let in 7 goals in the last two games and Sunderland shipping 4 to Wba.

i would expect both clubs to make the effort to tighten up, but i cant see ether team keeping a CS. Even if newcastle leak only one goal, i gotta hope sess is invovled. its looking likely this may be my last gw with my Unhealthy ObSessegnon.

didnt mean to imply benching him. just may make your decision easier if he were to be ruled out. i cant tell you who to bench because im playing al habsi so i dont want to see graham favoured over anyone!!!

I am going to get out Sessegnon in order to free up some money for later to get in Rooney and a few others, but who should I get in for him, McLean or Sigurdsson?

I think Sigurdsson is slightly better but having no Sunderland attacking coverage may hurt me.

The rest of my attack is ; Silva-Bale-Valencia-Dempsey-?
    RVP - Aguero - Ba

cheap midfielders seem to be the talking point on this page, scroll up and you will get several POV's on mcclean, siggy, morrison, andrews, miyaichi, moses.......im thinking sess->miyaichi next week as of right now. sigurdsson is probably the best bet though with his set piece work.

He'll prob mbe mostly on the bench, so I'd go as high as your budget allows upto 5. Anything nearer 4.5 or even under could allow you to upgrade elsewhere.

    Just logged in for the first time after I left on Saturday to see that Vorm didn't play at Stoke..;

Absolutely gutted cos it meant that 4vets got Schwarzer's 8pts from the bench, and as a result turned me over in my own home game...

    Booo... 🙁

That's mighty unfortunate. On such fine margins is Europe's elite competition decided. It's even more dramatic than the 2-2.

Plenty of games left - over 10 points should see you through. If not, you may get to face Stoke... 😉
