Fantasy Football Scout are pleased to announce the sixth instalment of the open-to-all free-to-enter Paddy Power Cup competition. Your chance to join our previous winners – donnellyc, Jonty, Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints and reigning champ sleepingmaster – in our hall of fame starts now. For full details, including the fantastic prizes on offer once more, read on…

What is the Paddy Power Cup?

The Paddy Power Cup is our version of the Fantasy Premier League’s (FPL) Fantasy Cup game. Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores). In the event of a tie, the Manager with highest rank in the overall standings will progress.

How do I enter?

As with the Members Paddy Power Cup, entry for the competition is simple, just follow this link and fill out the form as required. A confirmation email will be sent shortly after you’ve submitted your details to acknowledge your entry has been received. Just like the FPL, multiple entries to the Cup are not permitted. Please ensure that you enter your FPL Team Id details correctly, any entries added incorrectly will not be entered into the qualifying round.

This cup is open to Members and Non-Members alike.

When does it start?

All entries received before the Gameweek 29 deadline will be entered into the qualifying round. We will then have 512 qualifiers for the first round – those 507 managers with the top scores in gameweek 29 (plus our five previous winners) will progress to the first round proper, which will be played in gameweek 30. Again, FPL standing will decide who progresses in the event of tied positions.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the qualifying round will be published around 24 hours after gameweek 29 has been completed and the draw for the first round will then follow.

When are the fixtures released?

The fixture list for each round will be published a day or two before each gameweek deadline.

Are there prizes?

Sponsors Paddy Power are supplying the competition with some great prizes and we’re supplementing these with Amazon Vouchers. The prizes break down as follows:

  • Winner – £150 worth of free bets. £50 Amazon Voucher
  • Runner-up – £75 worth of free bets. £30 Amazon Voucher
  • 3rd Place – £50 worth of free bets. £20 Amazon Voucher

Although entry is open to all, entrants will need a Paddy Power account and be aged 18 and over to be eligible for some of the above prizes. Prizes are also subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions.

If you’ve yet to register a Paddy Power account, then you can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register and bet £10.

If you’re going to bet with Paddy Power, always gamble responsibly.

right now I have just enough for Young ➡ Valencia and Ba ➡ Tevez. Have 2 weeks to see how things pan out and look again if the move is worth making.

I don't own him but I wouldn't recommend going for him considering Tevez is back with Aguero and Dzeko competing for a spot up front, City aren't good away and have some tough fixtures coming up too. Just doesn't feel optimal to me.

I was wondering if Alex Ferguson's/Roberto Mancini's friends and family are allowed to enter fpl?
Imagine the advantage if they knew the line ups.
I would be very suspicious of people who captain Scholes, Giggs, Tevez or Kolorov!

It helps if you remember his team value and the money in the bank before the transfer was made...

By gauging the value differences and looking at potential buying and selling values, you can surmise roughly who he took out and brought in...

Just seen his team value has gone down by .4 so guessing that means he's dumped Silva which I was hoping he wouldn't do. Certainly got one of the United 3 in, hopefully a different one to me.

    Mignolet
    Skrtel Caulker Williamson
    Young McClean, Bale, Dempsey (c)
    Suarez Ba RVP

    Bench: Vorm, Silva, Kelly, Santon.

I'd opt for Santon ahead of Enrique. Why? Because QPR are fighting to avoid relegation and for some strange reason Liverpool struggle against lower teams. Also, Newcastle were unlucky against Arsenal at the Emirates and will want to take it out on Norwich at home.

Midfield is great and the strikers are great. I think Newcastle will revert back to 4-4-2 and Cisse will start with Ba, so the goals could go to either.

"I’d opt for Santon ahead of Enrique. Why? Because QPR are fighting to avoid relegation and for some strange reason Liverpool struggle against lower teams. "

Made me laugh, not that I disagree either. Santon is getting limited pitch time at the moment. Whilst these seem to be tactical changes I don't like the idea of risking getting 1 point. I prefer Mac's idea soz RYAN.

Santon isn't getting limited time. He was struggling against Walcott who is arguably the quickest player in the Premier League. Santon will 99% start against Norwich.

I agree that he'll start. I said it was a tactical change. I think Norwich will score that's why I don't want to play him. They hit 4 past Newcastle last time they played each other. Goalfest. Also Ba scored 2 (hopeful 🙂 )

Newcastle have progressed throughout the season since then (apart from a few thrashings from Fulham etc). I still think QPR will also score, mainly because Cisse from QPR would like to prove a few things to his former team.

comments above on Fratboy have made me re-asses my line-up this week now. Thoughts please

    Schwarzer

    Evans, Skrtel, Santon

    McLean, Bale, Dempsey, Young

    RvP, Rooney (c) Ba (vc)

    Mingolet, Siggy, Caulker, Taiwo

Newcastle's defence isn't what it was early doors. Santon's been subbed off on 45 mins twice recently. I'd take a punt on Caulker the BP magnet. The rest looks good.

It was 4-2 last time JK, I don't like the idea of playing Santon one bit! Some people seem to be favouring it which is strange! I don't feel confident playing double Liverpool against QPR though.... :/

I see what you mean, I'm playing all 3 of my Fulham boys. I don't see a problem with playing Caulker, he could be involved and could end with a BP or 3 from a 1-0/1-1.

Basically, I think Caulker will score more than Santon as they'll both concede.

Still go with Schwarzer, higher chance of CS. You shouldn't look at players against each other as a bad thing, pick those with the best chance of scoring the most points.

Question marks over Bale's form. I would get rid of him for two weeks if your not going to lose too much value.
I assume Ba's day's are numbered in your team, after the next gameweek?
Also you would be better off with Hanley instead of Taiwo!

Spurs fixtures good in a couple of weeks (and not too bad this) but I am monitoring it. I have already brought in Young so any transfer would be for a hit. Ba will likely survive until GW31 when Ade comes in, and Taiwo becomes Ridgewell. Taiwo was a punt that failed, he has managed just 2 assists and I had him on the bench for both of them.
