It’s a tricky weekend for Fantasy managers. The upcoming FA Cup Sixth Round almost gives us as much concern as the four league fixtures over Saturday and Sunday themselves, with seven teams in action before the gameweek resumes in midweek. While the likes of Spurs and Chelsea could be ready to rotate ahead, sides such as Sunderland and Everton will be keen to field stronger lineups, with David Moyes particularly determined to atone for the Mersyeside derby defeat at Liverpool last Tuesday evening:

Moyes was typically vague ahead of the weekend home tie against Sunderland this morning. While Steven Pienaar is cup-tied for the Toffees and Darron Gibson remains sidelined with a knee problem, the Everton boss revealed he has a couple of concerns though, as usual, refused to name names:

We picked up a couple of niggling injuries from the game in midweek. I’ll need to see if they’re going to be fit and available for the game. We’re not sure yet, but we’ll wait and see.

Tony Pulis yesterday confirmed Thomas Sorensen will be in goal for this Sunday’s FA Cup trip to Liverpool. With the Potters boss keeping one keeper for cup competitions and one for the league, it seems to underline the fact that Asmir Begovic has jumped ahead of the Dane in the pecking order for top-flight matches. Pulis spoke more on the situation, going on to concede:

The great thing about the last couple of weeks is that Asmir’s come into the team and played really well. He’d had a spell in the team just before he was left out where he looked a little bit tired, a bit jaded and made a few mistakes. But he’s come back in refreshed and looked the part, and he deserves to be playing in the league. Now Thomas gets his chance.

With three matches in the next seven days, Owen Coyle has admitted he’ll make a couple of changes for Bolton’s FA Cup clash with Spurs. The Trotters boss looks likely to prioritise the upcoming league clashes against Villa and Blackburn as he plots his side’s bid for survival and with the likes of Marvin Sordell cup tied and Chris Eagles struggling with a hamstring strain, Coyle looks set to utilise his squad for the clash against Harry Redknapp’s side this Saturday.

David Luiz has revealed he is struggling to overcome an ankle problem ahead of Chelsea’s FA Cup game against Leicester. The centre-half admitted he played through the pain barrier in Wednesday’s Champions League win over Napoli and with John Terry failing to finish the match, the pair could well be two of several changes Roberto Di Matteo makes this weekend, with Wednesday’s league game at City also in his thinking.

Ryan Taylor and Cheik Tiote are continuing to be assessed ahead of Newcastle’s match with Norwich on Sunday. The former missed last Monday’s trip to Arsenal due to a calf problem, while the Magpies midfield enforcer limped out of the Emirates clash holding his thigh, with Alan Pardew hopeful Tiote’s problem was no more than cramp.

Sir Alex Ferguson was quick to point out the importance of Sunday’s trip to Wolves in last night’s Europa League press conference. While magnanimous in defeat, with United beaten in both legs by Athletic Bilbao, Ferguson quickly turned his attentions to domestic duties, indicating his thoughts are firmly on establishing a four point lead over City this weekend:

Obviously we now have to make sure we win on Sunday against Wolverhampton Wanderers. We decided to take off Rio Ferdinand, Michael Carrick and, eventually, Ryan Giggs because we have to think about Sunday.

While the Mail and Mirror both suggest Wayne Rooney is nursing a knock, United’s official site published an article on the possible doubts for the Wolves game earlier this morning- Rooney was not mentioned, suggesting he’s on course to continue his remarkable run of goalscoring form this weekend.

In his early morning Friday press conference, Paul Lambert announced new boy Johnny Howson has recovered from illness and is available for Norwich this weekend. While Daniel Ayala and Marc Tierney both remain sidelined, the pair are expected to return to training next week. James Vaughan is still on the road to recovery.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

United still harking on about the knock - he's clearly still a doubt for Sunday until we hear otherwise. I'd bet on a bench role at best to be honest.

sod it, i'm doing Yaya (3pt) Toure > Valencia and putting him in my starting XI.

even if it's the worst decision ever and he's a no-show, i'll have The Ox and McAuley coming off the bench.

    LOSTT ONN LASTT POSTTT:

Simpson was good last game, performance-wise. Swans will definitely concede, thats for sure. playing Caulker just for his threats on set pieces then. whereas Newcastle MIGHT keep a cleansheet.

      That's some crazy shit.
I was actually typing up "anyone considering Lampard from 31-32 onwards" but thought it might get caught at the bottom of the page.
I'm considering, he's played 90 minutes every game under RDM and is only 2.5% ownership or something.
Looking at some differentials to make some ground so it's either Dempsey/Drogba or Lampard/Balotelli

Don't think there are any easy ties in the last 8 of the CL. The draw hasn't been kind to Milan but you would have to beat the top sides if you are going to win it anyway.

Of the 7 possible opponents I would loved to have drawn 3 of them. Yes you have to beat the top sides to win it but with a good draw you can win the competition by only having to beat 1/2 top teams. For Milan to win it's looks like they'd have to eliminate Arsenal, Barca, Chelsea and then Madrid/Bayern in the final. Not going to happen.

Oh, sweet, kind, lovely beer...How I love thee!

So, the usual questions in the usual way...Bogdan or Vorm? Can Swansea get 3 (3!) clean sheets in a row? Gotta be Skrtel, Evans, Simpson, right? But that leaves Kelly and McAuley on the bench. Maddness? Is this...Sparta? Then we move on to...Dempsey, Nani, Yaya, Bale - Siggy on the bench! Ba, Rooney, RVP up front.

    What to do?

Why? Silva > Yaya free up $$ cash to make tranfer of his choice next week.

He could then decide to go Ba>Rooney or Aguero > Rooney next week. He has one more week to make his decision on which one to dump.

He's a great player for sure. Love watching him, great physically, fast, good positioning and good crosses. He'll be first choice in a few years. He used to be a CB though, not sure what the long term plans are for him. Flanagan is a decent young right back as well.

Love this comment, obviously! Only thing is Johnson was probably playing as well as ive seen him for Liverpool before he got injured. Kelly's day will come, i wonder if he might be tried at CB again at some point, that was his natural postion initially.

It's a tough one. Seems like because of his form of late, he's gone out of lots of teams - dropped in money because of this and seems a few people are drafting him in because of his cheaper price and good fixture against Norwich, hard to say but I don't think he'll fall in price tonight.
