Just as Jason Lowe has cemented himself as the Suspension Tightrope poster boy in the last few months, referee Mike Dean is fast becoming his equivalent for the Men in Black column. The Wirral-based official was once again in the headlines, with a flurry of cards and couple of spot-kicks in Sunday’s ill-tempered showdown at the Sports Direct Arena.

Not content with six cautions inside the first 25 minutes of the Tyne-Wear derby, the action packed game eventually finished with Dean showing nine yellow cards and two straight reds for the visitors, in addition to the anticipated penalty.

Fantasy favourite Stéphane Sessègnon was the first to receive his marching orders; the Benin international was dismissed for striking Newcastle’s Chieck Tioté and will now begin a three-match suspension, ruling him out of the upcoming league matches against Liverpool and Blackburn, as well as the FA Cup tie with Everton. Sessegnon will be available for the Gameweek 30 home clash against QPR.

Black Cats skipper Lee Cattermole is out for even longer, though, with the club confirming earlier today he is set to serve a four-match suspension. Cattermole went into yesterday’s game sitting on nine bookings and his first-minute minute caution for a foul on Tioté meant he was due to receive a two-match suspension for accruing 10 yellows. After the final whistle, however, the combative midfielder picked up a straight red card for foul and abusive language towards Dean, earning himself another automatic two-match ban. Cattermole will now miss the league games against Liverpool, Blackburn and QPR, in addition to the Everton FA Cup game, and will be available for selection for the Gameweek 31 trip to Man City.

While many may feel Cattermole’s absence could affect the Black Cats resilience, a look at the stats since Martin O’Neill’s arrival perhaps indicates otherwise. Sunderland have played eight games with Cattermole in the starting line-up, returning 2 clean sheets and conceding 10 goals, while in the five games he has missed for the new manager, the Wearsiders have returned 2 clean sheets and conceded 4 goals, with Jack Colback proving a more than able deputy.

Also troubling the FA disciplinary section this weekend was Swansea midfielder Nathan Dyer. The winger’s studs up challenge on Jordi Gomez was deemed worthy of a straight red card by referee Andre Marriner, meaning that Dyer will now miss home games against Man City and Everton and the trip to in-form Fulham. With the club confirming they will not be appealing the decision earlier this afternoon, Dyer’s absence should afford Wayne Routledge a fresh chance to add to his Premier League minutes over the next few matches.

GAMEWEEK 28 BANS

  • Nathan Dyer (SWA) – 1 Red for serious foul play (first of 3 matches)
  • Lee Cattermole (SUN) – 1 Yellow takes season tally to 10 bookings. 1 red for foul and abusive language (first of 4 matches)
  • Stéphane Sessègnon (SUN) – 1 Red for violent conduct (first of 3 matches)

Just a footnote :Van Persie was born on 6 August 1983 in a multi-ethnic area of Rotterdam to an artistic family. José Ras, his mother, is a painter and jewelry designer who also teaches children with special needs.[87] Bob, his father, is a sculptor. After Van Persie's parents divorced he was brought up by his father. At school, Van Persie was one of the most misbehaved children and was excluded from class almost daily.[87] After joining Arsenal in England, Van Persie settled in Hampstead, an affluent suburb of North London. Van Persie is married to his long-time girlfriend Bouchra. The couple have two children; a boy named Shaqueel and daughter Dina.

So can someone explain to me why everyones using their wildcards this week when Aguero > Rooney is an easy way to get Man United cover in and the LIV/EVE DGW hardly has much potential considering both of their fixtures?

As Elvis once lustfully sang, "Its Now Or Never".

I would imagine most have looked at the remaining fixtures and do not see a better GW to re-vamp their squads. If you leave it too late, you give yourself less time to re-coup its benefits so might as well just do it now.

Not that I have one, mine was gone in GW 4

I think that GW31 looks better. I can get Spurs and Chelsea cover in then and have a bit of a better look in to which of the relegation candidates might get a bit of form.

Taking a 4 point hit this week despite still have my wildcard. I have 2 free transfer and am happy with my team otherwise.

