Everton XI: Howard, Hibbert, Jagielka, Distin, Baines, Coleman, Rodwell, Fellaini, Pienaar, Stracqualursi, Anichebe.

Kenny Dalglish names an attacking line-up, desperate to put an end to his prolonged set of horrendous results. Andy Carroll partners Luis Suarez, and Steven Gerrard returns to the starting eleven.

Celebrating 10 years of continuous employment this week, David Moyes could see his side leap-frog their city rivals with a win. It’s surprising then that, despite his winner against Spurs, Nikica Jelavic is dropped to the bench along with John Heitinga. In their place, Denis Stracqualursi and Phil Jagielka come in.

    Thanks guys. Appears to be inconclusive all round! Currently it's on McAuley as Wigan have been dire at home but I'm worried about WBA missing Olsson. I guess you would tend towards the MF rather than DF when not sure?

Evening all. Obviously delighted with Liverpool result. Suarez (c) too. Yay.

All this Young/ Nani/ Valencia nonsense has me wary of touching any of them. I have Evans and Rooney and I'm slowly thinking the best solution to getting 3 United is doubling Evans with Evra to go with Rooney.

  evra not worth his tag for me despite fact he will play every game. IF (that is a big IF) Valencia is back this week then give it another week to decide which winger to buy. The potential returns of Evans, a winger and Rooney is far greater than Evans, Evra and Rooney.

  RSA - I've been contemplating the same thing for most the weekend. Personally I reckon one United defender is enough and any one of those three mids is a risk ... I'm going to hold tight with Evans and Rooney for antoehr week until we get an idea what SAF is going to do with midfield.

  i'm thinking welbeck as the 3rd. pros: 6.5mil man utd striker with sexual fixtures. cons: takes up a striker spot and despite being first choice for most of the season isn't quite nailed-on.
  evrans another option.
  or... gerrard for qpr, WIG then see which utd winger is most enticing for gw31, picture should hopefully be clearer by then.

      haha was such a weird slip, he just randomly splatted to ground.
      gerrard 3 obv, confident in the suarez 2 and then unsure over the 1 as unless it's obvious with a load of blocks i'm not too hot on defensive ppi. think it's only between enrique, kelly and carragher though, in that order of likelihood too

        Cheers for the bps pred i was only asking as i thought Kelly might be close for the two with an assist and cs as well as good all round display in attack and defense.

        poor drenthe. kelly robbed pienaar cheaply for their game killing 2nd , if that was drenthe moyes would have probably taken him off there and then and spanked him in front of the kop. pienaar managed to then get a yellow card and still survive a triple substitution.
        kelly is purely down to the 2 shots off target, they would pretty much evaporate his assist

  evrans is still 11.9 for 2 man utd defenders. so you could cheekily look at it like that. of course that doesn't actually make evra any cheaper but hey.
  overall all though i'd be wary that buying evra means a nani/valencia/young explosion requires 2 transfers to jump on board

the generic silva bale dempsey are being threatened by young gerrard walcott mata

personally out of the 4 new options, young will eventually get rotated since ability wise hes probably the worst of the 3 united wingers, mata can drift out of games and chelsea are inconsistent

this leaves gerrard and walcott...personally think silva to gerrard as he is pools best player and will do well whilst walcott is inconsistent although he has rvp to finish his assists compared to suarez and carroll

    I kinda know what you mean, but the stats are an objective measure of what a player actually does. The FPL system is not great but subjective bonuses would be hilarious.
    Two other other performance measuring outfits (PPI & FSA) gave the same verdict on this game btw.

      Im hanging on to him , half reason he hasnt got many points is because rest of team been so useless , he should have had far more assists , than he has.
      This result going to really fire Liverpool up bigtime , especially the Gerrard factor , can see them having big finish to the season , they certainly have the fixtures for it.
      
      If Young starts being rotated , may even find a spot for Gerrard

  I wonder what the highest placed 'dead' team is? Like you say if you had RVP as captain from GW1 it would be a great foundation. Plus the likes of Bale, Silva, Rooney, etc would have been in plenty of teams

  I was thinking Gerrard might affect it but on the other hand it doesn't make sense. Being in his first season with Liverpool (right?) and starting the vast majority of games, many of which both he and Gerrard played full 90s in, plus having a different role in the team, I can't see why they're rivals for the spot.

    Dont know whether this works out price wise but it shouldnt be too far off. Might be able to get in Hart if you have some money. Also Kompany is only included if there is any sign of him being back soon otherwise look at other options in the City defence. Wouldnt touch Wolves, Everton or Villa to be honest. In my view you seem to have been dealt with the better end of the stick here.

      Well they don't score many at home, but they often score one. I'll be fielding Skrtel as my only Liverpool defender, but doubling up when Newcastle got a fair chance at a CS isn't worth it imo.
