Liverpool XI: Reina, Kelly, Skrtel, Carragher, Jose Enrique, Henderson, Gerrard, Spearing, Downing, Carroll, Suarez.

Everton XI: Howard, Hibbert, Jagielka, Distin, Baines, Coleman, Rodwell, Fellaini, Pienaar, Stracqualursi, Anichebe.

Kenny Dalglish names an attacking line-up, desperate to put an end to his prolonged set of horrendous results. Andy Carroll partners Luis Suarez, and Steven Gerrard returns to the starting eleven.

Celebrating 10 years of continuous employment this week, David Moyes could see his side leap-frog their city rivals with a win. It’s surprising then that, despite his winner against Spurs, Nikica Jelavic is dropped to the bench along with John Heitinga. In their place, Denis Stracqualursi and Phil Jagielka come in.

        Man United - No, would only get in Rooneys way
        Man City - No.
        Tottenham - Wouldn't work in the system, they have enough creative players.
        Arsenal - Not unless he'd be happy to play on the wing.

          I dont rate him that highly but he'd start ahead of Welbeck, Hernandez, Saha or Defoe any day.

            Once vdVs a bit fitter it'll be him and Adebayor, and i think he'll struggle a bit to get ahead of him when there's) have other pacey players and are really looking for someone to score (which Suarez doesn't seem to be as good at as vdV).

            He's better than Welbeck and Hernandez but on balance, he isn't a good striker to pair with Rooney.

      He had 180 minutes to do something compared to everyone else so at worst it's a smart bit of damage limitation.

      Also your contradicting yourself, have you watched enough football recently Ba isn't exactly pulling up trees at the moment.

        He's had tough fixtures.

        A player with 16 goals and Norwich next week > a player with 6 goals all season.

        That's over twice as many goals, 2 games does not negate that.

      180 minutes for a striker who against Arsenal (last gameweek) had a good game albeit missed a few chances. It is always a smart move picking a player who plays twice in a week, you might as well say all the people who Captained Gerrard are lucky. Surely the point of this game is going with your gut. It just so happened most peoples gut instinct was going with Suarez, worst case scenario you would get 4 points (doubled to 8).

        Trying to work out if my 8pter was worth it. The players in got me 33. But O'Shea to Baines was net zero, Mata to Siggy lost me 1, and Ba to Suarez gained 8... But if I hadn't had Suarez, I'd probably have captained Rooney... So I'm probably not 8 points better off really...