Waiting could reap dividends but equally it is entirely possible Chelsea do not turn things around and the relegation fodder continues to struggle so you could be left with a wildcard and not wanting to make too many changes. Most can get Spurs coverage in easily enough.

Hard to call, generally I think the more time (gws) you give yourself a 'new' team the more chance they have of rewarding your choices. But as I say I am speaking with no real experience of using a late wildcard. My team is usually in need of a re-boot in the first 5-6 gws.

This has probably been said before but
    1) Zab out for 3 weeks apparently, so um, if anyone still has Richards...

    2) It's pretty obvious Rooney has to come in eventually but is this week really the best week? They are playing a team in insane form that have kept recent CS against City, Sunderland and Chelsea.

    3) Walcott. Fixtures and form

Well if it was the only option going I wouldn't wait, but of course with a DGW looming and strong fixtures after that for Liverpool, it is not the only option this week. Focusing just on the prices, especially at this late stage, is a bit narrow too.

Tevez is nowhere near match fitness as Mancini outlined, saying he would take weeks of training to get there. You can do the transfer the week after, and even then I'm not really sure where people get ideas he's going to be regularly dropped when this week's absence was something like the first time - as evidenced by Aguero's inclusion in the Scout Picks.

Rooney has Brom this week, all I'd say is that it before going on the Rooney wave, just consider what you could do with this week's transfer.

Oh well your hand is forced then, fair play, I'd do that.

I don't have a WC either, but in my position I might be forced into gambling on Skrtel/Adam/Suarez coverage then getting Suarez out for Rooney the next GW.

Here comes my first write-up for the "FFSCLH2H". Enjoy! 😀

The following article describes the true events that occurred to journalist Micah Meera.

I was seated in a dark and damp room. Or was it a room? There was no way of accurately telling. Suddenly I heard footsteps coming from afar. It seems as I was in some kind of corridor. I started hearing sounds of movement all around me, I was not alone. A burning light grew stronger and stronger. Was this what all the stories were about? Could I actually be in an underground cave? My prayers were quickly answered. Only a handful of people have seen the bearer of this torchlight up close, but I recognized him at once. “Sleep Talk”, they call him, the manager of the football club FC Viktoria Plzeň.

Few people had heard of Viktoria Plzeň when they last year qualified for the Europa Champions League against all odds. But even fewer had heard about, or even seen, this man who was managing the team. Some say that he had been studying football tactics in Tibet with old, Bedouin monks, only to return to Europa to take on what he called “the greatest footballing challenge the world had ever seen”. Other rumours says he is a man of many talents, and that while trying to set the world record for travelling around the world in a hot air balloon, never going above 20 meters, he crashed into The Great Synagogue of Plzeň. Distraught and aghast he saw no other choice than to stay in the city of Plzeň, vowing only to return to the world when he had accomplished something spectacular. He won the league in his first season as manager, he had accomplished something remarkable, but “Sleepy” is never satisfied; now it was time to once again take on the world.

“Welcome”, he said. “I give no much interviewz in life, you zelected journalistz lucky. Rize up and come with me”. The torchlight illuminated some of the other faces around me. I knew their faces; these were world-famous footballing journalists and scouts, the best of the best, and me. “Sleep Talk” had always been very shy of the media. He never gave any press conferences, and rarely talked at all to anyone who was not a part of either Viktoria Plzeň or his family (if he even has any). But after his crushing victory over former European Champions AC Milan and renowned manager 4vetti, reports came ticking in. The manager of Viktoria Plzeň was inviting the finest and bravest of Europa’s journalists to his humble home in Plzeň. We were around 50 people who arrived that Monday evening. Buses were waiting for us, and we quickly found ourselves in one of many old, traditional beer breweries in this lovely city. Plzeň is by many recognized as the birthplace of the Pilsner beer. We were each handed a glass of bright, beautiful beer from the largest barrel I have ever seen. We drank, and then we fell asleep.

The stories were true. We were walking through an underground cave. We were in the rumoured concealed training facilities of Viktoria Plzeň. How they had come to be, no one knew, but here they were, massive facilities right below the grounds of Plzeň. We walked past running tracks, football fields, swimming pools, a great movie theatre, and a grand sports outlet store. However, we didn’t stop at any of those places. Where could he be taking us? You might wonder were the name “Sleep Talk” comes from. But if you’ve seen this manager, you won’t wonder any longer. Some say he never sleeps, and by the looks of him, it would be hard to say that he does, because he looks awfully tired. When seen talking to players or staff he seems almost half-asleep, but he still manages to get his message through, and his players eat up every word he utters. However, some say it’s more to him than just that. His players aren’t the most physically strong, but there’s no questioning their mental capacity. When the going gets tough, these players really get going. No matter how harsh the weather or how huge the opponent, these players will give their very best, to the very end, no matter what. And some say that sleep, is what gives them all this extra energy.

We had been descending for 30 minutes, and now we’d stopped. We were in some kind of dorm room, could this be it? The manager himself looked as if he was sleeping, but he were about to say some of the most amazing things I’ve ever heard a football manager say: “You now zee the greatezt zecret of Viktoria Plzeň. Football iz no game for zuper ztrong athletez. Football iz game of the pzych. If head no function properly, feet no function properly, armz no function properly. Iz all in head. Zleep is way of body recharging, gather energy. In zleep, you dream, in dream you picture greatezt dezirez, greatezt goalz. That iz how we play, that iz how we win, that iz how we will conquer Europa, that iz how we will conquer the world. Now drink.” The last time I drank beer was in a brewery in Plzeň, then we were 50, when I woke up some time later we were five. I had no idea what would happen next, nevertheless I drank, and I drank it all, it was the finest beer I had ever tasted. And then I fell asleep, again.

        my team
        migno,lindy
        evans,richards,kelly,bae,williamson

        bale,silva,sess,dempsey,siggy

        pogrebnyak,rvp,aguerro

what changes do i make this week?..was thinking aguerro out for suarez..nd next week roöney in for suarez and morrison in for sess..is it good enough..is morrison good enough for a -4??
Also a -4 would lead to a great fall in my rank.

playing my second wildcard this week. i've been going against dempsey all along and i got punished this week! out of principals i'd like to go against him for the rest of the year but i'm not sure how sensible that would be! hows this for a wildcard team?
    Given Ruddy
    Enrique Caulker Evans Kelly(fulham) simpson
    Silva Bale Wallcott Surman Sigurdsson
    RVP Rooney Suarez
Walcott is my own punt although dempsey might be a better option and i'm also tempted to ditch Silva aswell.. so thoughts and ideas, anyone at all don't mind?

Harry Potter and the Prioritising the Cull of the Deadwood

Pretty happy with my squad (even Ba), but I have 4 floaters and only 2 freebies.

Sorensen (keeper transfer - meh. No cheap keepers worth buying. Can't afford Reina. I'll stick with Vorm).
Richards (desperate to swap to Enrique, even with Carra back, but with Zabaleta's injury and Sess's sending off, my priorities may lay elsewhere).
Sess (Sig is the only replacement I can think of, even v City).
    Valencia (likewise).

i had no intention of bringing any dgw players due to a combination of liverpool being awful and relatively tough 2 fixtures
however i looked and saw liverpool have qpr and wigan after dgw which really got me interested and have now got a pool player for first time since GW 6
just making sure that when u play wildcard, you erase the point hits from earlier in the same gw right?

For those transferring Rooney in this week, I think he'll rise in price tonight and won't again until Thursday/Friday. So if you can afford it, it's probably worth waiting until after the Europa game incase he gets injured.

Once again the integrity of fantasy football has been brought into question. This nonsense of vice captains has to be scrapped. We should all live and die by our captains pick. Am I taking this matter too seriously or does anyone else share my feelings? I didn't get burned by any rivals this week I just feel strongly on the matter.

One other thing while I'm at it. Players coming off the bench should have their points halved with "1/2 points" rounded up. Nobody should benefit from the players they didn't have the balls to select in their starting 11. I poxed 12 from Caulker this week which is wrong, it just is. Rant over
